Local Diocese's Investigation Finds Covington Kids Did Nothing Wrong;
Lawyer Confirms They'll Be Suing Nathan Philips

The Diocese's report is here. After interviews with all the kids and school and parent chaperones, and a review of 50 hours of video footage, the Diocese finds the kids did absolutely nothing wrong.

Neither Nathan Philiips nor his daughter responded to any of the Diocese's requests for an interview.

Regarding the other videos showing some boys who may or may not be Covington students saying rude things, in one case, the diocese finds they weren't even Covington students at all, and in other, they can't determine if they're Covington students at all. But that doesn't matter, because you can't even tell what the students say. (Though the left immediately jumped to the claim that if you can't determine what they said, it must have been Racist or Rapey.)

This article digests the findings.

In a letter to CovCath parents, Bishop Roger Foys wrote that the investigation "has demonstrated that our students did not instigate the incident that occurred at the Lincoln Memorial."

"I am pleased to inform you that my hope and expectation ... that the results of our inquiry ... would 'exonerate our students so that they can move forward with their lives' has been realized," Foys wrote.

Despite the initiation perception by many people online, the students actually "were placed in a situation that was at once bizarre and even threatening," Foys wrote. "Their reaction to the situation was, given the circumstances, expected and one might even say laudatory."

Meanwhile, Nathan Philips may not have a choice as to whether or not he'll answer questions at his next court-mandated interview.

L. Lin Wood, an Atlanta-based attorney who specializes in aggressive defamation suits against the media, told LifeSiteNews on Friday that Nathan Phillips' "lies and false accusations" against Sandmann and the other Covington students are "well documented" and he will be sued. He confirmed to PJ Media on Twitter Wednesday that he intends to sue Phillips.

Wood explained in a tweet last week that a sworn deposition from Phillips would "prove invaluable in obtaining justice" for his client.

Lin Wood's actually pretty feisty about suing a lot of cocksuckers who need some suing:

I love that.

He's also calling for criminal prosecutions of those who made threats against the Covington kids and parents.

This guy, who joined the outrage mob, is at least apologetic about it, and makes a great point against those who also joined in the outrage mob, but now search for absurd reasons to justify what turn out to be lies:

He then notes the "journalists" engaged in this kind of "bargaining," claiming that even though their initial claims were lies, there is some "larger point" that makes their lies true.

Among them: Maggie Haberman, a current target of Lin Wood. She just keeps doubling down on fake news.

But you should trust her. She can't admit error and will invent new storylines to defend her previous false claims, but you should trust her anyway.

She's a "journalist."

Examples include "well they were wearing MAGA hats" and "even if it didn't happen, it says a lot about racism in our culture." Key elements include suddenly switching to the passive voice and speaking poetically about society.

After all, @maggieNYT [Maggie Haberman] isn’t *SAYING* that the kids are racist against American Indians. Of course not. She's merely placing the episode in the larger context of Catholic genocide of American Indians. Now, if you come away from that thinking the kids are racist, that's on you.

Bargaining:

[quoted tweet]
@annehelen
I have watched all of the videos. You can understand that the situation was more complex than the first video and still recognize why the sight of that face caused a visceral reaction in so many.

Bargaining:

[quoted tweet]
@JamesMartinSJ
Another essential lesson, which transcends whatever happened in Washington this weekend: an understanding of the appalling treatment that Native Americans have endured in our country. That lesson needs to be learned regardless of what you think of Covington High School.

...

Bargaining.

[quoted tweet]
@MollieOReilly
Every person now claiming those MAGA teens have been unfairly judged as racists is trying, consciously or not, to place Trump gear and MAGA hats in a neutral category. You don't let your kid wear a MAGA hat and then act offended when they get taken for a racist.

Bargaining

[quoted tweet]
@JessicaCoblentz
With all due respect to @JamesMartinSJ, racism and toxic masculinity are not about what is "inside the hearts of students"--or anyone. Racism and toxic masculinity are *NOT* about intentions. These are cultural and structural realities that often shape our actions unconsciously …

Bargaining

[quoted tweet]
@Alyssa_Milano

Let's not forget--this entire event happened because a group of boys went on a school-sanctioned trip to protest against a woman's right to her own body and reproductive healthcare. It is not debatable that bigotry was at play from the start.

I think that nasty little washed-up aged-out NPC bitch is being sued so she really ought to stop doubling down on her defamations.

McLellan sums up:

What every single one of these "bargains" has in common is it pivots the discussion away from the original (false) allegation that sparked the internet mob. PLEASE LET'S AGREE THEY ARE BAD. But if it's not about the *original* claim, it's bargaining.

