Senior Producers at NBC, the Network That Covered Up for Harvey Weinstein and Whose Most Visible News Personality Had a Rape-Button In His Office, Were "Crying" Over Norm MacDonald's Defense of His Friends from Online Scalp-Hunters

This country is in month 20 of a national nervous breakdown and it shows no signs at all of getting better, or of even wanting to get better.

Jimmy Fallon cancelled a Norm Macdonald appearance because the comedian said that #MeToo had had some unfair excesses and that he's tired of this regime of One Bad Tweet and Your Career Is Over.

Now, you not only get shit-canned for one bad tweet (like Macdonald's friend and former employer Rosanne Barr did) but for merely saying that you shouldn't be shit-canned for one bad tweet.

Actually, Macdonald hasn't been shit-canned yet, but I would guess that Netflix told him he must go out and do penance or else have his show (debuting September 14) cancelled.

"I'm happy the #MeToo movement has slowed down a little bit. It used to be, 'One hundred women can't be lying.' And then, it became, 'One woman can't lie.' And that became, 'I believe all women.' And then, you're like, 'What?' Like, that Chris Hardwick guy I really thought got the blunt end of the stick there."

He also mentioned organizing a call between Louis C.K. and Roseanne Barr. "Roseanne was so broken up [after her show's reboot was canceled] that I got Louis to call her, even though Roseanne was very hard on Louis before that. But she was just so broken and just crying constantly. There are very few people that have gone through what they have, losing everything in a day," Macdonald said. "Of course, people will go, 'What about the victims?' But you know what? The victims didn't have to go through that."

The social justice warriors began hunting scalps on social media, because they get off sexually on cruelty, and Macdonald offered an apology, pointing out that the main thrust of his comments was that we should think about forgiveness and proportionality in punishment, but of course they cannot be appeased.

In fact, Macdonald's main point was that this culture of maximum punishment for even minimal infractions means that no one should ever offer an apology ever again:

The model used to be: admit wrongdoing, show complete contrition and then we give you a second chance. Now it's admit wrongdoing and you're finished. And so the only way to survive is to deny, deny, deny. That's not healthy -- that there is no forgiveness. I do think that at some point it will end with a completely innocent person of prominence sticking a gun in his head and ending it. That's my guess. I know a couple of people this has happened to.

NBC is famously anti-sexual-harassment and famously forward-leaning on #MeToo,so just minutes before showtime, Jimmy Fallon told Macdonald he wouldn't be allowed on NBC to promote his show:

"Jimmy comes to me ... and he was like, 'How should we play this? I said 'I think we should say it at the end because if you say it at the beginning, you can't come back from that,'" Macdonald told Stern. "And he said, 'What am I supposed to ask?' And I said, "Jimmy, I don't exactly know.' So he leaves. Then someone suggested I start the show with an apology, and I go, 'It's not my show.' And Jimmy came back in and said 'Can I talk to you, buddy?' He was very broken up about it. And he said 'I don't know what to do. And I said 'Should I not do the show?' And he said. 'I don't know. It's just that I have so much pressure from so many people.' He goes, 'People are crying.' And I say, 'People are crying?!' And he said, 'Yeah. Senior producers are crying.' And I said 'Good lord! Bring them in and let me talk to them. I don't want to make people cry.' So Jimmy said, 'Come back whenever you want, but I think it will hurt the show tonight. And I said, 'Jimmy I don't want to hurt your show. That is the last thing I want to do.'"

NBC killed the Harvey Weinstein story, possibly because they knew they had their own Harvey Weinstein in Matt Lauer and wanted to cover up their own sex-harassment culture.

And now they're crying that Norm Macdonald said that Chris Hardwick got a raw deal.

If you did something wrong but deny accusations of wrong doing, you are doomed.
If you are innocent but accused of wrong doing anyway, you are doomed.
Is that the gist of it?

20 this is insane. Who the fuck cares. I was waiting for Norm last night. I liked McCongaghy but what the fuck?

Also, I've said this a bunch...Jimmy Fallon is a fine host but ever since he failed to kick trump in the nuts and force a walk of shame out of game of thrones on him, his leftwing dingbat friends have made his life hell.

So, now Fallon invests the first 20 minutes of his show in the most groantastic anti-trump jokes.

Thanks Tina Fey, nice friend you are.

And then he wonders why his ratings are down. "Oh it must be because we normalized trump by Fallon playing with his hair. We must overcorrect"

25 Norm is one of the bravest and funniest comics of the modern era.

He was canned from SNL for telling too many OJ jokes and Don Ohlmeyer, OJs friend at NBC, got to Lorne Michaels.

He gets the comedy purple heart for that, and he has much more balls than comics who think they are risky and edgy for cussing which is mainstream.

Too bad he apologized, I hope he takes it back.

