The Morning Report - 3/14/19

impbrea.jpg

Good morning kids. Thursday and as the dust begins settling somewhat over the school admission bribery scandal, the big story emerging is the seeming internecine Democrat warfare over impeaching President Trump. As Sally Zeikovsky writes in American Thinker:

...The only difference among the Pelosi and Ocasio-Cortez/Sanders Democrats is one of tactics. In order to achieve their socialist objectives, the Pelosians do things incrementally, often behind the scenes, and talk like moderates while implementing radical legislation. The Ocasio-Cortez/Sandersans lay it all on the line, hide nothing, and say exactly what they intend to do. But the goals are the same, the ideology identical. Even the path to reach their goals is the same. They just differ slightly on approach - - do we tell them we're screwing them or make it all look nicely packaged... and screw 'em?

This is certainly the case. But Zelikovsky says a few things in her article that I'm not so sure about. She asserts that Nancy Pelosi, in fact, has not lost control of the party and although her analysis of how the Trotskyites vs. the Shining Path Maoists differ in approach is correct, she doesn't recognize the yuuuuuge orange elephant in the room, which is Donald Trump himself. His attempt to alter the trajectory towards socialist hell is the reason the likes of Donkey Chompers Chiquita Kruschev, the "Bro-Fo" and all the others, including the media itself are clamoring openly for the most radical socialist policies in the most vile, rabid language. If the mainstreaming of anti-Semitism in that party doesn't confirm this, then you're not paying attention. Despite to seemingly disagree with herself in a couple of places, it's a good essay nonetheless and worthy of your time.

That still leaves us with the impeachment question and what the meaning is of Palsi Pelosi's going against the tide of the Democrat base and most, if not all, on her side of the aisle who ran and more than likely got out the vote on the promise of impeachment. I'm of the belief that Palsi has, in fact, lost control of the party or is on the verge of losing it if the so-called "Justice Democrats" can wrest enough "moderates" (for this party, anyway) to mess with her tactical/parliamentary agenda. Sub-morons like Al Green and Maxine Waters have been with her since the Pleistocene era and yet are as vocal and virulent about getting rid of Trump as Rancid Tliban who shrieked she was going to "impeach the motherf**ker" at some rally.

Circling back, yes Pelosi does want to impeach Trump, but I think she realizes that as the economy continues booming (the Fed notwithstanding), the Collusion myth explodes and the ramping up of hearings only making the President look more and more like a victim of persecution, the odds of his re-election continue to get better and better. And since impeachment is a political process and not a criminal one, you need to drive his approval to 30% or below. And that ain't happening. In fact, as time has gone on, his numbers get better and better. He's well into the 40s and from what I understand when you approach or reach 50%, it's essentially a mandate from the electorate.

What Pelosi is doing is waiting until after the 2020 election to start the circus and destroy his second term agenda in the hopes that a Democrat retakes the White House in 2024. The one fly in the ointment is her expecting to retain the House. And all things considered, this president is going to have some major coattails for even the recalcitrant GOP candidates to ride in on.

The things that tend to scare me are, assuming Trump does win reelection (please G-d) what happens after his second term? We need Trumps in every elected office all the way down to dog-catcher and for the next 40 years to stave off disaster. Also, the Democrat Party is now solidly a reflection of its electorate. The party is officially anti-American, anti-freedom and is a de facto foreign entity that seeks the overthrow of the nation as founded. It got that way via 40-50 or more years of brainwashing several generations of American youth and the importation of upwards of 30 million or more foreign, destitute peasants who have no intention of assimilating and every intention of being dependent upon the ever-growing, ever-intrusive central command and control government, all while subsuming and replacing whatever is left of our heritage and culture. That there is the mortal threat we are facing. Solve that and win a cookie.

Elsewhere, Daniel Greenfield leads the field in covering the Democrat anti-semitism, a terror-linked lawyer is running for city commissioner in heavily Jewish Coral Springs, and Rancid Tliban and "Bro-Fo" Omar are causing trouble here and abroad.

