As a little kid I always heard it as "Knights in White Satin"...
Like some kind of chivalric order that wore white satin capes or something... The rest of the song made no sense. Because... little kid. 408 382 I dont know if Nike sales went up or down. Its stock appears to be 2 bucks lower than when the ad first aired. But as someone said yesterday iirc, that ad ran for a couple of weeks and really hasn't been Sen since. Sure, they virtue signaled to their free friends, but if that ad was popular, you'd be seeing it more. That's really all you need to know about the ad Posted by: Steve_in_SoCal at January 15, 2019 09:23 AM (6PB3S) Nike would have to put on a sustained act of stupidity with regard to undercut their brand as a whole. They have many products targeted and many niche's in the market and are sensitive to fads and trends. The Kaep ad was a niche ad and I think that is how Nike played it and their product neither gained nor suffered as a result, long term. But the Gillette thing basically torpedoed 2/3 or more of the target buyer of the Gillette Mach products. I guarnadamntee you that Gillette makes a Mach variant targeted specifically at women. I thinks it the one with vulva like lubricant pads surrounding he razor head and squirts lotion and shit and it might vibrate for all I know. So this was basically targeting men (Who don't really care what razor they use as long as it works), brand them all as turds or turd enablers, in an effort to gin up sales with women. This one will be fun to follow especially if they keep it in the power rotation for razor ads. Screw you Gillette. Posted by: Cuthbert the Witless at January 15, 2019 09:36 AM (ymnmz) 26

Nike and Gillette are two different scenarios.
Nike sells $200 shoes to dindu nuffins. Getting Kapernick on board was probably a good move long term. Pissing off conservatives probably is made up by making dindus happy and a net positive overall. Gillette on the other hand is a consumer staple, ie their target market is every male 15 years and older. Pissing off 1/2 that market is just retarded. 37 This appears like a 2 dimensional painting trying to be 3 dimensional.
Posted by: Can't resist temptation at January 15, 2019 09:39 AM (0/zKO) This appears to be from a time from early modern art to about the turn of the 20th century, judging by the clothes. One of the philosophies of modernism was embracing the unique traits of the media. Painting was pigments on a flat canvas. Sculpture was three-dimensionality, positive/negative space, and mass. Full abstraction hadn't come in yet (if I have my dating correct), so the subject matter still remained grounded in reality and nature. Reality has dimension, but to the modernist painter, this is secondary (or tertiary) to the examination of flatness, light, and color. Your observation about a 2D painting trying to be 3D seems pretty close. Perhaps reverse them -- 3D trying to be 2D? Posted by: Kris at January 15, 2019 09:50 AM (OyyDO) 103

Still working on that one. Maybe to get them all in one place where they could be controlled. Here's something, we always assumed that Mueller fired Strzok from his team after the text messages were discovered. He didn't. McCabe did. That article is incredible. I've read it about 5 times so far and going back for more. But it's really important to understand how and when Mueller was hired. Also note at the end Ohr says he has been interviewed by the IG. Posted by: Zod at January 15, 2019 09:58 AM (Bdeb0) Did you ever hear about the guy who tried to cut his throat with a straight razor and shaved himself by accident? My Grandfather used a straight razor until he bought a Gem safety razor about the time he got married. He never went back, since he said that it was kind of chancy at times. I use a Gillette double edge razor that was given to my dad for Christmas, about 1968. I use Wilkinson blades in it since they make the best double edge blade. Far better than Gillette. As long as the blade is clean and fresh it makes a very clean shave, and just as fast as a disposable. Posted by: Kindltot at January 15, 2019 10:07 AM (mUa7G) 207

I really like this painting but not quite sure why. I think it's the colors and setting. The blues of the wall and door frame vs. the greens of the chair on the right vs. the reds in the carpet and floor give it a casual feel while the girl in white(presumably) waits for her date. Despite the anxious attitude of the woman, the scene is bright with sunlight. The loose brush strokes reflect the casual assembly of the furnishings.
For some reason the painting makes me imagine it hanging in a summer cottage or beach house. This is an unsatisfactory explanation but the best I can do right now. Posted by: JTB at January 15, 2019 10:09 AM (bmdz3) 217

