The Quotes of The Day

Quote I

"They [Cuba] took a great country. They put it right down the drain in every way possible," Marcus said. "People are starving to death. Medical [care] is not available for them. And we have a group of people in Washington today, new representatives especially, that look at socialism as the way to go and if you don't think that's dangerous, I do." Bernie Marcus

Quote II

"It's time for a new generation to step forward. Bill Clinton, Donald Trump, and George W. Bush were all born within a few weeks of each other in the same summer of the same year and, you know, their generation has been the lead for a long time. I think it's time to give a new generation a chance." Pete Buttigieg, mayor of South Bend, Indiana

Quote III

“Every single instance of illegal voting threatens democracy in our state and deprives individual Texans of their voice,” said in a prepared statement. “My Election Fraud Unit stands ready to investigate and prosecute crimes against the democratic process when needed.” TX Attorney General Ken Paxton

Quote IV

Look at Venezuela and understand that you can vote yourself into socialism, but you have to shoot yourself out of it. John Hayward

'Zoomers' like older vroom-vroomers.

In a rather unsurprising new analysis by J.D. Power, young drivers in Generation Z (people born between the mid-'90s and mid-2000s) favor used cars with more features for less money over small, entry-level compacts on the new market. The most affordable new cars are meant to attract young drivers with low car budgets and introduce them to the brand thereby building loyalty. However, Gen Z kids (also known as “Zoomers” are apparently very aware that they can get more bang for their buck on the used market.

My money says she won't be the Democratic presidential nominee in 2020. My money is on her tax plan being adopted by whoever that is.

What are the details of Warren’s wealth tax?

Warren would impose a tax of two percent on any individual who has wealth (not income) with an estimated worth of $50 million, or three percent for those with net assets of more than $1 billion.

Nations with wealth taxes have steadily repealed them

Nine OECD nations have abolished their wealth tax since 1990. This includes Austria, Denmark, Germany, Finland, Luxembourg, and Sweden. France converted its former wealth tax into a graduated national real estate tax.

Only three OECD members have wealth taxes: Norway, Spain, and Switzerland. (Italy also imposes a tax on certain financial holdings overseas.)

Three Catholics arrested. Three Lutherans arrested. Three Amish arrested. Oh who am I kidding?

Three Muslim immigrants arrested in an ISIS plot.

Three Lansing men had pledged allegiance to ISIS and one was arrested at the Ford International Airport in Grand Rapids moments before he was to board a plane to join the terrorist group, federal authorities said.

The three men are charged with conspiring to provide material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization, namely the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS)

Big tent for the Dems. Unless you're gay.

Rep. Ilhan Omar just can't help herself.

After apologizing for claiming that Jews have hypnotized the world, she decided to jump on the Covington Catholic disaster with the worst possible hot take, by defending the black nationalist group involved in the confrontation.

Rep. Omar claimed that the students "were taunting 5 Black men". The actual video shows that the Black Israelite hate group, a racist and anti-Semitic movement, was doing the taunting.

To those that are gay, what did you expect?

Woman, minority and an elephant in the room. The political advancement of Kamala Harris through Willie Brown.

Elephant in the room: I’ve been peppered with calls from the national media about my “relationship” with Kamala Harris, most of which I have not returned.

Yes, we dated. It was more than 20 years ago. Yes, I may have influenced her career by appointing her to two state commissions when I was Assembly speaker.

And I certainly helped with her first race for district attorney in San Francisco. I have also helped the careers of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Gov. Gavin Newsom, Sen. Dianne Feinstein and a host of other politicians.

I doubt if Feinstein and Pelosi ever blew......oh never mind.

Good bye Joe Jackson. Joe Jackson was the survivor of three wars.

Yet one remarkable soldier not only returned from Vietnam but, in total, he came back unscathed from all three of the conflicts the U.S. engaged in during the middle half of the 20th century: World War II, Korea, and Vietnam.

If a soldier can be said to have been born under a lucky star, Joe Jackson certainly was.

Google maps, handy when driving and useful in crime fighting.

An accused “serial masturbator” was caught in Australia after four years of complaints thanks in part to Google Maps.

According to news.com.au, police arrested a 43-year-old man this week in Brisbane following a public “masturbation spree” that lasted from 2015 to 2019.

During that time, numerous women reported seeing the individual performing the lewd act along several suburban streets. The man frequented one street in Windsor so frequently that police discovered his image had been captured by a Google Street View vehicle.

