118 The print on the wall in the background is interesting. Many time artists will put painting/sculpture in the background that will be metaphors for the main scene. This one looks like the young Christ in the Temple discussing the Law with the Elders. It's not unusual for artists to use Jesus to symbolize the persecution of an innocent person (or a seemingly innocent person) by a powerful dictator or State, and to use Bible stories as allegories for modern themes.

125 I rented a car that was for all intents and purposes self driving. It had adaptive cruise and lane change tech. So it sped up and down as needed and if the car veered to close to the lane markers, it put you back in the center of the lane. I drove like that for a few minutes just to see what it was like. It was both cool and scary. After a maybe 5 mins I was like this is too stressful and I turned it all off. And this was a generic Kia something or other, not a Tesla or anything high end.

Within 10 years all new cars will be fully self driving. My kids who are a few years away from getting a license keep saying they hope cars drive themselves soon since they don't want to have to learn to drive.

People used to buy "safe" cars like Volvo or Suburbans or Mercedes for the wife and kids. But what if the car's programming differs from your opinion of what is safe? Do I buy the car that guarantees my safety at all costs? Or the one that provides the "most" safety? ie would it sacrifice me for someone else?

That's impossible!

Have you seen their credentials?

353 I don't know why we limit the Olympics to Homo sapiens sapiens. Awfully uncivilized to exclude all the marginalized species out there.

356 Good point. Intersectionality eliminates the beloved hyphen. If you are not a hyphened something group, then you are under their tent.

And if you have a broken hyphen you will never marry into a good family. But I hear there are surgical techniques to manage that.

358 But the original academic (i use that word loosely) impetus for the idea was a unification of all grievance groups under one umbrella to amplify the strength of The Struggle against oppression.

One of the few selling points of the Taliban is that they publicly executed pedophiles. According to some reading I did, a lot of them were survivors of abuse. And they were pretty busy.

Where did the pedos run away to, do you suppose?

360 This tranny horseshit will last exactly up to the moment one wins a gold in a women's Olympic event and the crowd boos that person off the field. And the ratings plummet.

Olympic Boxing and Judo will be the bridge too far. People around the world will see third rate male athletes literally beating women on live TV. They won't be able to gaslight their way out if that. It will trigger the protective impulse in men and outrage in women. The credibility of all who pushed this malarkey will be severely damaged.
