I watched it and thought it was easily the weakest Marvel movie yet.
It was meandering with a confusing plot, but hints of quality in the villain (he was interesting at least). And people hailed it as the greatest movie of the century.

I blogged a long review of Black Panther.
It's good, not great. Not bad, by a long shot (though I don't think much of Killmonger, frankly. I think he's a stupid villain, though the guy is buff and big), but it's just a fairy tale. I happen to like fairy tales but Wakanda doesn't feel any more real than Elrond's home.

Yeah James Madison, I think we've reached peak Marvel Cinematic Universe after the Thanos arc ends. At least for me. I got invested in this crop of characters and storylines. After half of them leave for other projects and we have to start with a new cast, I'll probably bail. Especially if the next arc of movies goes SJW as is the rumor.
Not all the MCU films were perfect. But I think we'll look back at this time, like I do with the LoTR movies, and marvel at the alchemy that took place to make all the pieces work the way they did in telling a sprawly, complex superhero tale so well. Kevin Feige is to credit for this success. It was an impressive feat.
Genres come and go in popularity. The problem for Hollywood is they are banking on the superhero genre movies to prop up all their problems and last forever. When that is not longer the case, the crash will be hard. Because they have proven in the SJW bent of films that they hate me and this country, it is hard to be too sorry for them.

I agree, the actors are bailing. But they really need to nail the 'how'.
The Russo Brothers, surprisingly, are good filmmakers. Winter Soldier is one of the best movies I've seen, period. (in the top 100, at least) So maybe it will be good.
But emotionally, despite Marvel Cinematic Universe kinda being my jam, I'm ready to stop. And that surprises me.

There's dead space in the movie, but not an hour's worth. The last fight is bad, the war rhinos made me roll my eyes so hard I almost blacked out. And the CGI fight between the two men was also terrible.
But the fighting ceremony happening makes sense. It's a set up and payoff pairing. It worked.
I think the main character of the movie isn't so much Black Panther, but Wakanda. It a Milleu movie, not a character or plot movie. And on those terms, it works. It creates an interesting fantasy world, like Avatar did. And it did it without indulging too much in anti-white bashing, which it easily could have.

I am apparently a sucker for the Marvel films that go full Shakespearian family dramas; Thor is still one of my fave films of the MCU because of that, and it gets panned by most people. Black Panther does this, and despite some of the plot stupidity and weird geopolitics of Wakandian society I liked it.
It helped that Black Panther had two of the BEST villains MCU has seen in a long, long time. Serkis was fantasticly charismatic, a nice shot of acting adrenaline. They should have found a way to keep him around, though his death is integral to pieces of the plot clicking into place. And Killinger made for an interesting foil to T'Challa.

And the other thing about the fighting ceremony is the necessity of taking away powers. It's a retcon of things from Civil War (which doesn't even make sense since his dad should have still been the Black Panther since that position and king is apparently the same thing).

One of the enraging things about The Lost Jedi Opportunity is that almost all of it's flaws could have been fixed in the writing.
Replace dumpy doughgirl with her hot asian sister and suddenly that plot works a bit more.
Have the story turn into a mole hunt on the capital ship and that solves another problem.

Maybe. In San Antonio, Rs just took a state senate seat that they have not held since Reconstruction. Candidate was Latino. While that may not have been a sufficient condition of that victory, it almost certainly was a necessary one. I don't think a white candidate could have pulled off that upset in that area.

The key to Yoda is the fact that the Jedi texts are safe since Rey took them.
So, what Yoda did with the lightning on the tree was burning an empty husk, a symbol that meant nothing anymore. The jedi itself will continue in Rey, and Luke failed to see that. Focusing on symbols and failures (his own along with past Jedi failures) rather than being constructive.

Problem is not details of deal, problem is fundamental basis of deal (with Paris, dubious assumption of CAGW; with Iran, assumption that nuke/missile behavior is the issue, when the issue is the existence of a capable relentless enemy regime, and cannot be tamed or contained consistent with our interests, period).

The main problem with the Iranian deal is so obvious that any layperson could tell you. You don't pay the entire amount up front on a deal that has prerequisites and benchmarks that have to be met.
