Corporations Are Holy And May Not Be Questioned By Mere Deplorables, Cont'd

This reported post isn't about China; it's about Fusion's conspirators.

Don't bother waiting for the condemnation of harassment of reporters from CNN or from NeverTrump's Fusion Fanatics; they support this.

By the way: A lot of NeverTrumpers are fond of spreading the meme #WhoFundsTheFederalist, as a way to suggest that their funding is corrupt. And to try to find out who's funding it, so that they can then pressure those people to stop funding it.

NeverTrumpers never object to that bullying. Because it's against one of their enemies.

But speaking of #WhoFunds -- who funds Conservatism, Inc.? I know it's a lot of corporations and private individuals who own big corporations, or big pieces of them, and therefore derive their income from them.

And, coincidentally enough, Conservatism, Inc. is always shrieking at conservative citizens that they must never, ever abridge a corporation's free speech rights by merely offering criticism of that corporation.

Is this a coincidence? Is it all just purely coincidental that Conservatism, Inc. is the zealous, indefatiguable defender of the imaginary right of corporations to be free of criticism from people on the right, and just luck of the draw that the corporations which wish to free of criticism from people on the right are stuffing these guys' pockets full of cash?

Is that too conspiratorial to notice that people being subsidized by corporate cash just happen to be the most wild-eyed fanatics in the cause of corporate PR?

I Have to Add This. It has many, many cruise ship icons.

6 The NRA needs a for profit affiliate (or whatever arrangement works) ...
that could form their own insurance, their own bank, their own network. It could even go public, preferred shares offered to NRA members of long standing?

It
would be the liberty network, no cucks allowed. The same individual
right to bear arms, extended to the other liberties (right to have news
not controlled by an agitprop enemy of the people).

They already have a 5-10 million person base ...

44 Multinational corporations did their best to force Killary on the American people, and go out of their way to humiliate the American public. NFL, Hollywood, the FASG cartel, United Airlines offering to ferry illegals for re-unification, car companies backing Mexico in trade disputes.

They could have made tons of money and retained their place in society, but they decided to get woke. Maybe some Democrats are becoming Trump voters, but a large segment of the Republican base would now sign on for punishing stateless corporations (aka multinationals). And they'd do it on principle, rather than for the jobs that Americans could get from tariffs.

Desperately backing the NAFTA/ Frankfurt agenda could cost them more than they ever dreamed.

63 Place Conservatism Inc in the context of Vaclev Havel's The Power of the Powerless" essay:

*
The manager of a Conservatism Inc shop places in his window, among the onions and carrots, the slogan: "Workers of the world, unite!"....

If he were to refuse, there could be trouble. He could be reproached for not having the proper decoration in his window; someone might even accuse him of disloyalty. He does it because these things must be done if one is to get along in life. It is one of the thousands of details that guarantee him a relatively tranquil life....

The slogan is really a sign, and as such it contains a subliminal but very definite message...: "I, the True Conservative XY, live here and I know what I must do. I behave in the manner expected of me. I can be depended upon and am beyond reproach. I am obedient and therefore I have the right to be left in peace." This message, of course, has an addressee: it is directed above, to the Conservatism Inc's superior, and at the same time it is a shield that protects the greengrocer from potential SJW mobs.

83 51 I get most of my Insurance thru Knights of Columbus and bank thru a credit union.

I am looking at other Credit Unions I thought about trying Navy Credit Union since my wife's mother and my Grandfather were in the Navy.

Recommendations are welcome.

Navy Federal is quite good - I've been banking with them for 28 years or so. You can only be eligible if you're a member of the Armed Forces or a immediately related to an existing member. If your mother-in-law is a current member, she can sponsor you.

The rules used to be a lot more restrictive 20 years ago - you had to be in the Navy and be one of the following: an officer, overseas, or in a specific (called out in the charter) duty station to be able to join. Immediate relatives could join once you had an account.

This guy gets it and is carrying the water for the rest of the Conservatives. Support the man!

Lost in the new "social justice" world in which we now live, where the Progressives try to accomplish in fact what would be clearly prohibited under 1st Amendment if done by government actor, is this simple response to all of the conservative blacklisting going on...

If you don't like someone's speech, don't listen. You know, like me, who purposely avoids all things New York Times, CNN, CNNBC, Vox, Mother Jones, Slate, Atlantic, etc., etc. No one is forcing anyone to read Alex Jones. And, all of the social media platforms have tech tools that allow one to block people and, usually specific content, the person doesn't want to see or hear.

