Bruce Ohr Testified That He Repeatedly Told Senior DOJ and FBI Officials That the Dossier Was Suspect and Paid for By Hillary Clinton, But the DOJ and FBI Hid That From the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court Anyway

Trust your political commissars masquerading as law enforcement and intelligence officials.

Virtually everyone at the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Justice Department involved in the FBI's counterintelligence probe of candidate Donald Trump knew from the beginning that the investigation, dubbed "Crossfire Hurricane," was based on shaky opposition research compiled by a Trump-hating former British spy and funded by Hillary Clinton's campaign.

Bruce Ohr, the demoted associate attorney general, testified to Congress last August that he repeatedly warned top officials at the FBI and DOJ about Steele's bias and Fusion GPS's conflicts of interest, yet this information was kept hidden from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court.

And to add insult to injury, instead of investigating the officials who actively participated in the dossier hoax, Special Counsel Robert Mueller hired several of them to be on his team to investigate President Trump.

...

Ohr testified that he stressed that the information he was sharing came from Trump's political opponents in the Clinton camp and warned that it was unverified and likely biased.

"When I provided [the Steele information] to the FBI, I tried to be clear that this is source information," he testified. "I don't know how reliable it is. You're going to have to check it out and be aware. These guys were hired by somebody relating to--who's related to the Clinton campaign, and be aware."

He also told the team that Steele was "desperate that Donald Trump not get elected" and that his own wife, Nellie Ohr, worked for Fusion GPS, the opposition research firm that compiled the dossier.

According to a leaked transcript of Ohr's closed-door testimony to the joint House Judiciary and Oversight and Government Reform Committees last Aug. 28, he waved all these red flags well before the FBI filed its October application for a surveillance warrant against Carter Page.

Strange that Ohr felt the need to warn the DOJ and FBI about Steele's bias and unreliability, but the DOJ and FBI felt the need to hide these exact same warnings from the FISA court.

And this is also a problem: The "Crossfire Hurricane" team claims to not have known nothin' about no dossier until September 2016, but Ohr says he told the team about it on July 30.

That's important, because the Crossfire team continues lying about whether these unverified dossier reports were used to secure the FISA authorization. Their claim is that they couldn't have relied on the dossier, because they didn't even know about it.

But they did know it, and lied to a FISA court to conceal what they knew about it.

The five top DOJ and FBI officials who signed off on the four successive warrant applications -- James Comey, Andrew McCabe, and Justice Department officials Sally Yates, Dana Boente, and Rod Rosenstein -- appear to have violated statutes.

Say, isn't the Special Counsel prosecuting a lot of people for making false statements to investigators?

Will they be likewise investigating themselves?

And this might shake your faith in government, but it turns out Adam Schiff might have been lying about this the whole time:

(1) Everyone involved at the FBI and DOJ indeed did know from Day-1 in early 2016 that the Steele Dossier was Hillary Clinton opposition work product.

(2) Relying exclusively on the Dossier and its byproducts, the FBI submitted a 412-page FISA application with a single footnote, in which the FBI didn't tell the FISA court that Hillary Clinton paid for the production of the Dossier, that the Dossier was distributed by the FBI-husband (who worked on the narcotics beat at the FBI) of a Fusion GPS contractor (whoa Nellie!) to Clinton supporting members of the FBI and DOJ, including Weissman, who is now on Mueller's team, out to get Trump.

Easy bet is that Trump will declare National Emergency and direct military to start building the wall.

What's the over/under on how many minutes after Trump's announcement the first lawsuit is filed? Can you file on Saturday? Once filed, I think emergency restraining order can only issue after 24 hours from filing, so it will take that long for an injunction to be put in place, which is as certain as the sun rising tomorrow.

204 Let's not forget about this story:

"Declassified memos show FBI illegally shared spy data on Americans with private parties."

Citation: https://tinyurl.com/ybo33fsj

"But by early 2017, the court became more concerned after the Obama administration disclosed significant violations of privacy protections at two separate intelligence agencies involved in the Section 702 program....The most serious involved the NSA searching for American data it was forbidden to search. But the FBI also was forced to admit its agents and analysts shared espionage data with prohibited third parties, ranging from a federal contractor to a private entity that did not have the legal right to see the intelligence."

Huh. So, 2016 surveillance of Trump's campaign based on evidence 100% provided by Hillary Clinton and sharing of "raw intelligence" in 2016-2017 time period with unnamed third-party contractors. Huh.

So, basically "raw intelligence" vacuumed up about the confidential machinations of the Trump campaign was shared with an unnamed third-party "contractor." Sure would be interesting to know who that contractor was, don't you think? Seems like it could be, you know, significant, if that contractor was associated with Hillary Clinton.

Mueller isn't even asking for jail time because Flynn has been cooperating for a year with him. But not about Trump.

Judge Sullivan practically begged him to withdraw his plea before getting pissed off at him when he wouldn't. And the the sentencing got delayed once again.

Meanwhile John Solomon has been reporting for a couple months that the DIA has a document that will clear Flynn. Something is not adding up with the Flynn case.

268 What is the phrase? Fruit of the Poison Tree?

=========

It's way more fundamental than the criminal evidence rule Fruit of the Poisonous tree. FISA is a procedure for intelligence collection on foreign threats, to be distinguished from FBI domestic surveillance conducted upon award of warrant based on probably cause to collect evidence to be used in a criminal proceeding. FISA information isn't supposed to cross the divide. It's supposed to be used by CIA/NSA spooks in intelligence gathering, and any information collected is not supposed to be used as evidence in a domestic criminal trial, because absent from the FISA process are the protections guaranteed to US citizens under the US Constitution.