He must have the hots for that girl and the car. Genius Award Winner.

Ride sharing services can be useful for a lot of things — like providing a means of transportation so you don’t have to drive to jail in a stolen car.

Yet that’s exactly what one man did recently when he went to bond out his girlfriend — who had been arrested for driving a different stolen vehicle — from the Gwinnett County Jail, police said.

Duluth residents Derrick Taylor-Canty, 26, and Akhria Cooper, 24, are now both behind bars, having been charged with felony and misdemeanor theft by receiving stolen property, altering serial numbers and several other charges for having four stolen cars in their possession, police said.

Disco sucks. Unless you are using it to save a life Tonight's Feel Good Story of The Day.

A scene from The Office that dealt with first aid technique is credited with helping to save a life after an Arizona man, despite having no CPR training, managed to resuscitate a woman in medical distress based on what he learned from the NBC comedy series.

In the scene, amid a barrage of bad advice from Steve Carell’s Michael Scott, the first aid trainer recommends to the employees that they perform CPR to the tune of the Bee Gees’ hit “Stayin’ Alive.”

24 G'Evening, Horde!

Thanks for the ONT, MisHum!

On the generational politician thing, the mayor isn't exactly going out on a limb. It is perhaps a foolish stance, but it is very likely that Trump will be the last Boomer president. Might squeak one more through, but the Boomers are getting pretty old and presidential politics is more of a middle-aged man's game.

The length of time that the Boomers have been able to hang on gives me one little glimmer of hope, though. If the Xers can do it again, and the Zs are as aggressive as they're made out to be, we might be able to largely skip the Millenials. Probably won't happen, but it might not be the worst of all possible outcomes.

73 Hey everybody.

Okay, time for Qdpsteve's Qsteak Qreview...

I went nutz with the seasonings and marinating this time. I marinated it in Tabasco. Midway through the marinade, I pulled it out of the fridge and rubbed in some vulcan fire salt, thyme and garlic powder, on both sides, then placed it back into the fridge.

When I finally pulled it out of the fridge about a half hour ago, it looked as if the steak had already shrunk a bit. It is/was a petit filet.

Onto a nice pre-heated grill on the stove it went. Then I decided to try a pat of margarine on top. (Smart Balance; my family loves it.) I set my time for 7 minutes, then folded my laundry.

Got back late: 8.25 minutes later. Turned it over with the pat still stuck on the top, so it sizzled in the melted margarine. Put another pat on top of the upside.

Back 5 mins later. Had a medium-well steak. (I know, I'm sorry.) ;-)

Long story already too long: I thought it was DELICIOUS. Nice fiery red pepper steak. Butter/margarine are definitely going on my list of steak ingredients from now on.

Next time, I'll shorten the amount of time the filet ends up on the stove; also I need a bigger, thicker filet. It wasn't big enough. I want more!! :-)

Okay, that's my review. Now back to your regularly scheduled ONT.

Yup. I have resorted to putting the cast-iron pan to one side of the burner, and propping the tender part up on a wooden spatula. While I usually go for the bavette, for cost reasons, a Porterhouse is still a pinnacle for me. You get the high flavor and high tenderness experiences in one steak, and it is gloriously on-the-bone, as the best meat experiences so often are.

Cattlemans at the Fabens exit around 30 miles from what used to be the eastern edge of El Paso on I-10. They make a steak that is insane (Wagonmaster 1lb. Cowgirl 1.5lb. Cowboy 2lb.) Last time I went, my mom and I flew in for my great uncle's funeral at Ft. Bliss. We went to Cattlemans, of course. They had this simple, lightly seasoned sausage appetizer fried in oil or butter (which I had never even tried their appetizers before.) It was amazing.

Commenter Chris Taylor nailed this one earlier today. Twitter is all about coddling the famous, even the slightly famous, in order to attract and keep those who want to rub elbows with them.

130 When you prepare a steak for grilling or pan-frying, if it was refrigerated, you should let it reach room temperature before dropping it on the cooking surface. I let it sit for one hour. If you marinade a steak (shudder), you must dry the surface of the steak as much as possible to get a decent sear, otherwise, the wet surface will turn to steam and you'll get a parboiled steak instead of a carmelized crust.

When you prepare a steak for grilling or pan-frying, if it was
refrigerated, you should let it reach room temperature before dropping
it on the cooking surface. I let it sit for one hour. If you marinade a
steak (shudder), you must dry the surface of the steak as much as
possible to get a decent sear, otherwise, the wet surface will turn to
steam and you'll get a parboiled steak instead of a carmelized crust.

