It's a bit out of date, but a nice read, chock full of little tit-bits such as this, concerning Edward's regular trips to the spa town of Marienbad as well as his reputation as a seducer of women:

Recently we had plans to fly somewhere, and at the last minute my husband had a business trip that required him to fly from another city to our destination and meet us there, thus not using the first leg of his round-trip ticket. I made him call the airline and tell them he would be missing the first leg of the trip but would be using the second leg so they wouldn't invalidate his ticket. That happened to someone I know.

I feel sorry for her. From all appearances she has served her Country Honorably for 8, 9 years now. And she must have done a pretty decent job to get where she was. My recent root canal endodontist said they don't do precautionary (there's a better word I can't recall) antibiotics, and I had no issue with infection. But that used to be standard practice I guess.

Other than extrordinairy circumstancies, "precautionary" antibiotics is usually done because the treating dentist does not have time to start the procedure that day...not for any legit medical reasons. I never do that. Treat the problem and get it donw

My understanding is that all of his work product is to be turned over to the DOJ, and then the DOJ can either release it, sit on it, or burn it - their call, and their's only. One of the conflicts is that Adam Schiff's committee is likely to subpoena the results, and there's already speculation about the DOJ refusing to let him have them, on the basis of Separation of Powers.
Why would the DOJ just sit on it? We can speculate, but a lot of people think that's what will happen.

Agreed. Genetics play a major role in everyone's health. There are reasons some people drink and smoke and live to 90 and others do not. Americans hate that genetics matter because that is something we can't control. We want to be able to make a difference. We want to be able to buy a self help book and make a change that matters. Of course we can improve ourselves, but genetics are what they are.

In 1986 Congress pretty much gave blanket exemptions from FOIA to almost all Law Enforcement investigations regardless of any criminal charges or convictions.
Pretty sure unless they fabricate something to make Trump look bad, we aren't going to see anything. DOJ will report that meuller found no collusion with Russia and that will be that.
And we most certainly are not going to see meuller's team internal communications. Again, unless there is something in them to make Trump look bad.

In 1986 Congress pretty much gave blanket exemptions from FOIA to almost all Law Enforcement investigations regardless of any criminal charges or convictions.
Pretty sure unless they fabricate something to make Trump look bad, we aren't going to see anything. DOJ will report that meuller found no collusion with Russia and that will be that.
And we most certainly are not going to see meuller's team internal communications. Again, unless there is something in them to make Trump look bad.

have to take 4 500 mg. Amoxicillin pills 1 hour before dental work because of my hip replacements. But my dentist told me recently they may be doing away with that in the near future.

My sense is that it is in Trump's self interest to make all of Mueller's product available to the public. You know there are elements of information that were reported for no other reason than they would be leaked and used as a weapon against Trump. By making it all public as soon as possible does two things; inoculate Trump for 2020 and keep CNN chasing its tail.

Heh. My grandma passed in her sleep at age 95 in a nursing home. She had advanced, as in couldn't remember anyone in the family, dementia. I have often wondered if it was easier to just pass away not knowing what was going on. Especially since she was deathly afraid of doctors and icky medical things her whole life.

Reparations was the idea behind 40 acres and a mule. Maybe just do exactly that, but limited to the estimated numbers of actual slaves or slave families *freed* at the end of the civil war. Might not be workable in the end but it's certain that reparations was a real thing.

In other words, in diplomatic parlance, Iran doesn't really exist.
We use the Swiss and the Iranians use the Pakistanis for back channel communications, but nothing formal.
It's been that way ever since they took over our embassy and we took over theirs.
Iran still has an embassy here in Washington that the State Department maintains.
Iran has our embassy and has converted it into a tourist attraction to show how the Americans spied on the Iranians.
(That's rather rich because they accuse us of spying on the government of the Shah, who they accuse of being our ally. Is the contradiction lost on them?)
My point is this: Obama's nuclear deal was a nullity. The California High-Speed Choo-Choo was supposed to go from LaLa Land to San Franpsycho, but going up the coast was never an option because it would have annoyed the rich people who live there. This was Not-In-My-Backyard (NIMBY) so much as Not-In-Barbara-Streisand's-Backyard (NIBSBY).