This is just a variation (and barely a variation, at that) of the well-known process by which someone possessed of a false but attractive notion, like a beloved conspiracy theory, will not abandon that notion if the proofs he relies upon are shown to be false. He'll just search for new proofs that can prop up his cherished idea.

The evidence may shift and mutate, old evidence debunked and discarded, new evidence discovered or simply invented, but that wonderful CONCLUSION remains eternal and unchanging.

People are extremely egotistical when it comes to ideas. Especially very stupid people, who have so few ideas, and therefore each idea is especially valuable to them.

Once they have a stupid ego-flattering, worldview-confirming idea stuck in their stupid heads, they will do all sorts of stupid things to protect it. Stuff like organizing a coup against the president and then lying to the Inspector General, or bankrupting their magazine and going to work for leftwing Franco-Iranian billionaire Pierre Omidyar.

Not the point. They want him to either confess his lies or lie to a court under oath and expose himself to perjury charges.

Also, they will demonstrate what an untrustworthy guy he is, which hurts the media's claims that they did not have actual malice in pushing his lies.

Morning Panic: Joe Scarborough Blames Democrat 'Overreach' for Trump's Rising Poll Numbers

( CNSNews.com ) - "It's a heck of a turnaround," MSNBC's Joe Scarborough said at the start of "Morning Joe" on Thursday, as he cited President Donald Trump's rising poll numbers -- despite the government shutdown.

A Gallup poll conducted Feb. 1-10 shows Trump with 44 percent approval -- up from 37 percent in mid-January. "The latest increase in approval is mainly the result of political independents' improved opinions of Trump," Gallup noted.

Scarborough blamed Democrat "overreach" for boosting Trump, and he urged Democrats to be guided by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who "knows how to beat Donald Trump."

138 To answer question from last thread, insane provision of appropriations disaster is 224. Simplified, it will give de facto amnesty to any illegal who can show/invent/create/fake a connection to an unaccompanied minor, as a potential "sponsor"*.

Declaring nat'l emergency will not, I don't think, do anything about this outrageous disaster. Basically you're taking an already disastrous child-trafficking situation and turbo-charging it by making kids even more valuable, as props - as one observer put it, don't fret, illegal alien drug trafficker network big-wig in Lawrence, MA, all you need to do now is get a kid you can "sponsor". There is more to it, but the insanity just gets worse (e.g., the sponsorship scam is limited to *certain* sorts of criminals - not *all* serious felons would be allowed to use it - I don't think people have any idea how insane the situation ALREADY was on these matters).

Oh - and barrier construction is barred from several key areas of public land in the RGV, which are known high-use areas for cartel networks.

There's a small chance the bill will fail, saving Trump the humiliation of signing it.

To this day, they claim "the documents were fake, but we know it's true anyway", don't they?

FakeNews is nothing new. They're just more brazen, desperate, and obvious about it. Partly, it's because they know they have the new generation well-indoctrinated - they're EMBOLDENED by that. Partly, they've been driven mad by being denied their First Woman President, which they believed was a sure thing. Partly, it's because Trump has the balls to call them out, and intentionally steps on every nerve ending they have - he's awesome at getting The Beast to expose itself.

193 Lin Wood sounds like some sort of David Lynch movie.

I can see this guy in a white suit and sunglasses sitting in an overstuffed chair at the end of a long hallway lined with red velvet drapes and a black and white floor.

A blonde midget wearing a loincloth and a bow tie comes out of the floor, dancing and beating a drum. After a moment, he spontaneously combusts. We see the flames reflected in the sunglasses of the seated man as we hear the screams of agony. As the flames die, he casually leans over and lights a cigar on the trembling, whimpering embers.

A beautiful woman is suddenly next to him with a sequined outfit and a giant, plumed feathered hat. She uncorks a crystal decanter, pours, and hands him a glass. The man takes a file folder and tosses it on the glowing pile of ashes, the flames are momentarily stoked.

Suddenly, two men in white overalls slowly wheel a dilapidated box down the hall towards the man in white as the wheels squeak and rattle as we hear muffled knocks. As they near the man in the chair, the pounding becomes more frantic. the men rotate the box as if to show the man all sides. It is now we can see stenciled on one side "Butterball Powerbottom".

Fade to black.

I can see signing the bill, unless the bill limits actions that prevents PDT from building the wall. Perhaps he is going with the theory that declaring a national emergency negates any statutory limitations that are in this shitty deal.
In any event, he needs to steamroll getting this wall built, Hawaiian judge court decisions be damned to hell.