This man can cook a steak.

My husband was in a rehab place, after hip replacement (second time for this hip). They knew he was on Medicare and started looking for creative ways to keep him there longer. They told me I had to have a home inspection and that they would have his Social Security shut off if I didn't. I checked to find out that was bull. Then I told them he was leaving. I grabbed his stuff, wheeled him put to the car and helped him get in. No one came after us.

If your husband is bored, it's time yo get him out. They can arrange for physical therapy elsewhere. Sometimes they are just looking at their bottom line, not what helps the patient the most.

=======================
Classic. CBD put up a weekend Food post devoted to cooking steak months ago. My recipe for ribeye and NY strip is pretty simple: I put the steak on a plate and sprinkle kosher salt on both sides of the cut. The meat should have an ample fat ring. After sitting on the counter for an hour, I rinse (quickly) the salt off the meat, twice on each side, then put it on a fresh plate. With several paper towels, I make sure that each side is as dry as possible. Then I put the cast iron skillet on the burner and turn it up to high heat. When the skillet is at temp, I pick up the steak with a pair of tongs and use the fat ring on the steak to liberally grease the skillet. You need beef fat to do this because it has a higher smoke temperature than vegetable oil. When there's enough melted fat on the skillet's surface, on goes the steak. Some people flip once, others multi-flip until the steak's surface is hard coated. Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for 15 minutes. Did I mention that the exhaust fan should be going full blast? A slightly opened window doesn't hurt, either.

247 Classic. CBD put up a weekend Food post devoted to
cooking steak months ago. My recipe for ribeye and NY strip is pretty
simple: I put the steak on a plate and sprinkle kosher salt on both
sides of the cut. The meat should have an ample fat ring. After sitting
on the counter for an hour, I rinse (quickly) the salt off the meat,
twice on each side, then put it on a fresh plate. With several paper
towels, I make sure that each side is as dry as possible. Then I put the
cast iron skillet on the burner and turn it up to high heat. When the
skillet is at temp, I pick up the steak with a pair of tongs and use the
fat ring on the steak to liberally grease the skillet. You need beef
fat to do this because it has a higher smoke temperature than vegetable
oil. When there's enough melted fat on the skillet's surface, on goes
the steak. Some people flip once, others multi-flip until the steak's
surface is hard coated. Remove the steak from the skillet and let it
rest for 15 minutes. Did I mention that the exhaust fan should be going
full blast? A slightly opened window doesn't hurt, either.

307 Besides the fact that the newsmedia hate us, another beef I have is that they don't do news anymore.

Here in my rust belt sh!thole city of 150,000 residents, the local paper and the local TV stations news is just crap. Ads masquerading as news stories, stories from wire services, press releases, but almost zero actual local reporting.

When they do report local crime, they rewrite police reports and descriptions to hide the race of suspects, and they hide the identities of all the feral juvies that are waging low-intensity warfare against the law-abiding. (And they slag the local citizen-reporters who take up the slack!)

And these local news outfits employ hundreds of people. Why? They don't seem to do anything useful.

Well, on the latest survey of most dangerous USA neighborhoods, we scored twice! Abandoned structures everywhere, although an arsonist has been working his way thru them diligently for over a year.

Murders, home invasions, carjackings, stickups, bank robberies, drive-by shootings, and our very own specialty: car-to-car gunfire EVERY dam day. I'm a marksman, and I just do not see the point of car-to-car gunfire. They'll never hit what they think they're aiming at.

My mom had a physical therapist come out to the house after she left the rehab. A home physical therapist addresses issues specific to your home. For instance in my mom's house, in order to get her to the car in the garage, she had to go down two steps. So that was one of the things they worked on.
They can also give you advice on equipment you can get, for instance for the shower, to avoid another fall.

Yes and no. Leftist grab the leadership positions of innocent charities and making them leftist organizations. I'd rather leave charities alone, but once they became me political they are no longer tax deductible. Churches have to be careful about this, unless they are in certain urban areas.

Posted by: Evasiveboat42 at January 28, 2019 11:25 PM (Rz2Nc)

408 Given the extreme effort that went into creating books, scribes and book owners had a real incentive to protect their work. They used the only power they had: words. At the beginning or the end of books, scribes and book owners would write dramatic curses threatening thieves with pain and suffering if they were to steal or damage these treasures.

