Twitter Down 8% as It Continues Losing Millions of Users

On the upside, it posted its first profit ever.

On the downside, millions are abandoning the platform.

Twitter turned its first annual profit in 2018, but the company has a problem it doesn't want to talk about.

The company said Thursday it had 321 million monthly active users in the final three months of last year, down five million from the prior quarter and nine million from the same period a year ago.

That marked the third consecutive quarter of user declines. And soon, the company will stop disclosing the figure entirely.

NeverTrump, which seems to live almost exclusively in their twitter bubble VR fantasy RPG world, hardest hit.

The correlation between "Extremely Online" Twitter MMORP addicts and members of NeverTrump and the Resistance has got to be nearly 1.0. Do you know of any such persons who are not nigh-omnipresent on Twitter?

74 It was a simple life, but a beautiful one. The long days in the field, followed by a communal bounty of soy products at eventide, and readings of intersectional feminist masterworks by the firelight. Then, off to our bean-bag chairs for a night of sumptuous quiet in the countryside.

Every day was like that - glorious. And in the autumn, we'd harvest the content for the buyers, who'd come trundling into the market in their shiny ShareBlue trucks.

Until the Twitter famine came, and shattered our bucolic paradise. Nothing would be the same again. It truly was innocence lost.

I bet a lot of money went into Twitter/Facebook/Buzzfeed/etc. because those were the only investments that looked like they could turn a profit.

Utilities were being killed off by "green" energy and manufacturing was dead, dead, dead.

Now everything has changed. Manufacturing is booming, and so are resource extraction. An interest rate above zero percent means actually SAVING MONEY can make economic sense.

114 321 million active monthly users? Nope.

Early on, I was using Twitter accounts to monitor computing services. If the system was going near a critical phase, it would Tweet out an SOS. Those in the group could then subscribe to the tweets and receive notifications. New accounts were created and old ones abandoned periodically. It was temporary until a internal secure solution came to together, but those are hundreds of accounts that are floating around out there as orphans that never had a single opinion or dick pick to share.

Twitter, located in one the geographic epicenters of radical Progressives, with a culture of progressivism that is radical even to its own geography, is chalk full of young activist SJW activists including its Dear Leader.

I can't even imagine what it's like working for that company... Hyper activism, tribal interest groups, the tattle tailing, the employee education meetings and wall posters, the internal drama, the safe spaces, the distraught work absences...

Good GOD. I'd have to eat valium like M&Ms for breakfast just to go to work from my $800k, 1000 sq. Ft. apartment surrounded by homeless degenerates shooting smack on feces smeared sidewalks.

He was right.

Manufacturing is more economically stable than whatever model it is that Twatter is based on. Less prone to massive downturns in the overall economy than, say, tourism (like down here.) It's a solid, long-term money maker where the employees can move their way up the ladder.
Which is why politicians don't understand it and don't want to nurture that sector. Most of them are lawyers who operate on a totally different model of removing existing wealth, not generating it.

was giving china mfn and wto, and never adjusting our trade policy in

NAFTA played a very large part in the destruction of the middle class, as did your two examples. We got sold out, plain and simple. It actually would be quite easy for Brazil to move up and take control of all of the Eastern provinces, especially if they moved quickly - only one major hiway and no truly large towns. Columbia, coming from the west should be able to quickly grab everything around Maracibo, which is most of the oil industry. No need to go to Caracas, where most of the Venezuelan military is concentrated. It would be left isolated, as a rump state with no industry, while Guiardo could assume the Presidency over all of the "liberated" provinces.

With the rest of the country occupied and cut off, Caracas would fall without a shot in no more than a week or two. And no American troops needed.

This is a thought that has been in my mind for a long time. Everyone get some skin in the game. No more income tax. Doesn't matter where the money came from, when you spend it, we get our cut.

Rich enough to by a fancy car or fancy food? Pay up. Gets the under the table workers and the drug dealers and the other types of crooks.

Fat chance though that they'd get rid of the income tax. They'd just add it on top.
