"A Little Gift" for Italy: Brazil Deports Leftwing Italian Terrorist, Who Had Long Had Asylum Under Leftwing Brazilian Presidents, Back to Italy and Back to Jail

They keep telling me that I should be afraid of these Trump-Like Presidents arising around the world.

I'm not sure why I should be afraid.

This terrorist actually fled Brazil last year when he realized a right-wing president was going to be elected. He was actually in Bolivia when arrested. Now, I don't know the details of why he was then sent back to Brazil (who then sent him back to Italy) or why Brazil is taking credit for his capture. Did they provide intel? Were Brazilian agents present when he was arrested? Or is Brazil taking credit on the theory that he only fled his place of refuge because he knew the new president would extradite him to finish his jail sentence?

I don't know, to be honest. Brazil had something to do with this, but I don't know the extent of it.

Cesare Battisti, the Italian militant who spent decades on the run after being convicted of four murders in the 1970s, has been captured in Bolivia and will be extradited to Italy, authorities in Brazil and Italy said on Sunday.

"Italian terrorist Cesare Battisti was detained in Bolivia and will be soon brought to Brazil, from where he will probably be sent to Italy to serve a life sentence," tweeted Filipe G. Martins, a senior aide on international affairs to Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro.

...

Battisti, a founding member of far-left Italian radical group Armed Proletarians for Communism, was convicted in absentia in 1993 of four political killings committed in the 1970s and sentenced to life in prison.

He was arrested late Saturday by local police and a special Interpol team including Italian investigators as he was walking alone on the streets of the Bolivian city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra.

...

Matteo Salvini, the Italian interior minister, praised Battisti's arrest and tweeted a caricature of him sitting in a deck chair on the beach headlined "The party is over".

...

On Sunday Eduardo Bolsonaro, the son of president Bolsonaro, tweeted to Mr Salvini: "Brazil is no longer a land of bandits. The 'little gift' is coming."

"Thoughts and prayers to the family of the victims of a murderer who has for years enjoyed a cowardly and lonely life, pampered by the left. The party is over." #FromWordsToDeeds

True, but the UK and its partners have taken this to a new level. They don't even want their "own" government. They are tying their future to a supra government and killing their own sovereignty. They're at the crossroads of having a State (with limited independence) to a Superstate (with none) so that those in their own State can offload any criticism of their own actions to this offshore entity with zero accountability. The bureaucracy is betting on having its cake and eating it, too. Only now it has extra icing.

I see this as a weakness of religion. As an atheist, I think Soros will just die like any other human and suffer no special punishment for what he has done, either in purgatory or hell.

The only way to stop him and to deter other people like him is to torture him excruciatingly while he is still alive in order to make an example of him. Revoke whatever laws or international agreements we have to torture him to death.

Friend of mine, fellow real estate investor, purchased some unimproved land down there as an investment. After the purchase, it turned out he had to have a local lawyer file some expensive paperwork every year, which eats up any potential profits and depletes his bank account every year. I'd say no.

Now, I don't know the details of why he was then sent back to Brazil (who then sent him back to Italy) or why Brazil is taking credit for his capture. Did they provide intel? Were Brazilian agents present when he was arrested? Or is Brazil taking credit on the theory that he only fled his place of refuge because he knew the new president would extradite him to finish his jail sentence?"

Ace,

He likely had Brazilian Citizenship papers when he was found in Bolivia. Bolivia may have known about his Italian warrant, but since Battisti had Brazilian papers, it was easier to throw him back across the border. Once in Brazil, Brazil could strip him of a phony Brazilian citizenship and ship his Communist Terrorist Ass back to Italy and Justice.
