Why? The military has long shuttled government employees on these kinds of trips, and this was likely prepared months ago. If Congress says, "We want to go to X,Y, and Z countries, the State Department and DoD are hardly going to say, 'No.' At least, not without the WH backing them up.

I thought that. I still think that could have happened. the problem is the Dems fucked with trump one time too many. However, if the Left has approached PDT as a Friend and tried to work with him, I think we all would have been disappointed. I am a Right Wing Ideolog. PDT is not. What he wants is to get things done. If he could have gotten a lot of things done with a compromise with the right and left, he would have done it.
