Jeff Flake: I Will Tank Conservative Judicial Nominations Until an Unconstitutional Bill Purporting to Limit the President's Power to Fire Executive Personnel Is Voted On

Bonus/Update to Last Story: First, it looks like Julie Kelly did elicit comment from NeverTrumper Jon Podhoretz. You know, the guy who pays himself almost $400,000 a year to "run" the amateur Republican Cosplay webzine Commentary.*

He's accusing anyone of reporting on Bill's new donors of "drooling McCarthyism."

My my -- sounds... defensive!

And... I say, why, what's this? Look who was spreading Pierre Omidyar's twitter propaganda back in January 2017!!!

Huh -- the marginally employable Rick Wilson suddenly became un intime cher of Pierre Omidyar's after the election.

Quelle surprise! Quel choc!

I bet you if we begin searching certain accounts for defenses or retweets of big-money leftist donor Pierre Omidyar, we'll find lots and lots of interesting connections!!!

BTW, Omidyar also funds Glenn Greenwald's The Intercept, which pretty much justifies every Hamas attack on Israel. Sometimes they even kinda-sorta say the Jews are bombing themselves (in as much as "they created Hamas").

So this is NeverTrump's sugar-daddy.

#MuhPrinciples.

* By the way: Look at his Twitter timeline. It's constant yammering on Twitter.

It's sometimes every two or three minutes! And that's just his posting! Obviously he's doing some reading of twitter in between making terrible jokes on Twitter.

I don't know if his charity is really getting full value for its money from his declared 40 hours per week for Commentary.

11 So this just got willowed, but someone should ask Kristol and the rest of the RUSSIA conspiracy theorists if they have a deep, principled objection to taking RUSSIAN money.

If a "public spirited" Putin crony offered them a chunk of change, would they take it?

And if not, on what basis? Obviously they're willing to take Soros dollars for the "greater good," so why not Putin's cash as well?

They just had their souls exposed and they've been sold to the highest bidder. Now they want to claim some kind of McCarthyism because they are getting money from the deep left? Fuck all of them. These fucks can claim how o.k, this is all they want. They know it's not and they are going to do anything and everything to keep their sugar checks coming in. It's one thing to have an opinion out of principles. It's quite another to have them shaped by whom is paying you.

36 This is why we needed McSally to fight. We have to increase the margin in the senate for judicial confirmation.

Seriously? You honestly think that the GOP wants to have a clear majority?

The Game is this: Keep it real close so that they can continue to send out emails every day claiming that the other side is doing X and "will get away with it" unless you send in every bit of your disposable income to "stop them".

If it wasn't close, then you wouldn't bother to surrender your savings.

McSally tanked so that the majority numbers would stay slim.

Some things are more important than running a functional government.

Hint: What did Bolton do during Bush Gore?

The shit hit the fan and is now all over the "Plan".

I'm with the Bush-Cheney team, and I'm here to stop the count. Those were the words John Bolton yelled as he burst into a Tallahassee library on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2000, where local election workers were recounting ballots cast in Florida's disputed presidential race between George W. Bush and Al Gore.

Bolton was INCENSED because he knew they had failed to secure the vote.

Sorry, don't buy it. She would have made serious bank as a senator and gotten tons of worship. She was just incompetent.

Most politicians and wannabe politicians are.

I know some folks here like to think there's a cunningly-plotted deep 3-d chess game afoot among Uniparty, but in fact most of them are as sharp as a bag of hammers. Trust me, I used to work professionally in politics.

Most of these clowns get memos telling them who wants them to vote which way. They never read the bills, which are drafted by lobbyists and pushed to them by their staff.

They literally have almost no idea what they are doing.

For one thing, McSally won the election on Election Day. Out of the 3007 counties in the United States only four had problems "counting" votes that extended so far into the next few days as to be very suspicious. Not only that, these late counted votes favored the candidate of the partisans that run those counties.

Same thing with McStain and Mittens, they were downright evil and cut-throat during the primaries and then meek and subservient to the D's in the general.

Ok, McStain benefited from the D's declaring the Florida primary unofficial permitting all of the Ds to go ahead and cross over and vote in the R primaries.

180 Here's another thing about Whitaker. I just get the feeling he's the kind of guy who would walk into a Wheaton, Md. biker bar and deck the biggest guy in the place, just for fun.