It's a long story. best part, when we tried to put implants in during the second surgery and couldn't, the oral surgeon said "you know how wallboard just kinda crumbles when it gets yet? that's that this part of your jawbone looked like when I tried to drill into it."

I had a fistula, we tired anitbiotics, then we tried
a root canal. 2 years, 3 bone grafts and 4 oral surgeries later, it
finally got all fixed up. It's a long story. best part, when we tried
to put implants in during the second surgery and couldn't, the oral
surgeon said "you know how wallboard just kinda crumbles when it gets
yet? that's that this part of your jawbone looked like when I tried to
drill into it."

I had an unexpected benefit from that oral surgery - it stemmed from an injury 40 years ago, and I'd had persistent problems with my two front teeth and the area immediately above it off and on for forever. BUT for years I had problems breathing at night, always took antihistamines, thought I would need a CPAC - as soon as that hidden infection was finally rooted out, all of the sinus problems I'd had for years vanished overnight, and I've been breathing better than I have in years and years. as for antibiotics - in the year before the surgery, I took 6 rounds of antibiotics, differing types, hoping to get rid of it the easy way - none of them had any effect at all.

Back to weather for a sec... an initial report on January is out, and surprise, surprise - it was "warmer".
Now you might think that a month in which 21 days had high temps 5 degrees or more cooler than "normal" wouldn't be so, but that's why you're deplorable.
(goes this way - avg of the record high and average of highest low temp of the month vs average of historical record high and low. Means that this past Jan was .5 of a degree warmer!!!)

I am applying for PT jobs in order to help pay for the teen boys's tuition for college, As anyone know who has had to apply for retail jobs online you have to do a survey and they often ask you the same question 30 times basically relating to whether you will take or sell illegal drugs while on company time! (Sure I'm going to toke up during my lunch hour) or whether it's o.k. to steal from the company as long as it's a little amount (If I steal $5.00 a week that will pay for one month of my son's tutition after _____ weeks or if I steal $500.00 that will almost pay for a month tuition) No. I'm not going to steal anything or do druge, but do people seriously answer these questions in a negative light or they're just seeing if you're inconsistent?
Anyhoo, these as was one of my favorite statements so far "I have never gotten angry". You were supposed to say Agree or disagree or Agree or Disagree Strongly. I laughed. Did I mention that I may have a weird sense of humor. Spouse laughed too. It is good we are married to each other.

Another Alzheimer's study. The most coherent statement in the article was that it is an incredibly complex disease with possible multiple paths of causation. My opinion is, like cancer, it is not a single disease, rather it is a set of diseases with similar characteristics. The gingivitis bacterium path is apparently one more good reason to floss. I honestly can't recall the paterfamilias dental habits but I am doubtful on that scenario in his case.

Living with a parent with Alzheimer's naturally makes you wonder about the genetic component. I've perused multiple studies along those lines. Some of the earliest studies regarding Alzheimer's focused on the genetic aspect. I haven't found a definitive study in regards to that aspect. One thing that seems to be in agreement is that statistical analysis shows did the earlier in life that your family member is diagnosed with Alzheimer's the more likely it is that genetics is a key factor. Statistical analysis indicates that if your family member contracts the disease prior to 60 the likelihood that other family members Mets contract the disease is significantly higher.

It's understandable have winter taxes so many people that being said I think it's one of the most beautiful times of the year woke up this morning looking out my bedroom window down the hill and all these beautiful snow covered trees that being said I'm going to spend my day shoveling roofs on some of my outbuildings and then running a couple miles down the road to shovel the roof of an elderly friend it's all good personally I'd rather shovel snow than mow lawns

When I traveled regularly out of Chicago on business we normally booked flights from Milwaukee, canceled the Milwaukee to Chicago leg, and took our flight. Coming home we stopped at the Chicago connection. We saved money every trip. The only possible downside was that if you wanted to check your bag coming home it'd get checked to Milwaukee.
