2 Good Morning Morons; today is Saturday, October 20, 2018. On this day in 1973 President Nixon fired Attorney General Elliot Richardson and Deputy Attorney General William. This is one of the thing Democrats raved about and one of the things they were ready to impeach Nixon over. In point of fact, Clinton and Obama did far far worse when they were Presidents.

We have not been able to find a cause for the majority of these cases, Nancy Messonnier, director of the CDC's National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, said Wednesday at a news conference. 69 What is really aggravating about AK is that it was made a State along with HI as a 'compromise' with the Democrats who wanted HI to be made a State. I liked Roger Simon's piece except for one thing; he says we are a nation of immigrants.

We are NOT a nation of immigrants. We are a nation of CITIZENS, natural born or legally naturalized, who get to determine who becomes one and who does not.

It may be semantics but I think it's crucial, because he who controls the language controls the narrative and therefore drives the issue on his terms.

And... good morning.

120 Good Lord, is there no level of racist hate that liberals will not stoop to? Amy Schoomer calls out white NFL football players as racist because they do not kneel with the asshole blacks who desecrate the national anthem.

---

The thing that irritates me the most is to watch any TV show involving blacks or hispanics and see that Hollywood clearly believes they are exactly the ridiculous caricatures they criticize Trump voters as believing in.

Enlightened SNL is the absolute worst I've seen on TV, but modern movies aimed at blacks are blatantly obvious. The kids and I were watching cartoons this morning and briefly saw a clip of some George Lopez "WE'RE HISPANIC!!!" sitcom and the jokes were all racist as heck but totes fine because Hispanics were promoting them.

It's a really great way to get me to no longer pay attention to any of your "concerns."

144 It is hard to believe we let shithole countries export the diseases to our citizens.
_____________

Why is that hard to believe? We also let illegal aliens live here and suck up services and benefits to the tune of hundreds of billions of dollars a year. And that doesn't even include all the welfare we pay out to their "American" kids, once they've dropped their "anchor babies" here (in our hospitals, at our expense).

Did you see the photos of the mob headed this way? It's estimated at around 4,000. To give some perspective, Border Patrol apprehended over 16,000 illegal aliens near the southern border last month. So in just one month, BP caught more than 4 times the size of the Honduran mob headed here. And BP only catches a fraction of those trying to cross the southern border, so think about how many illegal aliens actually got in, just in one month.

But we don't need no stinkin', raaaaaaacist border wall! We can easily afford to be the dumping ground for all the world's poor, criminal, diseased populations! It's not like we're in debt up to our eyeballs or anything, right?

Since it's on topic, from NC's lottery website:

"Before you run down to the claim center to claim your prize, you need to sign the back of your original ticket. A lottery ticket is a bearer instrument until signed. The ticket, not the play slip, is required for all claims, so don't forget it. Also, for prizes of $600 or more, you will need:

- An NCEL Winner Claim Form - $600 or more
- Photo ID verifying name, signature and age
- Social Security card"

181 I must be looking at it wrong because I see the odds of winning some amount as fixed. The odds of winning $1B+ would have to decrease with everyone buying more and more tickets, right? Because if two people bought the same numbers those two people would split the $1B+?

Posted by: Moron Robbie - Google Is Always Listening - Link in nic

Quick search... I can't see any history that it's ever happened. But some people pick their own numbers. Say, for instance, a bunch of people used some sort of historical basis of most popular numbers chosen, and they all happened to hit, yes, they'd share the jackpot.

But the odds of winning are still fixed at something like 1 in 320 million. Only way those odds change are by adding or subtracting balls.

I lost power for a couple days. But most of the damage was returning the lines back to the top of the poles.

190 Romney said 47% pay no taxes ... but as I understand it, that is 47% of those that file ... which is maybe 40% of the population. BUT that is federal taxes, and doesn't count the 13% (or whatever it is) that (supposedly) goes toward Medicare/SS.

(and yes, the employer pays half that usually, but it is still part of the pay package, which goes directly to government).

imo it is way too harsh to blame the working class for not paying enough ... there are tons of other incentives for the noble class, and especially the "investor" class that has monetary policy and trade policy bent to make them rich while impoverishing workers. And the whole cost structure of what workers pay (for goods, services, other taxes) has enriched those "rich" people that allegedly pay 90% of the taxes.

It takes a lot of effort (by government or whatever groups) to maintain a healthily middle/working class. CommunistCreep happens because the powerful/corrupt are always using power for selfish means. TooBig2Fail/Jail has become official policy. And it appears actual organized crime has their foot in the DC door as well, not to mention lawyer "mafias" that escalate the normal price structure (which is in effect a tax on the moral middle).

Health care itself is a massive tax more than actual insurance, funding various other programs, helping insurance companies, funding the trial lawyers, drug companies, illegals, etc. But the average worker gets no credit for that hidden tax.

It is the burgeoning welfare class, along with its "class warfare cousin" (jobs going to people based on race, gender, ethnicity -- people fired for supporting Trump) ... that is the real problem. Not the working class "schlub" that struggles to survive in a culture that supports those nefarious groups of grifters.

I laughed my ass off over all that "SUPERSTORM SANDY" bullshit. La de fucking da. You got hit by a cat 2 storm. Yeah, they make a mess and your power is out for a few weeks. BFD. It happens. A couple years before Sandy we got hit head on by Ike, another cat 2 storm. Made a hell of a mess and our power was out for about 2 and a half weeks (the crew that finally got the power restored in our neighborhood was from Indiana). Fortunately I had a generator, which helped. And hardly a mention of it in the MFM. Of course, this was southeast Texas during the Age of Obama, so no one gave a damn what happened to us.

But the fact is, if you are going to live within a hundred miles or so of the Gulf of Mexico or the Atlantic Ocean, you are going to get a hurricane in your lap from time to time. Deal with it.

---
The amount the pot goes up between drawings reflects how many tickets are bought (they generally have to project this)-and it's a pitifully small portion of each ticket that goes into the pot. Even if it's a third, they're saying they expect to sell around a billion tickets (or more), which even if they're all quick picks, you'd expect 2 or 3 copies of any number combination to be sold, so you're likely to see multiple winners.

Which is why, for example, it's a bad idea to try buying every number combination to guarantee a win (something I joke the state of Illinois might try). By the time the pot is big enough to do it, odds are someone else will win normally.

I don't know how many they had in Mesa. The event was held in a large hangar at the airport. The line to get in stretched for half a mile, according to local media. All the available parking at the airport was filled quickly and had to close. They had more people than they could handle. There were a couple of idiot protesters there, but they didn't cause any trouble (probably because they were vastly outnumbered, and also because it's AZ, where many people carry and will not hesitate to shoot a fool who threatens them).

However, I could accept not being allowed to vote for any offices involving the specific level or branch of federal, state or local government that you work for; for example, if you work for an agency under the authority of your state's governor you can't vote for governor, or for any state office, but you can vote for president, Congress, mayor, etc.
