Judge "Shocked" at State Department Providing "Clearly False" Statements to Avoid Disclosing Documents Related to Clinton Email Investigation

I'm shocked that he's shocked, to be honest.

In a combative exchange at a hearing Friday in Washington, D.C., a federal judge unabashedly accused career State Department officials of lying and signing "clearly false" affidavits to derail a series of lawsuits seeking information about former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's private email server and her handling of the 2012 terrorist attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya.

U.S. District Court Judge Royce Lamberth said he was "shocked" and "dumbfounded" when he learned that FBI had granted immunity to former Clinton chief of staff Cheryl Mills during its investigation into the use of Clinton's server, according to a court transcript of his remarks.

"I had myself found that Cheryl Mills had committed perjury and lied under oath in a published opinion I had issued in a Judicial Watch case where I found her unworthy of belief, and I was quite shocked to find out she had been given immunity in -- by the Justice Department in the Hillary Clinton email case," Lamberth said during Friday's hearing.

Lamberth rules against a motion to dismiss a lawsuit against the State Department, citing the fact that they have lied and lied and lied about searching for Clinton's emails, and other matters.

"It was clear to me that at the time that I ruled initially, that false statements were made to me by career State Department officials, and it became more clear through discovery that the information that I was provided was clearly false regarding the adequacy of the search and this -- what we now know turned out to be the Secretary's email system," Lamberth said Friday.

He continued: "I don’t know the details of what kind of IG inquiry there was into why these career officials at the State Department would have filed false affidavits with me. I don't know the details of why the Justice Department lawyers did not know false affidavits were being filed with me, but I was very relieved that I did not accept them and that I allowed limited discovery into what had happened."

During a tense exchange with Justice Department lawyer Robert Prince, Lamberth pressed the issue, accusing Prince of using "doublespeak" and "playing the same word games [Clinton] played."

That "was not true," the judge said, referring to the State Department's assurances in a sworn declaration that it had searched all relevant documents. "It was a lie."

Note this tweet about this story by Jason Chaffetz, calling out the Cuck's Champion Ben Sasse for aiding Clinton and the Deep State in the cover-up:

They're not NeverTrump -- they're NeverConservative. They're just on the other side.

They always have been.

How about some immediate jail time for contempt of court? The judge can easily do that. Judges do that for silly reasons all the time. It would be nice to see a judge exercise this power for the right reasons.

24 Perjuring themselves theoretically voids immunity deals.

Under the current DOJ, little has been done about it. Maybe that is because cases are being assembled behind the scenes? Regardless, the difference between Mueller's successful intimidation of former campaign officials versus the immunity for Clintonites is politically noteworthy.

Of course they keep thinking they can get away with it.

But... it won't take much to turn that around. And Donald Trump is not a terribly forgiving man.

73 UNBELIEVABLE that there is no enforcement of law against these officials. Seriously, WTF.

Why, it's almost like law enforcement officials don't want to prosecute officials that, once indicted and facing criminal prosecution, fines, jail time and loss of career, might flip and turn State's evidence against higher placed officials involved in this entire charade.

Funny, because I thought I heard that Federal law enforcement and prosecutorial officials are sometimes pretty aggressive when trying to prove-up a crime. You know, like armed officers breaking down doors at 3am, hauling attorneys that represent defendants into court and forcing them to testify against their clients, obtaining warrants to monitor all defendant communications, raiding business offices, going after defendant accounts and other advisors, using HUMINT-derived information obtained by sting operations on defendants, etc.

And, I'm pretty sure they use all of said above information to charge said defendants with crimes and then seek the maximum available civil and criminal penalties against them with the overt intent to cause said defendants to testify against other more valuable law enforcement targets.

Huh. It's almost like the FBI and DOJ aren't targeting any officials directly involved in breaking Federal law. But super happy to hear they're on top of getting the peons. Top Men, friends. Top. Men.

As much as I would like to 'beelieve' that DOJ is doing anything, from the cheap seats it looks as though they are all supporting immunity for criminals looking for the great white whale. Posted by: bonhomme at October 18, 2018 02:31 PM (9qZ3S)

Because it's against the State Department and the DOJ and prosecutors get away with any damn thing they want.

IIRC, not a single thing happened to the DOJ lawyers who point blank lied about the Ted Stevens prosecution.

A judge in Texas lost his mind at the DOJ about all the lies being told in the various immigration cases and ordered mandatory training. DOJ whinged and whinged and whinged its way out of that.

You think a single thing is going to happen to any of the DOJ or FBI or BLM (the land management asshats, not the other asshats) people who lied repeatedly to the judge's face about the Bundy ranch being watched by snipers?

There is absolutely a two tier system in place and has been for decades.

Hell, the FBI admitted in the early 2000s that its ever so vaunted experts provided false testimony, including in capital cases, and I'm not aware of a single person going to jail for that.

So, you know, Ben Sasse can lick the sole of my boots for getting the vapors that I think the DOJ, et al, are the scum of the earth. Prove otherwise.