Politics: Fauxca-Has-Been Warren gets the chutzpadik-of-all-time award in condemning the fraud of the college admissions scandal, Chiquita Kruschev melts down over the Wells Fargo CEO highlighting her stupidity, and a couple of good essays on the NeverTrumpers including Victor Davis Hanson.

Anti-Trump Coup: Paul Manafort gets more charges hurled at him by the commie pinko fuckwad New York DA (he may be praying for a SCOTUS decision on double jeopardy to save him), and Lisa Page bemoans flapping her gumsy gums.

Abortion: Things looking good in Ohio and hideous in the House.

First Amendment: No one watches CNN but many pay for it, Facebook crashes, the NeverTrumper attack on VDH (the author must be a lurker), and Fauxca-Has-Been's plan to break up Big-Tech Big Brother may not be all that great.

Foreign Desk: Venezuelans go long on colander masks and the chaos there is not good for the region or us in the long run, Brexit is a total cock-up, B-52s over the South China Sea, Algerian unrest is the last thing Macron needs, tranny ban in the Armed Forces and Iran gets appointed to UN Women's Rights committee. Pussy-hat burqas for everybody!

Domestic News: Neomi Rao is confirmed to nation's second highest court and a look at the bureaucracy through the lens of the Boeing 737 Max fiasco.

Economy: Trump grounds all Boeing 737 Max's.

Education: A charter school success story as a model for the rest of the nation and several links on campus Joo-hatred.

Red-Greens: Walter Williams on the insipid notion of "saving the planet" and the real danger of global cooling.

Feminazism and Transgender Psychosis: Forget Barbie and GI Joe; strap-ons and fleshlights... for the children!

Hither and Yon: Christian Toto with Adam Carolla-isms, David Frum gets smacked around, and Victor Davis Hanson on our societal trajectory.

Anyway, links from around the world, across the nation and up your street. Have a better one and remain blessed.

The establishment wants this to happen, but all the moving pieces aren't coming together in a coordinated enough way. They still haven't implemented draconian gun control, there's still push back on illegals voting, and Trump got elected.
I believe they planned on this, but it's spiraling out of control.

There are many post turtles out there. Wealthy benefactors who use money and influence to position their sock puppets into power.

The Kennedy kids and now Beta are examples of wealthy parents who want to get their ne're-do-well offspring and inlaws a seat at the table.

She didn't need to flash her boobs, just her "minority" status as a hispanic.

_________________

All citizens. Right, that would last about 5 minutes until the left started screaming that it was raaaaaacist not to give it to illegal aliens too.

Our current welfare is only supposed to go to citizens and legal residents, and we've seen how well that works out. We pay billions of dollars in welfare to illegal aliens every year. They simply check the "yes" box on the question that asks "are you a U.S. citizen or legal resident?" on the application form. They know nobody ever verifies it. And in California, it's not even legal to ask the question.

That's why "universal basic income" would basically be suicide for the U.S. Once we start handing out free money to everybody, we'll be inundated with third-world poor -- even more than we are now. Why would anybody stay in a shithole like Pakistan or Somalia or El Salvador or whatever, when for the price of a single one-way plane or bus ticket, they can come to the U.S. and live off U.S. taxpayers for the rest of their lives?

America has clean air, clean water ... the polluters are the cheap producers in foreign lands ... where Wall Street gets their slave labor, and tosses human rights outs the door, while they profit off the real coal soot polluters, with the nastiest rivers and sub-human conditions. But as with the narco-states ... there are people in power involved in all that trafficking.

But promising cheap toys to Americans (who are pushed into debt along with the country) ... makes Wall Street and leveraged billionaires very happy ... so the charade continues. Frum's solution ... The US would instantly transform into a shithole (on a far more steep trajectory it is on now). Its the people and the culture, not the geography that define a shithole.

Furthemore, suppose a few hundred million people infiltrate into the country and completely bring down the public and medical infrastructure, that will be a day in the park compared to the fact that UBI doesn't pay enough to build homes, let alone support an active chemical abuse habit.

