Yeah this one's a beaut.The Italian actress and director Asia Argento was among the first women in the movie business to publicly accuse the producer Harvey Weinstein of sexual assault. She became a leading figure in the #MeToo movement. Her boyfriend, the culinary television star Anthony Bourdain, eagerly joined the fight. But in the months that followed her revelations about Mr. Weinstein last October, Ms. Argento quietly arranged to pay $380,000 to her own accuser: Jimmy Bennett, a young actor and rock musician who said she had sexually assaulted him in a California hotel room years earlier, when he was only two months past his 17th birthday. She was 37. The age of consent in California is 18. That claim and the subsequent arrangement for payments are laid out in documents between lawyers for Ms. Argento and Mr. Bennett, a former child actor who once played her son in a movie. The documents, which were sent to The New York Times through encrypted email by an unidentified party, include a selfie dated May 9, 2013, of the two lying in bed. As part of the agreement, Mr. Bennett, who is now 22, gave the photograph and its copyright to Ms. Argento, now 42. Three people familiar with the case said the documents were authentic.The New York Times notes that Jimmy Bennet played Asia Argento's son in 2004, in a movie called “he Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things. The script, based on a book by the pseudonymous writer JT LeRoy, depicts the grim relationship between a drug-addicted prostitute played by Ms. Argento and her son, played by Mr. Bennett and two other young actors. Ms. Argento’s character dresses her son as a girl to lure men, and the boy is ultimately raped. In interviews and subsequent social media posts between the two over the years, they referred to each other as mother and son.Although the American media managed to almost completely embargo it -- despite her boyfriend Anthony Bourdain's suicide being a top news story for a week, and Argento herself having been a hot news story for a year -- Argento was photographed in Rome embracing and holding hands with a French reporter, shortly before Bourdain's suicide. Do I blame her? No. That was his choice. Someone who commits suicide over the possible/likely infidelity of someone he's only been dating for a year is someone who's probably going to find some reason to commit suicide. But I think it's very interesting to watch the media embargo otherwise-newsworthy stories that conflict with their precious narratives.

One of those things was flushing toilet paper in the toilet. They said that since normal Mexican homes where plumbed with 1-1/2" waste pipes, toilet paper clogs and that this waste should be put in a trash can located in the bathroom.
I have no experience with "normal" Mexican houses or anything outside of resort areas where everyone flushes as normal in the U.S. Has anyone else heard or experienced this in Mexico?
It's hard leading such a sheltered life.

This is the worst crime of the movie. All the relational progress/connection/restoration that made the first movie such a gem got crapped on.
And not just in a reality check can't always live on the mountaintop kind of way. More like it never even happened.
I got to be on a conference call once with two Pixar writers where they explained in fair detail the story process that they go through in every instance; at the core the storylines were to be antagonist driven.
If I were willing to watch 2 again I guess I could try to tease out if they were still doing that or not, but from my memory of watching it the plot points seemed more self inflicted than plot driven, and all the characters were unlikeable. All. Of. Them.

No; I don't think it is, but as I noted before given the number of Priests and the time they are likely alone with altar boys I think it is less of a problem in non RC churches simply because of the numbers involved as opposed to other churches,. Other churches do have a problem, but the problem seem to have been overlooked in schools when kids spend more time in schools than they do in churches. And it's always wrong whoever does it.

What I meant is that a lot of guys don't seem to realize just how thoroughly their understanding of human -specifically young male - sexuality has been skewed by the Sexual Revolution. Yeah, as a teenager I thought about sex all the time. I was still pretty shocked and embarrassed when a girl a couple years older than I came on to me (she was trying to sell magazines and I had expressed disinterest), and kind of embarrassed to be around girls who showed more skin than I was used to when I first arrived at college. Teenage hormones didn't mean that I had no sense of propriety or couldn't control myself.

Women are attracted you older men for resources and protection and peak at 25 and yes men did in the past considered being not a whoremonger a virtue as did aociety and biology. Men are actracted to young women who are fertile and innocent for kids and a loyal healthy wife who would bare healthy children to raise. Both sexes used to know all the values and parents instilled them in their kids before the sexual revolution.

I read Ebert's review -- the movie apparently depicts Bennett's character getting relentlessly abused all the way through, physically and psychologically, to the point where Ebert wrote that he hoped the child actor wasn't too traumatized by the filming experience.
Argento is a big flashing neon warning sign that reads "damaged woman." The tattoos, the chainsmoking, the sluttiness, the public histrionics -- don't know whether she experienced some trauma when she was young or whether she is just a stereotypical "crazy chick" with the stereotypical cluster B personality disorders.
Bourdain could have done a lot better than her; but his own issues, whatever they were, probably kept him from seeing that.