It was....interesting. Jane was portrayed as dangerously mentally ill. It was a much darker film than the original. The man helping her resurrect her career was a real dirtbag, even alluding to him producing underage gay porn.

It wasn't bad - it was very different than the original. Disturbing, corny, ridiculous and scary at times.

Theoretically. But selective prosecution intercedes.

You can break a law all you want. The question remains is if anyone will a) notice and b) do anything about it. In this case, condition (a) has been met. And so far condition (b) has not. And this is where our system is falling down.

The only way my trauma could in any way be relieved would be if Judge Lamberth were to withdraw his ruling on the motion to dismiss, notice the motion for rebriefing and rehearing and order counsel for the plaintiff to submit a brief on why he should not be assessed a Rule 11 finding for meritless claims.

170 This one time, at my therapist's, I remembered that I
was raped by United States District Court Judge Royce Lamberth while
all the other district court judges from the United States Judicial
District for the District of Columbia stood by and laughed maniacally.

The attack derailed my life for many years and I insisted my husband
throw away his black bathrobe because of my judge-related PTSD. The
worst part of the experience was the nerdy courtroom laughter which
haunts me to this day.

The only way my trauma could in any way be relieved would be if
Judge Lamberth were to withdraw his ruling on the motion to dismiss,
notice the motion for rebriefing and rehearing and order counsel for the
plaintiff to submit a brief on why he should not be assessed a Rule 11
finding for meritless claims.

218 Someone approved that. There has to be records of it somewhere. I don't doubt Comey's name is all over it. But get those records and get them public.
++++++++++

Someone appointed Progressive activist lawyers to Mueller's team, and there's records somewhere of that.

Someone appointed McCabe, Strzok, Page, etc., to the original Clinton and Trump investigations, and there's records of that.

Someone told Peter Strzok to quickly resolve the Weiner/Huma email problem right before the election (he only reviewed 3,000 out of 350k emails found on Weiner's computer. Shocka: Strzok concluded "nothing to see here.")

Someone knew of Bruce Ohr's involvement in the Dossier fiasco, notwithstanding that Ohr's FBI beat was drug enforcement.

Someone knew about the Bill Clinton/Lynch Tarmac meeting, did nothing about IT, but did go after the protective detail officer that reported it. Records for that exist somewhere as well.

The DOJ and FBI are horrendously corrupt and dishonest. Flat out criminal conduct throughout upper management. With GOP House and Senate investigating intensively for 2 years, both agencies continue to resist all oversight and all investigations, continue to abuse redaction privileges, continue to protect all players involved and continue to apply any accountability to any of it. It's an absolute disgrace of the first order.

And, the FBI and DOJ gambit to run out the clock on the Congressional investigations is about to be wildly successful, because if the Dems win the House, that will put a permanent end to most inquiries, thereby rewarding all of the criminal officials and the people that oversee them.

I blame Paul "Master Cuck" Ryan. A House majority leader with any balls at all would have backed up his committees and would have been firing off subpoenas, holding officials in contempt and otherwise implementing a Congressional power renaissance. But Paul Ryan is a tiny, tiny worthless POS, and has instead focused his time on GAINZZZZ and canapés. What a worthless POS.

332 On November 4th, the US led sanctions against Iran go into full force. They call for a complete embargo on Iranian oil. Trump had asked the Saudis to increase their export of oil to cover the lack of Iranian oil. The Saudis agreed.

One of the only countries to go on record refusing to go along with the ban is Turkey.

This says nothing about the Turks, Russians and Iranians fighting against the GCC led by the Saudis and the US against Assad in Syria.

Yes, he is the one who will set you up as nothing
And he is one who will look at you sideways
His particular skill is leaving bombs in people's driveways.

Blank Frank has a memory that's as cold as an iceberg
The only time he speaks is in incomprehensible proverbs

Oh, I forgot. James Comey ate it.

410 31 More like "rightfully" or even "angrily" or "finally" ... But definitely not "unabashedly". That's just weird.

I like *finally* as in long-overdue. Used in sentence: Trump FINALLY got pissed-off and formed a task force of 500 US Marshals who FINALLY started swearing out arrest warrants for dozens of Obama Judges clearly guilty of corruption, and worked their way down through US Attorneys and DAs. Force was authorized if any resistance was encountered.

413 Fraud on the court busts the immunity deal. Where is this judges head at? Did he go to law school? Is the judge afraid to act?

415 And yet we all know that she will never, ever be charged, let alone serve time. Breaking the law while Clinton isn't illegal. Apparently.

:-)

419 This is a good case for the judge to throw out "qualified immunity" - since they were clearly subverting the law - and make everyone being sued *personally liable* for any awards from the lawsuits.
And there should be LARGE awards from the lawsuits (hell, it should be a class action on the part of every single citizen, at, say, $10 apiece).

420 I can't speak for everybody that labels themselves "Never Trump" but I labeled myself that way because I saw Trump as unfit to serve. And Never Trump doesn't mean "Never Conservative" or that I don't support the good things he's doing or that I want him to fail. It means I won't ever vote for him. I'm currently wavering on that. We'll see in 2020. I'm a Maybe Trump now.