Of course, this has proven to just be theory. Obama (and Brennan) and the FBI and the DOJ just did whatevs so they could plug into and listen to the Trump campaign. The Dossier and this whole Russia thing was just the window dressing on the backstory to get from point A to point B. But when Trump won, and all this was sure to be made public, the players suddenly had to pretend it was real, hence the charade that started on Jan. 6 when Comey first briefed Trump on the Dossier, followed by Buzzfeed article on Dossier, followed by coordinated wolf-pack stories by Progressive leftists on Muh Russia, and then the Special Counsel (allowing the underlying facts to remain unreachable by Trump and the GOP-led Congress).

304 It's also known that British Intelligence members, do not actually retire. They become 'inactive' and are not usually called up but the can be. It's part of their contract.

Thus Mr. Steele is still an intelligence operative. It is also well known that much of the intelligence community both here and in Britain were adamantly opposed to Trump being President.

It is not beyond the realm of possibility that British Intelligence cooperated in an operation (with deniability by saying Steele was retired) that was aimed at eliminating Trump as President or his influence as has happened.

Look at what they're doing in their own country. This whole Brexit thing has been staged to reverse the referenda that demanded that Britain leave the EU. And yet now they look like they will forego that deadline and remain.

Great Britain along with the EU are the centers of the ongoing operations to create a Global Union and Economy. They are responsible for the various UN objectives that are attempting to negate US sovereignty and the rule of our Constitution so as to make it easier for a Global Government to take over.

This ain't just about Dems vs Repubs. It's about the continued existence of the US and the US sovereignty.

Open borders are also a part of this attack. Paid for by rich operatives of various governments.

We are facing the greatest, most organized and well funded attack ever in our history.

308 Look, I have a theory.

These FBI guys imagine themselves in rather lofty terms - heroes, protecting our democracy.

They got this information, and misused it. Bent a few rules. Got suckered.

But see, they are the heroes. They can't have fucked up this bad, could they? Shouldn't we all just forgive them? So what we see is a lot of scrambling around, trying to fix things, trying to put the genie back in the bottle. Lots of justfications.

In fact, if they don't find something, then they are really in for it, right? i mean, say you illegals tap a phone, people might be more lenient on you if you stop a major terrorist plot, right?

So they are way overly invested in this Russia thing because if it is not true, then they are bad people, and they know they are not bad people.

Posted by: TheQuietMan at January 18, 2019 07:36 PM (SiINZ)

317 Y5 the lawless judiciary has already jumped all historic barriers on national security-related deference to the executive, with admissions/immigration matters. Starting with the absurd (in both substance and procedure) interference in Trump's travel EO, back at the start.

The absurdities keep coming. "Standing" is now defined, de facto, as opposing USG policy. The constitution, statute, case law, and centuries of history are being tossed aside, casually. Each week brings a new outrage.

Dan Horowitz of Conservative Review tries to keep a handle on this, and his stuff is worth following. But I am struck by the near-silence on this whole topic. The legal cult mindset is overpowering, it appears almost nobody in the system, even "conservatives", can face reality, or what is needed to restore constitutional order and common sense.

I think when the judiciary tries to sabotage an emergency declaration of the sort Trump might make on the border, Trump will no longer have any choice - he'll have to issue an ultimatum, in which the hammer is repudiation. He's arguably violated his oath already by indulging the increasing lawlessness of the courts, which has grown by the month.

If the issue was criminal prosecution, I would think Trump has a great case to exclude much of the evidence Mueller collected (would take years to litigate the evidentiary issues alone). But this has never been about criminal charges. It's primarily been a cover-up and protection play benefitting bad actors, and secondarily a justification for impeachment, which has no rules or evidentiary procedure.

But, I would think Trump has a monster Civil suit for violation of Civil Rights. Honestly, the fact that his team hasn't filed such a lawsuit is what worries me most that Trump may have something to hide here.

342 Great Britain along with the EU are the centers of the ongoing operations to create a Global Union and Economy.

We are facing the greatest, most organized and well funded attack ever in our history.

constitutional order and common sense.

358 jake there's a lot more than general reasons to think that Brit intel community was hip-deep in this idiocy.

"Former" (as you point out, a somewhat ambiguous concept in this case) Brit intel people, in their private intel outfits, figure prominently/overlap personnel with people ID'd as part of the US plotters' attempts to gin up a rationale for surveillance ("OCONUS lures").

And the resignation of the GCHQ (NSA equivalent) chief, timing of which was intriguing when laid against the timeline of this whole ridiculous scandal.

I want those lasting impressions, and I want them to be made widely known.

370 Not seeing anything on Buzzfeed.

Remember that Buzzfeed is a creation of Ben Smith.

He of Journolist server fame.

Ben is a Democrat party operative. He runs a clearing house for 'news' outlets to get the latest talking points and key words straight so they're all on the same page. I'm guessing that some sort of thing like the Journolist list server is also in action so they can discuss and apportion tasks to create false news and news trends guided by the protection and enhancement of the Democrat party.

They are there to also throw gasoline on fires that aren't exploding and water on those that are that are undesirable to the Democrat party.

Be careful with anyone named Sara who uses a middle initial. Let me tell you --

Back when I was doing Twitter, there was @sarampage. I didn't know who this Sara M. Page was, but she was really into hockey. I was immediately smitten. I mean, someone out there was not only into hockey, but minor-league hockey -- a true fan, someone who seemed to know everything about the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey Leag--

-- Sara M. Page isn't Sara M. Page after all -- it's S.A. Rampage. (Dreams shattered; vacation plans to Texas canceled.)