The template for this was set back during the Mizzou protests of 2015, which seems like a quaint, civilized time by comparison. https://archive.fo/zAOcM

The protesting students demanded that the university president apologize (in longhand!), admit to a variety of high crimes and misdemeanors, and generally grovel to the Gibs Muh Dat/We Wuz Kangz crowd. Which, you know, is fine. People can demand whatever they want.

But then in the next paragraph, they also demand that - after giving them everything they wanted - the president resign.

I hope no one is ever stupid enough to apologize to these lunatics. They want your apology as a scalp. You get nothing in return.

He's not a political guy, he makes a point of that. I've seen a couple of tweets that got him in trouble but he was blaming some of this on giving a print interview and leaving the journalist with the power to select and edit.

But, jeebuz, Jimmy Fallon's producers are crying?

I realize that thinking is heresy and subject to the death penalty by Twitter Idiots, but it's a maxim as old as time.
We have plenty of situations on the corporate world where people have made accusations at the urging of their lawyers. Mostly because they know a settlement worth a certain amount will be forthcoming at some point. No corporation wants to be tagged with a scarlet letter and the dreaded ad hominem, pathos attack that follows from so called womens groups, the despots on Twitter and proposed bans by every retard with a keyboard.
So we pay- and this pays pretty well.
Should we listen and take people's accusations seriously? Is that even a question? But there should be some type of evidence of a crime and a presumption of innocence until the charges are proven.
I have several colleagues that had their lives ruined by bullshit and the accuser walked away with nice high six figure settlements.
F that, and f any "womans" group or Twitter douchebag that supports this modern day witch hunt

84 You know, years ago there was a dust up on Twitter I think it was where someone was trolling a boxer about something and the boxer actually found out where he lived and showed up.

I can't remember what happened. I'm pretty sure the guy didn't get his ass kicked but I think he went quiet in a hurry and deleted his Twitter account.

That's what is going to have to happen here. People are going to need to be confronted face to face over this stuff or it won't end.

Liberals insist on forgiving powerful people like rapist Bill Clinton and pedo Woody Allen. The only reason they didn't break out the machine for Harvey Weinstein is because MeToo would instantly and permanently collapse into a rancid joke.

It already has, of course, but defending Weinstein would mean only radfems could support it.

Actually, I DO think the scales have been removed from some of these Hollywood types like Norm MacDonald. They really DID live in a little cocoon, only to discover that their biggest enemies were from within, not without.

Only if actors or actresses reach a status like the late Charlton Heston did, or are clearly in the sunset of their careers, or both, are they free to speak their minds.

134 As pleased as I am with what Trump has done so far and what I believe he will do in the future I think he only deserves part of the credit. The rest, most, goes to us.

Traditional politicians and "thought leaders" on both sides of the aisle have failed us. They've enriched themselves at our expense but gave us nothing but empty promises and failed public institutions. From our public schools to our infrastructure to a broken and worn out military to incivility and a divide as wide as at any time in my lifetime, those who asked to lead us have failed miserably.

And we're sick of it. Trump is our response. We didn't elect him to be like every other politician, we elected expressly not to be like every other politician and they still don't get it.

But if they keep pushing things instead of listening they will get it because we will tell them with an even more forceful and blunt message. For their sake as well as ours, I hope they get the message soon.

161 I'm sorry but some of these verbal lynchings (yep I went there) are for people using words. Words not actions. I do not care how offensive they are, they are words. They do not kill, they do not maim. They are words.
The "n" word, ape, monkey, lynch, etc. on and on.
No one should have their life destroyed because of the use of one of these words. Intentionally used or not.
There is a big difference between sexual harassment or rape vs the use of an offensive word.
Paula Deen is the first one I can remember that got her life destroyed and it has gotten so much worse since then. A nascar drivers dad used the phrase years ago and a sponsor pulls their endorsement for his son.
Madness, pure madness.

There is no one person or group to blame. But that isn't the same as everyone being equally responsible. Some allegedly True Americans control powerful institutions and wield amazing amounts of power. Harvey Weinstein is simply the grossest and most obvious example of that power. Bill Clinton is equally gross but enjoys considerable protection, while Dennis Prager and Al Franken clearly do not have protection from these forces (for very different reasons).

This power was mainly acquired by Americans being ignorant of the problem. Thanks to their increasingly hysterical push of violence against the majority of Americans, which includes productive immigrants like Koreans, there is hope these people are losing control.

212 Ace, the country has not been having a nervous breakdown, the left has. And really it's the hard left, which IMO is about 20% of the adult population. The problem is, a significant chunk of the US media is in that 20%.

Twitter is less than 10% of the US population, but because the media use it as a megaphone/circle jerk/reinforcement engine, they increase the perceived importance of the medium by a factor of 10X. Also known as "Jake Tapper Syndrome."