From what I'm hearing HERE, the paltry sum it provides for The Wall is a sham, PLUS it provides money to actually AID the invasion.

But if it simple gave too little money, yes, DO BOTH. Take the $1B (it's better than nothing) but still declare the emergency because the bill comes nowhere addressing that emergency.

257 This is just a variation (and barely a variation, at that) of the well-known process by which someone possessed of a false but attractive notion, like a beloved conspiracy theory, will not abandon that notion if the proofs he relies upon are shown to be false.

Well said. That's what "structural" really means; that one's concepts are so structured that the interpretation is built-in automatically. They're like people who look at dirt on the window and think they're seeing something outside.

They really can no longer help it. Their thinking is tightly constrained in a little mental circle, in which EVERYTHING has to be seen in terms of "oppression", by definition. Sometimes some major shock can break them out of it. But usually, the model just constricts further and further.

It's also hard to see that Cortez, by himself, didn't save more indigenous lives than all later Catholic could have possibly killed. It's sometimes argued he couldn't have won without the help of neighboring Indians. And that's plausible. But those who argue that never seem to wonder WHY the Aztecs' neighbors were so eager to help the Spanish. A real puzzler, that.

You can't retroactively put restrictions on monies that have already been allocated. There is some mischief you can attempt. But you can't change the statutory or Constitutional authority. There is too much precedent for things like reprograming within Executive Branch Departments and process around unobligated balances. Some f it is circumstantial (e.g. amounts, specific bill provisions) but some are not and at best simply require a notification to Congress.

Exactly. I've been thinking that one of the worst things to happen to the GOP was the Koch bros. Thanks to asylum scam, barriers will not necessarily affect any of the family unit or UAC flow.

Only help there could be from Mexico. They've actually taken baby steps to help (basically warehousing fake asylum petitioners in Mexico) - tiny bit in San Diego sector, an actual facility opposite a Texas city.

Once inside the US, the scam commences: inadequate detention facilities (further reduced by this bill), plus court-imposed restrictions on detention, mean they're released, rarely (fewer than 20%) to be seen again.

Why are the recent reduced hours and man power at the Canadian border ports of entries not being addressed as another systematic failure of Homeland Security?

403 Let's see how the press covers it when they start suing politicians. No immunity for stuff not said on the Senate floor!

405 Could a moron please repost the link Ace had in the sidebar a couple of weeks ago? It was only up one or two days and I failed to bookmark it. It was Twitchy's libel of the Covington kids.
Thanks.

406 The Covington matter encapsulates in one foul episode a number of the great political and cultural fault lines, gleefully used by an ever more militant Marxist/Socialist left wing, that are driving the country toward calamitous events already underway.

To list but a few: the wholesale nullification of constitutional rights, the profound sacking of the legal system by corrupting key principles such as due process, devaluing American citizenship to something approximating zero by tossing wide open the borders and granting non-citizens de facto citizenship upon arrival, a free press that has nearly replaced its main role of informing with that of self-appointed prosecutors, persecutors, and inquisitors, and a resurgent racial bigotry whose goal is to deem and destroy all the dare defy and cower from this putridness.

The use of propaganda and mob rule by these bastards is wielded like a master conductor leads; a master symphony of anger and hatred that keeps their cadres in a fevered rage and is now even willing to demand that children be burned alive in a school or tossed alive into wood chippers. What is more chilling is these bastards, at all levels ranging from government officials to the lowest Antifa street thug, expect not only be allowed to do these things but that they will be praised. These things are not the exception anymore but the new normal and are tantamount to war being waged upon us.

In this matter I have hope that Covington children will prevail and by doing so prove, at least for now, that these true Fascists can be stopped by our constitution, expressed in this case through the courts, and that their profound racial and social bigotry be burned at a metaphorical stake lit by that same constitution, legal system, and a deep outrage from those same good people that are still willing to stand against this madness.

407 ..

Piss test the diocese too.
Anyone who believes anything the media says about Trump or MAGA related stories these days has to be on something wild, like adrenochrome or Jimson Weed.

408 Jim Carey hardest hit.

409 Jim Carey was responsible for his young Irish girlfriend's suicide. He should be in hiding under a rock, not shooting off his pie-hole against protectors of the unborn. He's a devil.

411 Seeing how Nathan worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs, there is a pension to attach.

I am not too sure the can attach his Tribal money, some tribes allow it, some don't.

412 It was pretty obvious from the beginning that Phillips was a confabulating drunken used car salesman. How could anyone fall for his BS?

Then again, they fell for Obama's brand of bulshit