181 Are y'all sitting down? Michael Avenatti arrested for domestic violence.

If Julie Swetnick was smart she'll now say that CPL slapped her around to get her to sign the phony affidavit.

Thunderdome!

Avenatti and Flake go in.

Only one comes out.

They aren't going to pull him out of a committee in the end of a session. If he was returning in January, they could remove him then. Reassign him to something in the basement.

Welp.

I have to congratulate the leftists for creating a Fake Conservative Movement and Leadership-

they've pretty much led us around by the nose for 30 years.

That pretty much demands a medal or something-

The Congressional Medal of Cuckery.

Here's the deal.

Trump didn't declassify all the documents because the UK and Australia begged him not to.

For those not paying attention, nominally conservative governments in both of those countries are hanging on by their fingernails. The Aussie Liberals (their conservatives, don't ask) have a single vote majority in parliament.

While Theresa May is a total squish, she's also the last line of defense against outright communism embodied by Labour.

So Trump held it close, waiting on events. It cost him nothing and was an easy play.

Now things are different. His own survival is at stake but it's also clear that May's government is going to collapse no matter what he does. She's botched Brexit and the Ulstermen are going to leave the Tories if the deal is as bad as they say.

The Aussies also made their own bed.

My prediction is that either right before or immediately after Mueller tries to do his big move, Trump will dump the incriminating documents without warning and blow up the whole damn thing. Alternatively, he might go ahead and dump on the heels of May's government falling from power.

Either way, he was never held in check by Rosenstein. What kept him back was the international pressure and the fact that right when he was about to do it, the Dems gave us the gift of the Kavanaugh fiasco.

Trump didn't need the boost after that.

Posted by: rickl at November 14, 2018 06:17 PM (sdi6R)

197 Remember that Cindy Hyde-Smith isn't around as much because of her runoff campaign. So we're at 49 without Flake, even assuming Collins and Murkowski stay on board.

Just hold the vote and let them vote yes, I doubt it gets to 60.

Posted by: Mike at November 14, 2018 06:22 PM (SFreT)

198 I'm serious. Did she openly run as bi, or is it something that exists as an internet artifact that average people don't know?

Michigan's new AG is a lesbian, and I know this only because I check inside-baseball web sites. I didn't get a single piece of campaign literature (and I got a shit-ton of it, believe me) hyping this fact from EITHER SIDE.

So when people say: Gosh, how did a normally conservative state vote for X, maybe it was because the mass media kept it a secret.

Sort of like all Obama's scandals.
Posted by: K.N. McBride

______________

it was kept secret. There's rumors about McSally also, but who knows.

Sinema was elected because it's a state trending blue, Sinema and outside groups greatly outspent her, McSally ran a really shitty campaign that didn't really have an agenda, etc.

Also, Sinema is prettier than mcSally, and suburban republican women are what gave Sinema the win. there was a huge split with suburban women voting Republican for Governor and Democrat for Senate.

So "girl power" from the educated female class is "who's cuter?"

Posted by: Blago at November 14, 2018 06:22 PM (UfkIY)

199 Why would Mueller obey anything Whitaker tells him?

Because Whitaker is his boss.

=======

which is why the deep state was freaking out over whitaker. If he
was harmless they wouldn't have used the energy. The amount of energy
used is directly proportional to the threat posed.

202 Julie Kelly:

"It's one thing for a political pundit like Kristol to brand himself as a Trump-hating "conservative" to earn hits on cable news shows and get fawning coverage in elite media publications. It's quite another to partner up with the sworn enemies of the very principles one has claimed not only to champion, but of which he has insisted he is the last, best defender.
His new friend is a foe of these causes and has been for decades, which makes it appear as though Kristol is ready to sell out to any deep pocket just to damage the president while hiding the fact that his crusade is financed, at least in part, by a major anti-Trump, anti-conservative left-wing billionaire. (There is no information posted on Republicans for the Rule of Law's website, or Kristol's umbrella group, that discloses their funding sources.) The irony is rich indeed that "Republicans for the Rule of Law" is financed by a Democrat.
At what point do others stand up and not just deny Kristol his "conservative" cred, but acknowledge that he is now on the other side? When you join the battlefield alongside partisan hacks like Adam Schiff and take payoffs from leftist billionaires to do their political dirty work, there is nothing Republican or conservative. or frankly, decent, about you."

Julie Kelly is doing the kind of quality conservative journalism that J-Pud never got around to, and now can only dream about.

And he's sold his dreams, too.