The quality of life will be non-existent, and the few remaining who don't go all Atlas Shrugged will be robbed the moment they step out of the homes by the hundreds of millions of homeless, drugged-up savages who don't know a word of English.

Come to think of it, it would only take a few tens of millions to put us irretrievably in a Venezuela condition with lots of shootings, so the hundreds of millions won't happen.

David Horowitz, though, had significant intellectual chops by the time he was the age that Cortez is.

Cortez was working class, worked at a bar, for pete's sake, and learned absolutely nothing in the process.

Cortez appears to be one of those who feels she is right, and facts that hurt her preconceived notions are evil, because hurt feelings are worse than facts.

169 This is alarming. Pair it with Omar, Tlaib, and the failed Palestinian CA Congressional candidate who's the freakin' grandson of the Munich terror attack mastermind, it is an alarming TREND:

Khurrum Basir Wahid is a Pakistani-born South Florida attorney, who has built his name on representing high profile terrorists. His past clients include: Rafiq Sabir, who received a 25-year prison sentence for conspiring to provide material support to al-Qaeda; al-Qaeda operative Ahmed Omar Abu Ali, who received a life sentence for plotting to assassinate President George W. Bush; Sami al-Arian, who sought to create a Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) infrastructure within the Tampa, Florida-area; and Miami imam Hafiz Khan, who was convicted of sending $50,000 to the Pakistani Taliban with the intent to murder American troops overseas.

According to the Miami New Times, Wahid himself was placed on a federal terrorist watch list in 2011. The publication states, "ometimes, a clash between his work and personal life is inescapable. Last year, he landed on a federal 'selectee' list --- a terrorist watch list. Now he gets a pat down at the airport before flying and can't print boarding passes at home."

And he's trying to slip in via a special election, likely with low voter turnout and not much time or scrutiny spent vetting the candidates.

Forward force projection? Yeah.. Keep a carrier group in the Mediterranean, etc. etc.. But we can't have boots on the ground snuffing out little groups of Islamic terrorists all over the world.. they are simply too nimble and will crop up in the next shithole down the block.

The Bush Doctrine of spreading "democracy" got stick in the ?? with the purple finger in Middle East fate, and South Africa may be more of the same. But the Monroe Doctrine on South America ... perhaps a better chance of "spreading democracy" in our own national interest. idk. Certainly China and Russia have interests there ...

Except for their ties to the globalist crime syndicate, the Five Eyes approach seemed to have some merit. But that quickly veered off course as they plot to thwart the actual election of Trump ... elected to stop the likes of their own globalist overthrow of "The Sovereign State" as a workable concept. They decided to just run the world themselves. (so Snowden, wikileaks, Binney ... others)

The internet could make the individual MORE sovereign, BUT the globalists (real fascists) have decided it would be a nice Trojan Horse to use for Google style control. Have you checked your SJW social credit score lately?

What the average American doesn't care to understand is that in order to dissuade attacks or take down groups before they become a more complex threat is you need to grab people by the belt buckle. Today's threats, especially Islamic terrorism, has no respect for anything but pure, real, destructive force and power. You don't deal with that threat by placing a carrier offshore alone. You do it by putting a FOB in their backyard and killing every SOB who pops his head up. You also do it by showing people the carrot and stick of a better way. I love this shit where people spout you can wait for them to build up, drop a few bombs and go have a latte. It don't work that way in the real world honey. You mostly don't get that intelligence without being part of the mix.

Now to CBD';s point on "nation building", we can have that discussion. But the fact is you have to engage in parts of that process unless you want to be back there dealing with the same threat every five years. That's just the pure, unvarnished, demonstrably provable truth. We have lots of experience with these threats and they are too complex to deal without troops who can execute a COIN strategy or deal with through RSOI ops and the the ability to quickly respond to unconventional threats. That's just the plain truth. How long do we stay in country and to what extent? I'm all for that discussion, baby. But part of that is politics the other part is pure, fucking wisdom. You don't want to waste the ground you gained and threat diminishedment you've accomplished. But you surely don't want a direct stake in their country either. Oh, and by the way. Most of these guys knew or know exactly what they are getting into when the voluntarily sign up. Did some of them die or get injured doing shit or fighting battles they shouldn't have? Yep. and I think about that every time I visit Section 60. But in the end it's just war, and I guarantee you a lot of them wouldn't want it any other way.