Most "Norms" go about their business - the Dems dislike Trump, wish their "team" won, but don't rend their garments in OUTRAGE every day. The Reps are happy with some of the news and results they see, and will happily revote for Trump in 2020. Both groups don't really get worked up by stuff.

Living and breathing politics is only done by folks like us - and we probably put too much energy into it, to be honest - it's not that healthy to pay attention to all the time.

Republicans are trying to get President Trump to sign yet another bloated budget extension, but are trying to con him into dropping the Wall funding until after the election because it will, they'll say, cost them seats in the midterms.

Not only are the Republican Shits gonna try to get a budget extension passed, but an extension that will go well into 2019 instead of December.

In other words, Republican Shits, led by Ryan, who has no intention of ever funding a Wall, want to hand the Democrat-controlled-House (they hope) a nice fat budget deal taking away ALL THE LEVERAGE from the president.

PLUS: I believe McConnell, a Shit and a Cuck, who also has no intention of ever funding a Wall, is holding Kavanaugh's confirmation vote hostage until a budget extension is signed by President Trump.

I watch CNN or MSNBC every once in a while when something big happens not to get informed on the issue but to hear what the left is saying. And they aren't shy about telling me exactly what they think of me and their message is unmistakable. It is the exact same message spoken by politicians like Obama.

I would suggest again that anyone who didn't read Horowitz's last report to read it in full, pay particular attention to the graphics showing all the contacts between the corrupt parts of the DOJ/FBI and the media. It is incredible how the media became the PR arm of this group and willingly parroted everything that was leaked to them to build a narrative out of thin air. This has been going on for years.

There is no bright line between the news part of the msm and the entertainment division. They are the same thing. The vast majority of today's media is the left and they use their vast power to create narratives and enforce the rules on us. Us, not them but us. And what scares them about Trump is that he won't play their game and is going to make them live under the same rules they want to force us to live under.

The msm and their partners in other parts of the mass entertainment industry, the educational complex and other vital industries are indeed part of the state the left wants to rule this country. They don't just walk in lockstep by accident and they aren't having a psychotic break, they are true believers and soldiers of the left.

Essentially, FDR "printed money" by confiscating the gold, and then decreasing the payout the FedGov offered for gold certificates. He in essence cut the value of the dollar in one fell swoop by something like 40% by re-valuing the gold. He devalued real assets. This is the same thing that happens when "printing money".
Today, since 1971, we are on the "oil standard" that Nixon put us on when he decoupled gold from the dollar. But the asset devaluation by government action still gets the same result.

Printing up dollars didn't drive up(!) the price of gold since gold was fixed to the dollar. It emptied our stores of gold when foreign nations demanded gold for their dollars, totally destabilizing our monetary system.

It wasn't so much that the dollar was backed by gold but that it was limited by its tie to gold. After all, gold doesn't really have any great intrinsic value, itself, but it serves to restrict monetary adventurism.

If the polls are true then republicans are only 25 % of registered voters. The polls are mostly bullshit designed to drag real clear politics average down and give the news outlets something anti trump to discuss.

380 "I don't know, man. I'm feeling worn out. I'm getting a nervous breakdown by proxy.

It's not healthy being forced to live among maniacs. "

The wear is from seeing a wrong happening, and not being able to correct it. It's like seeing somebody else's snotty kids not getting punished. You might let it pass in the store, but if you live next door to them, eventually you have to lay down the law.

Okay, so that's what the Left has planned. Now let me tell what the Republican Cucks have planned:

They are not budget extensions, they are most of the elements of the new budget.

Are they not? Or are they appropriation bills for the budget?

384 Has there ever been a comedian whose career suffered MORE for repeatedly and mercilessly calling out an physically abusive spouse?

Norm LOST HIS JOB ON SNL because he went after OJ and pissed off OJs friend Don Ohlmeyer.

So now #metoo has chosen to banish the one comedian whom they should be praising the most.

385 I like Norm McDonald. I would boycott the Tonight Show but truth is, I haven't watched ANY of those shows in years.

386 Norm pays for my sins and I get a $100 million golden parachute - and I'm still not fired - I'm now a 'consultant to CBS' - which means I still have my old job.

387 I feel sorry for Norm. He seems like a great guy

Not very sorry for Rosanne and Louis CK. They spent years building the army of SJW's that turned on them.

Rosanne was at the forefront of pushing leftist empowering themes on her show in 1990's. Gay kissing on TV. Gay marriage push, etc. Like I said, she helped build that army.

The inmates now run the asylum. And degenerates gonna degenerate.

388 They were crying?
Unbelievable.
Apparently Fallon's staff is a bunch of millennial girls.

Poor Jimmy is probably on thin ice with the network because he doesn't do enough Trump bashing, so when his staff cries because Norm hurt their feelings, he has to show his support and chase the big bad Norm out of the building.

Carson is rolling over in his grave at what a shitshow late night TV has become.