They did not hesitate to use the worst punishments they knew - excommunication from the church and horrible, painful death. Steal a book, and you might be cleft by a demon sword, forced to sacrifice your hands, have your eyes gouged out, or end in the "fires of hell and brimstone."

I mention that only because it is well known here.

There are hundreds of them that you never hear about. They just go about doing good, generally depending largely on volunteers.

456 Here's the thing about the rule that allows foundations created by business people (Rockefeller, Carnegie, Pew, Macarthur) and universities (huge endowments) to sit on money, and use them for purposes contradictory to the intent of the original donors-

The 5% rule is in part an IRS/Treasury rule that can be changed tomorrow (hey-Mnuchin), but has been put into statute in awkward ways.

It is simply another Golden Cow.

Giza Cotton[8] is type of high-quality cotton which is preferred choice among high-end shirtmakers, because of its long staple length.

So there you have it.

543 A big problem is no one ever held socialism and communism accountable. They were partnes with the Nazi's before America got into the war. A swastika is rightly shunned in society, we'd never treat someome wearing it with any respect or allow people praising in polite company. But a hammer and sickle is completely ignored, people wear it without any regard for what it stands for, people can run on a platform and be taken seriously.

Socialism is Nazism with a trillion dollar PR effort, hopefully when these politicians get in an actual debate, someone will point out the history of what they support and how they should be treated as despicable trash.

Obviously the various evil movements/systems responsible for so much murder and misery in modern history have diverse characteristics (Nazism's worst elements stemmed from hallucinogenic racism/paranoia; Soviet totalitarianism was mostly a refinement/perfection of terror-based tyranny as old as human civilization).

It's the common elements that deserve most attention. Of those, one obviously stands out: unlimited central state power.

567 Aetius, that's sort of implicit in the whole unlimited state power thing, but in most cases there wasn't a whole lot of disarming to do. People in what became the USSR had little history of firearm ownership (hunting firearms and colorful bandit-ish traditions in the Caucasus and parts of Central Asia being the exceptions).

Chinese and Cambodians had virtually no history of being generally armed. Germany, apart from rural areas (again, hunting), actually wasn't generally armed either (there was some issue with WWI weaponry not being turned in, and some of that was involved in Weimar-era festivities).

In the US - very different history - and disarming the population here could have only one purpose or "benefit" (almost all gun owners are law-abiding and together represent 0% of any social or security problem in the US).

I'd always thought the citizenry being disarmed by law had a long tradition in Europe and other places... Bearing arms (weapons, not hunting tools -- but, hell, even hunting was a noble privilege in most places!) was a sign of nobility, and not being allowed to carry a sword or the like under penalty of death was the mark of serfdom!

I would argue that disarming the populace has had always pretty much the same end goal- the inability of the populace to seek the ultimate redress of grievances against their government. No matter when or where this took place, or for even 'good' reasons.

599 That top photo reminds me of Tahiti... which always makes me think of The Bounty, a subject I've always found fascinating.

What I find most interesting is the tendency of modern "historians" to rehabilitate Bligh while rejecting out-of-hand the claims of the mutineers. Give me a break. Bligh was mutinied 3 freaking times in his life! After the third time (when the entire NSW Corps deposed him as Governor of New South Wales), the Admiralty was faced with yet a third instance of Bligh doing everything "by the book" but failing completely to successfully lead or govern men under his command, they symbolically promoted him, but refused to ever let him command anything again. (Don't get me wrong, the Corps was corrupt as hell from their illegal rum trade, but Bligh had been sent to preserve order, not increase chaos, which he did almost immediately.)

He may have been a truly talented seaman (his successful journey to Timor in a tiny landing craft with 19 other men with no charts was a fine piece of sailing, no doubt), but he had no skill whatsoever in commanding the respect of anyone under his command. That makes him an utter failure in my book.

Wow, I really didn't expect to write a post this long. Well, good evening to everyone.

601 599. I have no dog in this fight. It could be that Bligh was a lot like Braxton Bragg. Bragg knew a lot about warfare, strategy, and tactics, but he could not get along with his subordinates. They were always scheming against him and that added to his angry demeanor.

But here is the thing. This stuff works both ways. Bragg was weak at dealing with subordinates but he also had subordinates that were weak at not scheming against their boss. In the end it takes two to tango. And in the case of Bragg's Army, it took two to suck and lose.

