I've been watching that one. Police Chief keeps claiming that it was a "known drug house" - but all of his explanations and justifications keep falling apart with even the slightest investigation.
From what I can tell, a relative (her mother,I think?) called in a report that they were drug dealing, because she was mad at them. It wasn't true, but rather than investigate, the Houston PD used a squad of plainclothes men to kick the door in, with guns drawn. The guy in the house was well armed, almost certainly thought he was being attacked by gang bangers, and he came out guns blazing.
End result - two suspects and 4 officers died because the Houston PD wanted to look tough and didn't think they needed to follow procedures, and it was all started by an angry mother in law. None of it needed to happen.

O/T but I've noticed whenever true crime shows cover a dad-kills-daughter-for-dating, or something similar, the I-for-Islam word is never mentioned. It's always a 'cultural' conflict because Angry Dad came from Pakistan or Egypt. It's annoying that they sidestep the real issue.

The answer is the same as for the entire problem: more and better enforcement of visa conditions, RESTRICTION/REDUCTION OF VISAS FOR TYPES/NATIONALITIES WHO BREAK THE LAW THE MOST, AND *SUSPENSION OF VISA ISSUANCE* FOR EXTREME CASES (as worked, beautifully and quickly, with countries formerly refusing to take repatriated people we deported).

yeah - unprocessed ore is mildly radioactive, that's all. People use the word "radioactive" like it's some talisman of Evil Magic, because they don't understand it. I noticed in the article it reported that "the maximum safe dosage for the public is no more than 2 millirems per hour". And yet no one ever points out that if you're in Grand Central Station, or standing on or near any Granite surfaced walkway or monument in Washington DC, you're already above that, because Granite measures higher than that.
So, I'm certain that the Park Service facilities were at least as hazardous as standing next to your average rock.

Ben, you know we are pretty much on the same side of issues.
Paypal does not take 10%, if it is a donation, they take zero. Otherwise, something like 3%, like a credit card. There are qualifiers at the Paypal website that define this. The existing one-time Donation button would have the same rules as the Subscription button.
Subscription button is just an automatic way to pay a recurring amount without having to log in and send an individual payment.
My comment about the new Congressional law was not necessarily about AoS, but specifically was about the 40-some odd types of businesses (pay day loans, gold and silver dealers, many others) that Obama tried to smear out of existence by denying those business access to the Federal Reserve Banking system. Something like 2013?
Ace is similar in need of funding protection to these other industries. Otherwise this will spread. For being an honest website that allows anyone to say what they wish. Kind of like America used to be in some states and regions.

However my earlier point was that while the Brits were responsible for the first organised " concentration camps" where mostly white Afrikaner women and children were imprisoned and a lot died of contagious diseases as a result of overcrowding and poor hygiene and generally poor governance.
SA became a self-governing nation state within the British Empire, in 1934 following enactment of the Status of the Union Act. Post WWII the Afrikaners developed racial laws and ultimately Apartheid. The Brits had sweet FA to do with that. I can see a huge problem looming. I can talk to dozens of ex SA people in my patch who are leaving if and when they can, mostly white non Afrikaners. And they all seem to have a horror story to tell.

As for Judicial Watch...I work for a Dow 30 company, and had JW added to our company's Charitable Contribution Campaign list this year, and I donate to them every paycheck.
Of course, I realize that adding JW probably put me on the "Let a Hundred Flowers Bloom" list for my company HR, but whatevs...
