It's never been a question of whether Sessions should have recused himself. The issue was always that Sessions should have told Trump when he was discussing his nomination that he would have to recuse himself and Trump could have picked someone else. THAT is what Trump has always been pissed about.

My issue with that is the tribalism it showed. When his constituents were having their livelihoods destroyed he never peeped. When a fellow Republican congressman was shot and nearly killed *for being Republican* he never said a thing. When another *senator* of his party was brutally attacked and badly injured he had nothing to say. But when a fellow bushite swamp critter was libeled (and it was libel and worth being upset about, don't get me wrong) *then* he grew a spine and took a stand. I want some time to see if that spine implant is permanent and not just for the benefit of personal friends.

It's really not. Go back and look at the actual sequence of events. Particularly now that we know more about the beginning of the counterintelligence operation opened on Trump by McCabe.
McCabe was the chief whipping boy of Congress because that was his job. But Congress is largely a group of blowhards looking for TV time not a real investigative branch.

I've long struggled around here, on exactly how to judge candidates and such. Never been a believer in "better the Repub than the Dem". I was intrigued by rickb's vote out the incumbent strategy for a while.
I think I'm just going with a Cannibal Bob paradigm. Makes as much sense as anything else.

Man I don't know how many times I have to say this. Go back and listen to his testimony to the House. Pay particular attention to how he answers the question about the FISA warrant.
This has been known for almost a year now. I don't know why people are so resistant to actually listening to the words that were spoken over a narrative that is false.

Graham is a Baptist and has flat out said he is not a homosexual. He said he just never had much time to find a girlfriend/wife considering the time he has spent in the military, college, Law school, then juggling being in the House then Senate, while serving in the Reserves.
The Democrats are trying to play the "Republicans so hate gays that a gay man has to stay in the closet to get elected by them" game. And since that isn't working, they are going to start rumors now for the MSM to run with that Graham has serious perversions he practices( which of course, considering the amount of security clearance he has always had as a congress member, a JAG member, and serving on different committees with the highest clearance, would be something that would have gotten his clearances pulled) .
Remember, what they accuse you of doing, is actually what they are doing themselves.

From corrupt people at the FBI and DOJ. McCabe opened a counterintelligence investigation on Trump with ZERO evidence. He did this while he was acting head of the FBI.
Rosenstein opened the SC to get the investigation away from McCabe and his cronies and into a position he could control. Mueller was appointed the day after he and Rosenstein met with Trump.
An investigation was always going to happen. The coup plotters had created to strong a narrative for some sort of investigation not to happen. Rosenstein took it from them and oversaw it and Trump has never been in any real danger since then.

Go listen to the piece yourself. I'm tired of answering this question over and over and over and over and over. He was quite clear that what he signed is NOT what has been publicly speculated and he was happy to have Horowitz review his actions.
Trump is constantly praising Rosenstein. Has invited him to the White House for personal functions and called him out for praise publicly. Now Trump's handpicked AG is praising Rosenstein and said he has done "an excellent job".
Trump could have gotten rid of Rosenstein at anytime. He hasn't. He's even letting him stay as long as he wants after saying he was going to retire.
And some point it's worth considering that maybe the narrative is wrong.

But Mueller, a good guy? I can't buy it. Hard-nosed as Trump is, I can't see him signing on off that horse faced SOB terrorizing a bunch of loyal Trump underlings, humiliating and bankrupting and jailing them, for his own political reasons. I just don't buy that Trump is that heartless.

Jack, Rosenstein brought Mueller to Trump to interview for FBI director. When that didn't work, Rosenstein named Mueller SC. On its face, anyhow, it appears Rosenstein wanted Mueller in a powerful position to keep a lid on the DOJ abuses.
I don't buy Mueller is a decent person in any way. No one that conflicted would have accepted the position of SC unless they were dirty.
I've learned much about process from you and thank you for that, but this an opinion (obviously) and I simply can't fathom why you hold it. Everything indicates the opposite about Rosenstein and Mueller, up to and including terrorizing witnesses and suspects in a manner not becoming a democracy.