I don't know enough about Bligh to take a position. You certainly know more about the subject and I go into the issue thinking you are probably right. OTOH, it is interesting that the revisionist history is supporting Bligh. You would think they would go for anarchist, free love figures, not the staid British ship captain. I get that some people who write history just have to be contrarian. But is interesting that they are trying to rehabilitate Bligh. This makes me want to learn more about it.

Because you are correct, and this specific example to me shows how much the original is diminished because of correctness. A few friends and I, who saw the original many times, were sitting around and asking this same question.

1974, viewed through the lens of 2019. I would not have guessed that censorship "for the common good" would be a thing. I would have expected the opposite. The brilliance of Mel Brooks is taken away when something other than the entire movie is shown.

My friend gave me a 20th Anniversary dvd of the movie, with Mel providing some good stories as extras. The best one was about who was originally signed to play The Waco Kid and why Gene Wilder ended up in the role. No spoilers from me on that one!

My recommendation is to buy a copy before it goes down the politically correct memory hole like Mark Twain's 'Tom Sawyer' and 'Huck Finn'.

This generational stuff is nonsense. Allow me to explain in one of my favorite things to bring up when everyone's favorite word ("millennial"!) is brought up: The millennials all went for McGovern in 1972.

The point of that is to say that you cannot make judgments based on when people were born. What we see with young people today is no different than when we were younger: some of us were indeed naive and foolish. Some of us grow out of that, some don't.

We need to start treating people as individuals in this country. I know it is very unfashionable to do so but we should try it sometime for the hell of it.

616 Dad did the trifecta of WW2, Korea, and Vietnam without ever firing a shot at the enemy. Signal Corps microwave tech. 23 years active duty. That retirement paid him a present value adjusted cool $1 million for 40+ years. Enlisted at 17 years old in 1944 Army Air Corps. 9th grade drop out from West Virginia.

He did it to escape the coal mines or steel factories.

"I didn't get nothing. I had to pay $50 and pick up the garbage."

what are ya in for, kid?

"Littering"And they all moved away from me on the bench there, and I said "And creating a nuisance", and they all came back and shook my hand, and had a great time on the bench....

yep, can't get it out of my head.

619 About Guthrie's 'Alice's Restaurant' that was recorded and made into the side of an album: He was performing at some concert festival, and scheduled for early morning. He played 'Alice's Restaurant', so they brought him back for an afternoon performance. The audience liked him and the song so much, they brought him back for a nighttime performance, which is the recording/version we are all familiar with. That's why some of the 'ad libs', like playing while 'waiting for the song to come around; he it comes' are even funnier knowing that was his third performance of that song in one day and it's not a short song, by any means.

620 "If the Xers can do it again, and the Zs are as
aggressive as they're made out to be, we might be able to largely skip
the Millenials. Probably won't happen, but it might not be the worst of
all possible outcomes."

This generational stuff is nonsense. Allow me to explain in one of
my favorite things to bring up when everyone's favorite word
("millennial"!) is brought up: The millennials all went for McGovern in
1972.

The point of that is to say that you cannot make judgments based on
when people were born. What we see with young people today is no
different than when we were younger: some of us were indeed naive and
foolish. Some of us grow out of that, some don't.

We need to start treating people as individuals in this country. I
know it is very unfashionable to do so but we should try it sometime for
the hell of it.

Posted by: CatchThirtyThr33 at January 29, 2019 04:14 AM (QE913)

I agree you have to judge men one at a time. There are obviously great Millenials, such as those who serve in the military. But it is also fair to see a generation for what it is. The facts are that that Millennials do love man buns, tattoos, and not buying houses. The facts are that Millennials are the generation most open to socialism than what, those of the 20s or 30s? The facts are that Millennials would rather take a picture of their food than eat it. The facts are that Millennials as a group care zippy about American History.

One thing that must be pointed out about Millennials, is that they did not get this way from out of nowhere. Their Gen X parents should carry much of the blame (or credit). They did not teach the next generation well. When we discuss helicopter parents and college administrators that get pushed around by their students, who are we discussing? No, this state of affairs is not just on Millenials, it took several generations to come up with this achievement.

The Millennials have actually done something very few generations have accomplished. They have spread their ethos to older generations. The nation has become more lefty, less serious, and more demanding, and this is shown to be the case in several generations. Those who study these things have noted it. It is very rare when a young generation imparts its ethos on the older generations. An obvious example of this is the smart phone addiction. This is certainly not just a Millenniall thing. But that is just an example, the effect has been shown across the board on all political issues.

