Kamala Harris: ICE is a Hate Organization Like the KKK

Strange how the media's frenzied worrying about unhinged rhetoric and lunatic conspiracy theories melts away when such claims come from the mouth of a Democrat.

After asking the nominee to head ICE, Ronald Vitello, about the KKK and what its motivations were, Harris began demanding to know if he saw connections between the KKK, a terrorist organization, and ICE, a federal law-enforcement agency.

"Are you aware of the perception of many about how the power and the discretion at ICE is being used to enforce the laws and do you see any parallels ..." she asked.
Vitiello interjected before Harris could name ICE and the KKK: "I do not see any parallels."
"That puts ICE in the same category as the KKK. Is that what you're asking me?" he said.
"No, I'm very specific in what I'm asking you. Are you aware of a perception that they way that they ..." Harris said.
"I see none," Vitiello said.
"Are you aware that there is a perception that ICE is administering its power in a way that is causing fear and intimidation, particularly among immigrants and specifically among immigrants coming from Mexico and Central America?" she asked.
Vitiello said he did not. Harris asked how he could be the head of an agency and not be aware of how some view it.

"It seems to me that you would understand that when you use words like the words you used just three short years ago, that that would contribute to that perception," Harris said. "And it's harmful then, it's harmful, in terms of the mission of the agency and the work of the individuals there. And it is harmful in terms of leading -- innocent people arriving at our border fleeing harm, it is harmful to them."

Well, it wasn't that epic. It was at the 2008 Democratic Convention in Denver -- the "Emily's List Gala." I took a picture of Kamala Harris too and even posted it in my photo-essay about the event, but both versions of that essay are now on taboo sites and/or the images are no longer online, so i can't really link to them. Oh well!

Basically, it was just a giant "progressive" meet--and-greet fundraiser-type event with a bunch of horrible politicians in attendance (Boxer, Kamala, Pelosi, etc.) After their speeches they mingled. The rest is a blur.

What I remember her doing to Kavanaugh is trying to paint him as a day-drinker in high school. When he had his calendar out and was explaining what the various entries meant, she immediately latched on to one night when he talked about going to someone's house and having a couple of beers.

She asked him, "Did you drink on weekdays?" He said, "Well, yes, on such and such date-" and she interrupted him with "Just answer the question, yes or no, did you drink on weekdays?" He tried again to be specific but she cut him off again.

She was trying to get him to say yes, he drank during the week so she could paint him as a habitual drunk who couldn't remember what he did to all those poor girls who weren't actually anywhere near him.

I wanted to go through the screen to punch her.

D'Souza says Trump should make a "detoxified" or serious speech about the valuable contributions of LEGAL immigrants to show that he is in favor of LEGAL immigration (which he has said many times, but no one but us pays attention).

While I share your grief, life is full of choices. The two SCOTUS are Yuuuge. Let's be honest. A good number expected McConnell to surrender when the Balsey Ford was first brought up. I don't think the "nobody knows about the lower courts" is accurate. Sure, the media isn't focusing on it because it brings up Reid's move in 2013. But look at how many have passed thru floor vote. That is Yuuuge. And will continue to be Yuuuuge in the next two years.

And as a cup half full/empty, I believe there are very clear lines as to "who's on our side and the other GOPe side." Plus, this midterm was not good, but it does give Trump someone to run against a Do Nothing Congress.

The Dims invented the KKK so that they could intimidate and control blacks, who they thought were uppity troublemakers.

Now the Dims want to destroy ICE so they can import a new slave class of brown people, who will replace middle- and working-class whites (whom the Dims now view as uppity troublemakers), and also take jobs away from lower-income blacks.
