Trump Walks Out of Meeting With Democrats, Then Tweets "Bye-Bye"

The Democrats are sticking by their voters, and their voters are illegals.

President Donald Trump stalked out of his negotiating meeting with congressional leaders Wednesday -- "I said bye-bye," he tweeted soon after -- as efforts to end the 19-day partial government shutdown fell into deeper disarray over his demand for billions of dollars to build a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border. Hundreds of thousands of federal workers now face lost paychecks on Friday.

Obviously this is going to go on for a while. No one will consider compromising until there's a lot of political pain and a lot of shouting. Federal workers haven't even missed a paycheck yet -- so no pain yet.

By the way: Below is a screencap of CBS's fact-check.

Even though Trump got this fact wrong, so it should still be a newsworthy fact-check, CBS deleted it, because they're not interested in correct facts, but advancing the Democrats agenda.

And noting that a lot of women are raped on their way to the US border -- even more than Trump estimated -- does not advance the Democrats' agenda.

179 Look, the issue is simple:

(1) You can not manage what you cannot control. The US border is not under control, and thus the US cannot manage who enters and why, or how many.

(2) Issues such as how many foreign citizens should the US allow to enter the country each year? What should their status be? (temp worker, US citizen, etc.) What rights should each category of entrant have in the US?.... are all relevant issues, and I'm personally open-minded about the answers to these questions.

But you can't get to the "management issues" until you control the border.

Personally, I may be ok with temporary work permits even for millions of foreigners each year. I may also be ok with granting citizenship to certain of those people, perhaps even in large numbers, provided that "likely to vote Democrat" isn't an acceptable citizenship criteria.

It's crystal clear that the DNC, by and through activist groups within its orbit, are engaged in direct action community organizing south of the border with the aim to import people that will vote Democrat. Evidence? Large organized group of foreign citizens from South of the Border who loudly and proudly espousing Progressive policies try to enter the US in months long effort that arrives at US border within days of 2018 mid-term election. Circumstantial evidence, sure, but it's conclusive.

Dems are not going to agree to "control" the border, because they don't want to "manage" the border, because ANY management means they will get less new voters than they are getting now under the de facto "open border" scenario now in effect.

They will NEVER agree to control because their long-term political strategy relies on continuing the current "no controls" policy. Ain't rocket science.

What's the over/under on number of hours before a Court enjoins his order? Surely will be implemented in 72 hours. Could be 48. Maybe 24. Unlikely less. It's simply a matter of how long it takes for attorneys to file the documents and the earliest opportunity a judge has to grant the order, which is 100% guaranteed.

TBH, most people/families don't have any substantial savings. No emergency fund. We keep a substantial amount liquid as an emergency fund. My investment advisor would always ask why don't you do something with that. In a previous employer, layoffs occurred regularly - that was my safety net. Amazes me how few people do this.

If illegals were the Dems' main voters, they'd not hold a single seat.

The illegals probably do not provide the margin of victory in any federal seat (though I'd love to see some analysis/estimates of where they might make a difference - haven't seen one yet). Not yet.

The Dems' voters are brain-dead misinformed NPR listening suburbanites and urban fake sophisticates, self-dealing public employee union members, robotic/racist/self-fealing "minority" voters. Obviously.

Many of these people share Trump's view of border security and mass illegal migration, actually. Enough to make this a perilous issue for Dems. Well, that's over-optimistic - in a country where any significant % of these people (not to mention "independents" and many "conservatives") were any sort of citizens, and voted, and voted based on actual important questions, then yeah the Dems' stances would be perilous.

Not so sure any more. The Dems just stomped the do-little/do-nothing congressional GOP in the House, and actually pulled out a fantastic result in the Senate (compared to what it should have been). This issue was already very prominent. Thanks, America!

Yeah, I don't get it. I'm back in school now, and my emergency fund is student loan money, but when I worked I always had at least $5-$10k in my savings account, and my mortgage was $1300, so that would last me a little while.

Oh, and I also had (still have) money invested in the market, and if I was truly fucked, I could borrow against my 401(k).

Most people DON'T work for the Feds. Most people don't receive direct daily benefits from the Feds Most people hate civil servants. Most people think the government is bloated. Love this one. Of course it's true, but it lets me bring up all the Real He - Men who were too proud to go to college, and "chose" Trade! School!

Which is a line of horseshit, and you have to be in the mafia to buy that crap. But anyway, all these trade professionals are making two, three time what you ever will, mere clerk who might as well be flipping burgers or making coffee with your silly little six years of two degrees. EXCEPT

They get laid off for several months in a normal year, and in living memory have been laid off for a couple of working seasons at a time. They get "SUB" pay for actually quite a long time, and it's about 90 per cent of normal pay without overtime -- and the first damn week of a layoff, they have to sell their boat and pickup truck. Often just "let it go back" on the loan, on spec, because they're planning to run out of money that soon.

They all went to public schools that had classes in how not to lose your bass boat, but those were boring classes. They are doing this out of solidarity: not to give up your boat and truck wouldn't be Real Union.

But Dude. Trade School.

388 Y5, I think the lawless judiciary is stupid, and arrogant, but they have enough guile to over-play their lawless usurping hand.

Under Trump they have greatly expanded the scope of their usurpation and lawlessness - they now routinely usurp executive power and appoint themselves as inter-agency policy review committees, or congressional committees doing mark-ups, all contrary to clear constitutional and statutory authorities. They have thrown out any serious definition of "standing" - to the point that foreigners, outside the country, now have standing to contest presidential decisions.

I think trying to get into what is really the last undamaged area of presidential power - commander in chief - would make them think that Scalia's warning might *finally* apply - that is, usurp too much and you'll find out just how limited your power is, when the executive repudiates. Though I'm skeptical even Trump would repudiate - I doubt he hears a single voice that isn't rendered useless or pernicious by the brain-dead robotic subservience of the legal cult to the disastrous, post-constitutional status quo.

401 This "government shutdown," which only affects a small portion of the Fed. Gov., won't have effect on the Dems for another few weeks. That is, when Fed. workers start REALLY getting behind on monthly bills. Mortgage defaults, Car Loan defaults, no groceries, etc. Cash is king, and everything goes to hell when the cash flow stops. Fed workers are mostly Dems, so the pressure only goes up on the Dems from here.

For us private sector saps, the shutdown is at most an inconvenience as I'm unable to get some bureaucracy somewhere to provide me something some other bureaucracy needs me to have.

405 Trumps fighting the good fight but once again the GOP puts him in a terrible position.

The GOP could have put wall funding in the last FOUR CR's that have been vomitted forth from the GOP house in the two years they controlled both the House and Senate but no, because they want a wall even less than the Democrats do, being a wholey owned subsidiary of the COC.

At the end of the day either Trump or the GOP are going to capitulate because the Democrats will not and cannot give in, lest their base go ballistic.
And unlike the GOP, the Donks listen to and reward their voters.

The shutdown will probably go into February but not longer than that as critical agencies will start running out of funding.

And the sad thing is that all of the GOP toughness on this issue is an okeedoke as all they want is the issue to run on and not to actually solve the problem.