OK I am witless, but what is the case for impeachment that all the supposedly bright people are making, the Todds and Thumbs and Ovoids and Acosters? Other than they hate him and his policies, what is their case? Gotta say I haven't heard one, but I pay so little attention to them, they might be making one that I missed. There isn't a legal case. In order to impeach a sitting president, he must have committed a crime. We have not heard a specific statute PDT broke. This is part and parcel of the Marxist/Progressive playbook when a Republican is president. It's all fabricated and designed to exact revenge for his defeating Her Heinous and to cover up her and TFG's efforts to destroy whomever won. Those two and the rest of the Progs that currently infest our government are the ones who need to be investigated and brought to justice, not PDT. Well I was talking about Sessions. As far as Barr saying Jeff Davis did the right thing, well no attorney with even the slightest amount of sense is going to pick a public fight by saying anything against Official Opinion. Just nod and agree, say what people want to hear, and move on. That way an old fight doesn't become your fight. That's the key to every confirmation hearing - questioners try to give the nominee tempting bait, the nominee's job is not to hit the bait that's dangling in front of him.
Nothing said in any confirmation hearing by either the questioners or the nominee, of either party, is honest or enlightening. It's all a scripted Kabuki play of actors asking what they think they're supposed to ask, and other actors replying with what they think they're supposed to reply. People who can grasp and conform with that underlying reality are deemed a "good fit" with the system. Anyone who tries to upset this system by attempting to interject some actual Truth, in either the questions or the answers, is shouted down by all of the rest and run out of town. Question for the Horde:
Can any of you concoct a scenario where Putin has dirt on Trump that is worse than what the MSM has slung on him already? I literally cannot come up with a motive that makes any sense as for why Trump would be working on behalf of Putin. It can't be a business dealing because there's no point in putting yourself at that risk when you can make boatloads of cash just through the usual government graft. It can't be something in his personal life, because they already threw out the Stormy Daniels and the pee dossier stuff and he didn't budge at all, so we know he doesn't care about his reputation. He didn't need to run for President, he was doing just fine personally, so it's not like he could owe Putin or something. He literally has to have been brainwashed Manchurian Candidate style for him to actually have a reason to be acting on behalf of Putin. He literally has to have been brainwashed Manchurian Candidate style for him to actually have a reason to be acting on behalf of Putin.
Posted by: joe, living dangerously at January 15, 2019 10:38 AM (KUaJL) Why rely on facts or logic when there's a nice conspiracy theory available? I really don't get the Trump/Putin thing. My theory is that *conservatives* have always distrusted Russia, certainly Putin!, even when people admired Putin's robust advocacy for his own country compared to Obama's apologies, conservatives have been anti-Putin. So the average liberal/prog looks around at criticisms to throw at Trump that might have traction with "conservatives" and there are two... sexual morality and Russia. Two things that the Left has been in *favor* of for decades upon decades. Since we were complaining about Obama and his inept response to Putin, his "I'll have more freedom after the election" ham-handed attempt at back-channeling... clearly trying to associate "Trump" and "Putin" in the minds of people would seem a worthwhile tactic. Oh, and slut-shaming Melania. Because it's not hypocrisy if you're trying to hold someone *else* to the standards you made up for them, and have none of your own. After 120K in bone grafts and implants (without one nickle being covered by insurance), my wife's periodontist says that some of the bone is failing, so the implants won't hold.
The only procedure that might work is called zygomatic implants, going all the way into the cheek bone. According to the periodontist, there are only two individuals he would trust doing the job. Nope. A guess? Trump's weakness appears to be women, something he's been happy to discuss w/gossip writers for years (see: AJ Benza's article on Trump as his longtime source). So, it's hard to imagine there are many (any?) secrets not yet exposed. In the 80's and 90's, you could buy reasonably priced dental insurance. Now, it is outrageous. My father-in-law was slowing becoming demented and some shyster (knowing that that pertains to lawyers-just using it generically) convinced him to purchase a $40,000 mouth renovation. He got some of it done, but died before he got the whole thing. No refund. Dentists used to be the profession with the most suicides. I used to think it was because of the monotony of the work. Not just our domestic enemies. There are numerous international frenemies who contributed to this scam. Insty ran this link to a declassified report several years ago that never received the attention it deserved, naturally. It outlines how our enemies got together to help the 2008 Housing Crisis Implosion to occur and make it worse. Never forget that it was BJ Cliton and TFG who made this happen. I haven't linked to it in a while. It's a rather boring read that contains a lot of obscure economic info and it's realllllly looooong. But if you want to gain a bit of insight into just how much we're hated by the rest of the world, you'll learn far more than you want to know. I also suggest a large dose of brown whilst reading. Maybe more than one... https://tinyurl.com/y92my8pu Posted by: BackwardsBoy at January 15, 2019 11:06 AM (HaL55) 409
I feel that dentistry is just another one of those guaranteed income scams...
Meh. People who feel dentistry is a scam are usually those who don't take care of their teeth. This isn't magic, people. Unless, you just have bad protoplasm...and some people do. But, it's rare. then: 1) Brush your teeth more than once a day. 2) Floss daily. 3) Don't smoke. (not all people with gum dz smoke but almost all smokers have gum dz) 4) Eat well. Don't suck on sugar all day long(sugar in coffee is sugar). 5) Control your diabetes. Get check ups early and often if it runs in your family. Diabetes related bone loss is one reason some of my patients find out for the first time that they have active diabetes. 6) Don't brux like a mofo, but if you do get a night guard. That's pretty much it for 99% of people. Do that and short of trauma, you'll more than likely have your teeth for life. Oddly, Gillete's NFL franchise is one of the whitest football teams and seems to always be in the playoffs.