621 261 I like Duran Duran, but I always thought the song Rio sounded like a thrown-together piece of slop.

Also, after 35 years, I still can't figure out for the life of me what "New Moon On Monday" and "Union Of The Snake" are about. Probably nothing.

I've never bothered to look too deeply into Duran Duran songs. And believe me, I have heard them all thousands of times, growing up across the hall from a Duran Duran obsessed sister.

I will say this: I made it a point to play "New Moon On Monday" on Monday, August 21, 2017, for a rather spectacular new moon on that day. (Not during the event though.)

626 307 Besides the fact that the newsmedia hate us, another beef I have is that they don't do news anymore.

I guarantee you if the mayor of Amarillo paid them a visit they would not have any clue who she is. And even naming the idiot State Senator that I unfortunately share with them? I doubt they could manage that.

I watch for the weather - the only original, local content on that channel - and that is IT.

I like My Pillow. Have one now nearly a year. Used to use down pillows, and generally didn't like other foam type ones.

The important thing is to get the right sized one. Go to their website and it tells you. There are 3 or 4 different fill sizes in their Premium model. The Standard model - pass on it. The website tells what size to choose based on your size and how you sleep, side or back. I'm a big guy and use the blue sized label king. Have also used the green, but just a bit small for me, but that one is the 3rd largest size. The right size for you is everything. They are shipped compressed, so you throw them in the dryer for a cycle and they are ready to go.

Washing and drying it every few weeks is nice, it comes back like new.
And they give you a 60 day mbg.

Stand in line waiting for bread, or have the bread waiting for you?

It seems a small inconvenience for members of the resistance to endure. True believers in limited government, one party system should be eager for that day to arrive.

Same with the campaign joke about Russia. When he said that joke, you'd think he openly admitted to being a Russian agent. Like islam, there is no fun in the Left and which is one reason why they make such strange bedfellows. Since most humor is non-PC, The Unknown Comic with a Ball Gag is their idea of humor.

703 Well, jury duty was a bust. A lot of waiting around while 3 different people (commissioner, judge, baliff/security) welcomed you, told you how important you were for the American system and what the rules were for being a juror.

That and waiting took two hours. Then they got groups formed up for 3 different trial.
After another hour of waiting, we went into the courtroom, met the judge, who explained all the rules again, all the attorneys, and the defendant who was charged with DUI and a felony DUI.
Okay, lets get to juroring!!
Not so fast. 14 of us take a seat in the jurors box. Judge asks us to tell them if we are married, employment, spouses employment, kids, kids ages and some other stuff.
Okay!! Lets get to juroring!!
Not so fast. Time for lunch recess now. We go back to the jury room, I eat my PB and J. And wait,,,,and wait..
Finally about 20 minutes from when we thought we would go back to court room, we are all herded into a small room, the judge is there, we were told they settled it out of court, and we were dismissed. Judge thanked us and shook all 30 of our hands.

So, 25 sweet sweet dollars in my pocket for eating a PBJ and drinking crap coffee.
Not a bad gig

Youtube is the same way. If you go there not logged in, you will get their generic page. It is unfunny Trump bashing from stem to stern. These people know they are not funny, they know they are not original, they know they are not even respected. It doesn't matter. The constant barrage DOES have its affect. It does damage Trump and all Republicans. They are willing to lose credibility to bring down their ideological opponents. It is Kamikaze in some ways, but that is just the way it goes.

What the large print giveth, the small print taketh away. They haven't even done any human trials yet.

Drudge recycles the same headline every six months. It's all stuck in the same point in the process, no human testing. In the USA, that's another decade.

Now listening to the Piano Concerto by Alexander Dreyschock, as performed by Piers Lane.

Dreyschock was a 19th century virtuoso pianist. He once performed for the Emperor of Austria. It was a very warm day and Dreyschock was playing furiously. At the end of the recital, the Emperor spoke to him, "My dear Dreyschock, I have heard Liszt.." Dreyschock bowed. "I have heard Thalberg.." Dreyschock bowed deeper. "But never have I seen anyone sweat the way you do."

I have had good luck with the My pillow. They support your head without being too firm. They are easy to wash unlike most other pillows. They definitely do not last forever and can split open.

I think the ones at the store are generic sizes. You need to get your size from the website. If that fits with the store size, then so much the better.
