If I may, I would like to speak a word in defense of my female assistant (with whom I have never been alone) who was unfairly attacked in the Nazi publication "American Greatness."
When I first saw her I instantly realized that anyone who fooled around with her would necessarily be a person of high character and conservative political principles because of her reasonably-sized breasts. They are certainly not disproportionate to the rest of her body and, if anything, might be described as on the smallish size. In contrast, ten years before he ran for president Donald Trump fooled around with a woman with huge, enormous, superjiggly knockers, which as you know and as Ana Navarra just noted, makes him a person of low character and not at all of conservative political principles. Donald Trump's encounter with the large breasts, as Alexander Hamilton noted in Federalist 36DD, means that his presidency is legally constrained under the Constitution and he does not enjoy the full presidential powers that a person of high character, such as President Barack Obama, enjoyed, and for example, would have no legal capacity to construct physical barriers on the southern border. It's been quiet for a while, but the South Asian/native islander thing in Fiji is not so good. When was it - the 1990s? - when there was a coup or near-coup when an ethnic Indian politician won the national elections. Was lucky once to be on a bus with a group of Fijian peace-keeper troops (the country has rented out much of its army to the UN for some time for these missions). It was an "exciting" area, and there was heavy escort, but having 20+ hulking, heavily-armed Fijian dudes on board still gave a warm feeling. All the guys looked like they'd be pretty fierce rugby opponents, too - all built and athletic. As well as funny and nice as anyone could be. As far as illegals go, the people I've known who have been the most rigidly opposed to them have been legal immigrants. I worked with a girl whose parents immigrated from Mexico legally back in the 80s, and the things she said about the illegals would probably have gotten me sent to diversity awareness reeducation (at best).

Donald Trump's encounter with the large breasts, as
Alexander Hamilton noted in Federalist 36DD, means that his presidency is legally constrained under the Constitution and he does not enjoy the full presidential powers that a person of high character, such as President Barack Obama, enjoyed, and for example, would have no legal capacity to construct physical barriers on the southern border. Curmudgeon - Lindsey is up in 2020. He often gets less destructive, coincidentally, during re-election cycles. He also sincerely hates the trashing of the judicial nomination process - he's been on a (worthy and justified) tear about that for years and years - Kavanaugh was just the last straw. And he seems almost obsessed with DACA - and not very thoughtful about it, or its relationship to restoring rule of law (and now, even sanity) in immigration.
Add all those together, you might have an explanation for his current "aggressive" public stance. Or - he might actually believe what he's saying. But he's been so senseless about the likely effects of amnesty in the past, it's hard to believe his current wall-mania is anything other than tactical, and part of a larger strategery. DACA in exchange for full border barrier funding (including increased personnel and 20-yr life-cycle maintenance/operations costs) + mandatory e-Verify nationally + RAISE Act (merit-based immigration and MUCH lower total numbers) + reform of current asylum law insanity + binding appropriations conditionality against all "sanctuary" jurisdictions (they have to end these laws/policies or lose mucho dinero). Just one little problem, even with that (which tragically will never happen). Lawless judiciary. It is so bad now, there really isn't much value to legislation, even if all sides support it. DACA can/likely will be twisted to become a much larger, even open-ended, amnesty. Funny how when the judiciary becomes lawless and the other branches do nothing to rectify the situation, the constitutional order implodes. Who'da thunk it. Note: some implosions are slower than Trinity, at Alamagordo, in 1945, but just as real. 229 Curmudgeon - Lindsey is up in 2020.
Posted by: rhomboid at January 10, 2019 06:56 PM (QDnY+) I concur. I remember him telling the open borders ethnic lobbies, "We're going to tell the bigots to shut up...." and I had hated him ever since. Between Ana Navarro filing her nails while someone has the temerity to discuss the illegal aliens crime rate and Mitt Romney yukking it up with Harry Reid, it should be obvious from a few galaxies away why I loathe the oh so soi distant Establishment wing of the Republicans It's reciprocal. I feel the exact same, to the very finest degree, amount of respect for their intelligence, breeding, morality, basic hygenie, and ability to breathe in and out without using flash cards as they do for me. If I had done what Ana Navarro did, Mommy would have slapped me into orbit for the disrespect shown to those who were speaking, to say nothing of the disrespect to victims of crimes by illegal aliens. Also note that she had that in her hand. That was a planned stunt. As is all of Mitt Romney's positioning as the elder statesman of the Republican party in the most obvious attempt to say HEY DONORS GIVE ME MONEY TO PRIMARY TRUMP possible. You aren't fooling anyone, Mitt. And you will never fool me again. I am bitterly ashamed I voted for him. Contempt will be met with contempt as it should be. LeftCoastDawg - excellent points that few seem to understand, and are rarely raised. Same considerations apply to any "emergency power" wall construction. Much, much, easier to delay/undo than something authorized and appropriated via legislation.*
Pretty amazing the number of people who presumably care about the serious myriad disasters stemming from a insecure border who nonetheless don't care about a key element in fixing that, which is physical barriers. Makes zero sense. * With a lawless judiciary - I don't think people realize how out of control it is, and in areas where centuries of deference are being thrown out, like national security - even a legislated barrier project can be sabotaged, delayed, hog-tied. So that caveat haunts any success Trump manages in this "show-down". Posted by: rhomboid at January 10, 2019 07:17 PM (QDnY+) 345

ShainS, that book is on my (long) list. Have you come across the opinion (dissenting, pretty sure) wherein Scalia made his famous implicit prediction that the judiciary was courting repudiation by the executive? Don't know which one it was.
In any case, his prediction of course depended entirely on the other two branches putting the judiciary back in its (very much not "co-equal") place. Not seeing that happening. The One in a Trillion Black Swan is president, a miracle .... and yet it's still inconceivable that the ridiculous lawless usurpation of the courts will be repudiated. Posted by: alexthechick - Superelite Ragebunny. Hopping all around. at January 10, 2019 07:23 PM (GbPPJ) It's a question of how the information was collected. The idea is that someone collecting anecdotes will seek them out and frame them in the best possible light while someone trying to impartially collect data won't. For example, listing a bunch of attacks on citizens by immigrants versus collecting all attacks in an area and identifying the ones that were perpetrated by an immigrant versus a citizen. I donated, mainly on principle. If the money can't be used towards the wall it will be refunded or you can make a charitable contribution to the charity of your choice. Posted by: redridinghood at January 10, 2019 07:37 PM (hECVl) I didn't donate, because a) I already pay enough damn taxes, some of which should go to border security, which is the government's main *job*. 2) I'm afraid of being doxxed.
