What does it mean to "admit she lost" but "not concede"?
I get that the whole point has been to create a narrative on the left that, like 2000 and 2016, the election was "stolen". But I don't see exactly what this does, without further elaboration. Posted by: Don Q. at November 16, 2018 06:40 PM (NgKpN) I don't know. The more i'm seeing of this, that Judge gave Trump a gift. He said in effect, you can't just kick the guy out of a semi-public proceeding simply because you feel like it. But it also indirectly draws attention to the fact that there simply is no set of official protocols for handling such a thing in a press conference, because no one in history has been such a clodfisted jackass as Acosta is to warrant the need for airtight rules, protocols, and procedures. So Trump says, in effect, "Allright, fine, we'll draw up some rules, and then let him back in". All the while reserving the right, explicitly recognized by that judge, to kick him the hell back out again, and legally so this time. Doesn't sound like a loss to me, unless your only acceptable victory condition was Trump literally giving Acosta a noogie on live television. Posted by: AlaBAMA at November 16, 2018 06:51 PM (pUDQf) Oh... wait.... I get it... Acosta was Taxing President Trump's patience. And as the Congress has unlimited Taxing ability now... (even health insurance is a Tax). And all Taxes are created by Law. ergo, it was a de facto Law, that Taxed the patience of the President, thus giving the Court authority! Yeah... that's it!!!! 210 So what if she doesn't concede? Does it have any bearing on anything?
Serious question. Posted by: chique d'afrique at November 16, 2018 06:54 PM (9hauA) Nope. The GA sec of state has the say. Her concession was always just theatre and manners. Posted by: AlaBAMA at November 16, 2018 06:55 PM (pUDQf) 216

176 So Trump says, in effect, "Allright, fine, we'll draw up some rules, and then let him back in". All the while reserving the right, explicitly recognized by that judge, to kick him the hell back out again, and legally so this time.

Important takeaway from all this crap in Arizona, Florida, and Georgia -- what you're looking at is a dry run, testing the waters to see how much crap they will be able to get away with in 2020. If we do not fix this, and I mean right the hell now, the 2020 presidential election is going to be larceny on a scale that we have never dreamed possible. Yeah, this. The judge was very careful to note that he was not ruling on First Amendment issues, but just on due process and the way it was handled. Posted by: Calm Mentor at November 16, 2018 06:49 PM (ffYR/) I wasn't aware the White House was charging Acosta with a criminal offense. Posted by: Flawless Male Logic at November 16, 2018 06:56 PM (TAmPV) 223
What law is there regarding press passes?
That's my problem with all of this. just looks to me like a judge weighing in on a silly spat where they have zero authority. Does anyone really believe that if Obama denied Alex Jones a press pass, a federal judge would be involved? Posted by: Blago at November 16, 2018 06:56 PM (UfkIY) 224
I haven't read the ruling, just what has been reported on it. The case is not fully settled that I know of. As I understand it he issued the emergency injunction because he felt it likely that CNN would win.
Posted by: Calm Mentor at November 16, 2018 06:54 PM (ffYR/) Levin just claimed that he can't get a transcript of the proceeding, so I don't know what they are reporting on? Posted by: Comrade Hrothgar at November 16, 2018 06:57 PM (n9EOP) 225
She's stalling while they figure out a way to steal the election or get a new one.
She didn't concede in the first place as she was told they had 'insurance' but that didn't work so now she's going to wait out the clock and if that fails she'll claim it was stolen. It's called projection folks. Posted by: jakee308 >>> Anyone doubt that one of the early things the Dem Congresscritters will do is open investigations and hold hearings about the losses by Abrams, Gillum, Nelson, Beto, and others? Any doubt that the Dem majority will find that racism, sexism, and White Nationalist Fascism somehow caused all those D losses? And then on cue the MFM will declare that the winners are illegitimate office-holders. Posted by: Gref at November 16, 2018 06:57 PM (AMIL/) 226
he felt it likely that CNN would win.
Posted by: Calm Mentor at November 16, 2018 06:54 PM (ffYR/) Exactly. But now, with Trump reneging and letting Acosta back in, but with actual rules and protocols this time, CNN no longer has a case if Lil' Jimmy acts the fool again and gets bounced out on his ass. Basically one-handedly stole a legal victory away from CNN while more or less resolving the underlying problem in favor of Trump (no way to remove disruptive reporters). The more I think of it, the more i'm thinking this Trump-appointed Judge just did his patron a solid. Posted by: Warai-otoko at November 16, 2018 06:57 PM (BRvh1) 227

Star Wars IX should feature a BB-8 droid with a Stacey Abrams head. It's about time the franchise had a sassy black woman droid. A kind of counterpart to L3-37 in Solo.

Posted by: Don Q. at November 16, 2018 06:58 PM (NgKpN) Right. I suppose in this case the Judge looked at the case and said, "uh oh, there's a tenuous argument to be made on due-process grounds that Trump violated Acosta's rights... CNN could actually win this shit. Better not let it go to trial just yet..." Posted by: Warai-otoko at November 16, 2018 07:01 PM (BRvh1) 233

She doesn't have to concede for the process to
go ahead. All she has to do is win or lose. She lost. She can be bitter delusional and morbidly obese almost anywhere she wants, but not in the governor's mansion. I guess she's been instructed to do this to keep racial tensions high. There are legions of dummies who can be made to believe she was robbed, or maybe not actually care if it's true but to repeat it as justification as they commit the shitty criminal behavior they were going to do anyway. Be on the lookout for an increase in racial attacks on YT. Posted by: Semi-Literate Thug at November 16, 2018 07:06 PM (uxE61) 236
