Only question, tactically, was whether to establish a put up/shut up deadline of COB today, in order to hold vote as originally scheduled, tomorrow. Seems Grassley and staff are setting a Monday deadline instead. Tactical call. I don't think it's required, but they're being over-prudent.

Flake has said testimony by Monday, or vote. Collins I think has implied the same thing - in any case her focus on Ford having an opportunity is fully accommodated by Grassley's tactics (and none of us for one second thinks that anyone, anywhere in the Senate, takes these allegations seriously in themselves).

Having dropped it at the last moment and being seen for what it was, Davis is correct. They had no plan B. Revealing it earlier would have not required a Plan B. Or more timing to formulate Plan B, if you will.

Flake has said testimony by Monday, or vote. 247 I would be surprised if this didn't put some votes for Republicans in the ballot box.

This was so over the top.

It's like they think this is high school or college.

I had a ballot box stuffed by a bunch of Yale college students.

It gave me an insight into the liberal progressive mind that I have never forgot.

It's also the day I became a conservative (back then known as Republicans)

I have never looked back and never lost by betting that Democrats will lie, cheat and assault people to get their way.

Oh some ppl who call themselves Republicans will do the same but the grass roots and most of the top have some level of moral scruples.

The Democrats have NONE. That they promote policies that enslave poor ppl and demand the right to murder children is all that has to be said.

Whatever needs to be done at the time that is to benefit the Party or the member that is morally repugnant normally will be ignored or excused. They will find some way to frame it in their mind so they feel no guilt. (if Democrats even feel guilt)

For years we've been screaming at the GOP to wise up and grow a set and maybe, just maybe with Trump they're seeing that:

A. it's true the Democrats do hate you even when they're laughing and smiling.

B. They will do anything to gain/hold power.

C. They are anti american at their core. They hate America and it's people and wish to destroy it. Then make it over in the image they think will work. (with no proof it will and plenty that it won't)

D. That they cannot be trusted and cannot be allowed to manipulate the Government.

-----------

Cocain Mitch said that the committee will treat this matter "by the book". Committee rules require a minimum one week notice of all future meetings.

So the question is: What's going to happen to tomorrow scheduled meeting. If they want to schedule a vote for latter next week, they have to schedule it this week.

Could be fireworks tomorrow if they go ahead with scheduled meeting.

252 I think Grassley is playing this excellently, offering to go all the way to arrange a meeting, to show that he is doing everything he can to work this out.

And I think it's clear to everyone, including Grassley, that she is going to make any excuse she can to avoid being questioned face to face. Credit Grassley with thinking about the long game here; the Dems are pushing this to try to discredit Kavanaugh long term, but Grassley is doing everything he can right here and right now to discredit their attempt. And he's doing a good job of it so far.

255 In want you all to note well: This Kauvanugh show is pure Trump.

He had this letter a long time ago, he briefed all the wobbly Republicans on it, gave them their lines about how she should be heard, blah, blah, blah.

Because he already had the hammer-- proof it was false.

So he leaked to the Dems there was a great fear of this letter. Knowing they'd hold it as their Kryponite, final blow--so foolishly confident they would be ...

And they fell for it.

Sean is late, I was saying yesterday the Dems never planned for this to go this far-- that much was clear once Kauvanugh flat denied it.
They were expecting a hazy fog of time allowing him to weakly offer a couldn't recall.

Look at all the Rs, none have wavered in support.
And a delay only helps make this a bigger campaign issue--early voting starts when? Oh, in a few weeks, lol.

Trump knew that-- and he saw a perfect chance to kill off the sexual improprieties smear forever.

And just as early voting ends, there's going to be a transportation bill or a Korea peace treaty.

Did I mention 3Q GDP coming out soon ...

True. But they were hoping on the hearings. The whole misquote about contraception be abortion (when Kavanaugh was reading from the plaintiff's brief), Booker's Spartacus moment, the secret emails Kavanaugh was supposedly to have stolen/possessed, and who can forget the Handmaidens.

When that didn't work, and DiFi's opponent in the fall, she had to release it because if word got out some of the dems knew she had this and it leaked (remember, the Cali rep gave it to her) she would have been toast. Releasing it, shit show and all, she has no worse than the same chance she had before releasing it of being elected.

She burnt the bridge with the Vichy Republicans in the Seante though. And some of the Non-Vichy.

A smart Republican (yeah, unicorns and all that) would gin up a good populist proposal to tax the Bejezus out of all foundations and college endowments with assets of over some amount.

Then throw in some fake government accounting rule that says all proceeds are to be used to shore up Social Security or Medicare.

Some of you are forgetting that for all the Republicans wanting to
stymie parts of Trump's agenda, on the issue of nominating and
confirming conservative judges at every level, including SCOTUS, they
are ALL on the same page. Even W. is defending him. So yeah, Trump and
Bush are on the same page here.

The two parties had a gentleman's agreement of sorts. Let the courts do the heavy lifting so the politicians don't have to make controversial votes, just keep the courts relatively balanced so it's all kinda fair.

The Dems fvcked with the balance of power and the Pubs are pissed.

They never will file a complaint, because they won't sign their name to any official document, it would put them at risk of being charged with filing a false report. They are trying to subvert the process, like all lawless lefty totalitarians do.

Drag out Kavanaugh into October and end in sinking him.

November Democrats get a blue wave taking over the Senate