233 OK I am witless, but what is the case for impeachment that all the supposedly bright people are making, the Todds and Thumbs and Ovoids and Acosters?
the fact that you do not know the case proves that you are not worthy to have it explained to you. Posted by: Anachronda at January 15, 2019 11:24 AM (v3pYe) 417
331 On the dental front...
One is in Barcelona and the other splits his time between Athens (his home) and Dubai. So now, we're planning a trip for March to spend about 2 weeks. Anyone familiar with Athens? Posted by: jwest ............. Geezus.. get a bridge.. Everyone I know who has had bone grafts and implants has had problems. One friend has had the whole thing replaced 3 times. My daughter's bone graft failed. I lost a front tooth a couple years ago.. got a 3 unit bridge/crowns and couldn't be happier.. $3,000 total. My smile never looked better. Posted by: Chi-Town Jerry at January 15, 2019 10:43 AM (so+oy) I lost two adjacent molars on left lower. Got the bone graft. Did not get the implant done until 16 months had passed after the implant. Had the final abutments and crowns installed last fall. I am happy with the outcome. I'm totally unfamiliar with Athens. We would like to know what area of town to stay in that is safe, walking distance to restaurants and shops, etc.
Posted by: jwest at January 15, 2019 11:01 AM (/roJx) Hotel Adonis Our hotel is located in PLAKA area and is only 5 minutes walking distance from Syntagma square where is the closest metro station and is named, Syntagma (direct line from/to the airport). Syntagma square is also the terminal of the -24h running- bus X-95 from/to the airport and there are a lot of bus stops for different destinations. Wife said she really liked and shops and restaurants are within walking distance. You can see the Acropolis at night from the roof bar/restaurant. The woman she traveled with stayed a week longer than my wife and really liked it. http://www.athenstransport.com/english/ Athens public transportation system map Posted by: Evasiveboat42 at January 15, 2019 11:29 AM (Rz2Nc) 420