315 Here's a question:

Why is it that a transgender person is not otherwise expected to live as a normal American citizen?

If transgenderism is stipulated to be "just another mode of living" (which, TBH, I kinda do think), why is it considered a mandatory auxiliary condition to also live as a complete freakazoid dipshit basketcase? If you believe you ought to belong to the opposite sex from which you were born, go right ahead... Change your cultural signfiers (hair, dress, voice, mannerisms) to match your chosen sex, but shouldn't you want to live as a *normal* member of the opposite sex?

Transgender people have been around forever, it's not a new phenomenon. But they always attempted to live as normal a life as possible, and just hoped for the people around them to accept the polite fiction that they had changed genders. And most people DID. Because Americans, by and large, used to generally be a forbearing and polite people.

So it's not about Trans-acceptance, now. It's about antisocial moonbat dipshittery being held up as "authentic" in order to destabilize ordered society.
Or... you know... what's it called again?

Cultural Marxism.

There's no need for "transgenderism" either, but someone saw a market to exploit...

You can't get everyone into the same form of madness, but everyone has some trap they're vulnerable to falling into, with the right push.

I saw a very feminine girl the other day with surgically modified elf ears. Probably not at all interested in mutilating her genitals, but the chance to pretend away their humanity (and thus absolve themselves of the Leftist versions of original sin) has a bit of a pull for some.

Between now and 2050, the population of Nigeria is going to double, while the population of Japan is going to decline by 10%.

Posted by: Nevergiveup at March 14, 2019 09:02 AM (bim/x)

I think Blue Bird nailed it, in that the voter demographics (which yes, living here and having eyes and ears I can actually see well, statewide) have changed considerably in recent years, thanks to all the out-of-state trash that has moved here, bringing their idiotic voting habits with them.

And yes, Cruz does know how to campaign. I watched him come into the GOP primary 6+ years ago as a dark horse against the GOPe-anoited candidate, and he curb stomped him, then his Dim opponent in the general to win his first term in the Senate.

But then he had two strikes against him. The Dims hated him because 1. he had more intellect than all of them put together (Alan Dershowitz, no conservative he, said that Cruz was the most brilliant student he ever had at Harvard Law) and 2. he is a constitutional conservative. The GOPe's hated him because he was not of the Party anointed, having beaten their chosen candidate. So he was in a shitstorm from both sides from day one. But yes, I watched him, he does know how to campaign.

But (there's always a but, isn't there) I was also a Cruz supporter in 2016 and I was also rather unimpressed with how he ran. My take on it was two fold. I think he'd gotten a bit too thin skinned after those years of getting slapped around in the Senate by both sides, so that when Trump started tearing into him in the primary he was, shall we say, a bit taken aback and didn't quite know how to handle it.

The other problem Cruz had, I think, was that he just didn't have that "fire in the belly" that you must have if you want to win the Presidency. Trump certainly had it, but I don't think Cruz did and it showed in his campaign. He just was not out there stomping all comers like you need to do in order to win, as Trump demonstrated.

340 Pelosi 'controls' the Socialists as long as the Socialist donors say she does.
Honestly, the donors are hedging their bets...the new 'improved' assholes like Chiquita and the Bro-Ho and Taliban keep Nancy under control from a donor stand point--internal competition is a good thing....to a point.
The donors will see what they think they can win in 2020 and back the horses(whores) they think will deliver the most--up and down the electoral line up--in 2020.
I think it's truly an open question as to who is control now..but it will not be a year from now. The lead whore(s) will be plainly and firmly in Stalin-like control.
The Socialists will not be denied in 2020--for ANY reason --and the oft discussed civil war awaits that stolen election.

348 a recent article spoke of Mueller being able to command top dollar once he is done persecuting/obstructing Trump (and covering up his and Hillary's crimes).

So just how does that work ... that leading a coup is still marketable, and for Weismann the same, maybe worse. The Dawn Raids on old men ... just what BigMoney is looking for when they hire a law firm to run roughshod over Law and Order? "But of course it is ... "can i get some muscle over here?" Mueller/Wesimann ... big money cuz they are syndicate connected muscle, that can even get Crooked Hillary off from her crimes of the century.

Which leads to "why did they have to take down Arthur Anderson?" Seeing their corruption, I'd suppose it is very harmful to have a real accounting firm being a little too scrupulous about where some corporation is finding an extra trillion of government money. So the preferred syndicate firms can take on those jobs, using somewhat more flexible moral fiber in their GAAP standards.

There are errors in both directions - but don't underestimate the huge problem Japan is heading for, not the least of which is the extinction of their nation, and their culture. In 30 years or so, half of the Japanese population will be over 65, which turns Japan into nothing but a giant nursing home where the healthy and young half of the population is supposed to spend all of their tme and energy doing nothing but taking care of the old half.

Whenever that's happened before, the productive half figures out they can be a whole lot better off if they just find a way to get rid of the useless half. And if they don't, a bigger and more militant neighbor will.

And that winning decisively part is why the German and Japanese cultures were able to be reformed. Modern Germany's problems are more a product of reintegrating the East than of our efforts there.

We shifted the entire Japanese culture's focus from war to business, and they became a dominant economic power for decades.

Would either country have developed into anything useful if the Germans had been allowed to keep National Socialism, or the Japanese their Bushido fanaticism?

Frankly, he's been winding down since last fall when he sent Trump the questions. The last thing that happens in an investigation is the potential target is interviewed last after all the minions are dealt with.

The prosecutions took some time to finish up but the investigation itself has been pretty much over for a while.

A short explanation of Yemen - what's been going on in Yemen is a proxy war between Saudi Arabia and Iran as to which one is going to be the biggest swinging dick in the Islamic World, not to mention who's in charge of the bulk the crude oil sales to Europe and China. Saudi is not great, we all know that - but Iran is trying to reestablish the old Persian Empire, stretching from Tehran to the Mediterranean, which would make them a Great Power just like they were before Alexander knocked them down. (seriously, their leaders think that) That's why they've been so active in Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon - they want a corridor to the Mediterranean. Supporting the anti-Saudi forces in Yemen allows them to try and strategically plunge a knife into the Saudi's belly.

As we all know, the Saudi's are not "good folks", BUT - politics in the Middle East is not about supporting "good nations" (there are none, except Israel) but about blocking the really, really Bad Ones.

So we've been supporting the Saudi's in Yemen quietly, hoping they could do it on their own - but it's hard to get good help these days. The Saudi's manage it stupidly, they botch things strategically, then they get scared and overreact and massacre a bunch of civilians for no reason. They're incompetent at managing an actual fighting force. and I suspect that some American forces are being put there because a) Iran really does need to be blocked, b) it's actually kind of an easy little war to win, both sides are pathetic, and c) we're sick of watching the Saudi's screw everything up even though they've had every opportunity to get it right.

This reads like tea leaves or divination. The "quiet" stuff is being done" beg used by this Administration or by its designees is getting tiresome. It's become a euphemism for lassitude. If the "stuff being done" is legit, and there's no chapter-and-verse for keeping it "quiet," Trump supporters would be gratified to hear the occasional authority unambiguously say "we've identified some BS, this is what it is, this is what's being done to correct it, we'll be done correcting it on X."

These "they're being quiet about it" caveats don't cut much ice with a polity eager to see concrete movement on serious issues. This sneaking around ("Sessions is working behind the scenes") folderol doesn't show much candor from what we'd hoped would be a comparatively BS-free admin.