What's unbelievable here, is that the Progressive's find Alex Jones, Byron York, and Mark Hemmingway (just the latest) SO dangerous that EVERYONE should be banned from seeing or hearing their speech. It would be funny if not so dangerous to an open and free society.

Wha about the shareholders of Facebook, Twitter, Etc.? They evidently employ HUNDREDS of people who's job purpose is to review and police "free" speech. Any of these companies could simply adopt a new tech tool that enables users to block and shut-out speech that contains certain words, that are shared among certain people, or that originate from certain people. That would be far cheaper and would put power into user hands about what they want to read and see.

But that would be a reasonable and rational response of a company wishing to promote the free speech principles reflected in our Constitution. The Progressives, CLEARLY, have moved far beyond the domaine of their own personal freedom. They already don't listen to or read any of the Conservative voices. In 2018, they are now focused entirely on ensuring that YOU can't listen or read this material either. Profoundly undemocratic and antithetical to the free flow of ideas. Why, it's almost like the Progressives hate the Constitution, the principles its founded on, the people that founded it, the people that still believe in it, and anybody that says anything that doesn't fit into their extreme nihilistic worldview.

178 the NRA seems to be having issues with its insurers, and threats are being made to their bankers ... iirc that is what their "bankruptcy" problem in NY was.

That is why I think they need some sort of for profit affiliate. A private concern would probably be better, to avoid various billionaires playing with their stock. But they could maybe somehow offer members a chance to buy in .. a sort of initial non-public offering?

One million put in $1000 to10K each ... to maintain the whole bill of rights. The non-profit NRA could continue 2nd amendment advocacy. There are green energy stock funds ... this would be more private I think, and the concept would be about maintaining liberty ... same as NRA right to bear arms thing, just extended a little.

I'll invest $5K.

310 Ok, a few more details.

I ended up sitting for about and hour or two at a bar talking to Steyn, Goldberg, and Rob Long. It was actually pretty cool, I flat out asked Steyn how much it cost him to defend himself against the charges in British Columbia (over $1M).

Steyn was a pretty straight shooter, and funny as hell. He'd give a pretty smart answer on any topic.

Goldberg is wedded to ideas. He really, really loves the idea of an intellectual argument where he gets to argue the underpinnings of conservatism. He is much less interested in actual conservative victory. IMO this is why Trump makes him nuts. Trump is making conservatism win without making any arguments at all. Goldberg probably thinks that we are losing longterm because we aren't convincing anyone we are right.

Williamson seemed to be trying to find anyway possible to avoid talking to anyone on the cruise, came off an a self centered prick.

Toomey impressed me as a straight up guy. He was willing to upfront admit that he does things because he has to because he is a politician in PA. He was honest about it. His kids were the most polite children I've ever met.

Rob Long had some interesting insight on dealing with Hollywood, and what is was like to work with the leftists there. Was honest about how they often have to just tell the partisans to shut up if they want their paycheck.

There were a bunch of others I met, but that is probably enough for now.

I think leaking Carter Page's unredacted FISA application puts him in the circle.

The interesting part is where he sent a letter to every member of the very corrupt SSCI threatening them with a subpoena to testify. Sounds like he has a story to tell.

328 Goldberg is wedded to ideas.

Posted by: Dave in Fla at August 10, 2018 04:13 PM (PHotS

So Trump is just like someone who can puzzle through a math problem--or guess the correct answer more often than not-- but because he doesn't show "the work", a tangle of equations and symbols, the math teacher (Goldberg) can't or won't give him credit?

329 Goldberg probably thinks that we are losing longterm because we aren't convincing anyone we are right.

That's true, but he's missing that a lot of Trump's wins (especially in terms of employment going up) do that persuading for us. Reagan's 1984 "Are you better off than you were in 1980?" ad was brilliant for that reason.

331 Word. Without that document you couldn't get Texas, California, Montana, and Connecticut in the same nation.

Posted by: Brother Cavil at August 10, 2018 04:10 PM (AM1GF)

California disregards federal law routinely, on behalf of both illegal immigrants and the corrupt super-wealthy.

It isn't part of the same nation as Texas anymore, and if the government can't restore order the Constitution is a dead letter. (It can't, and won't.)

Why would you think this? He owns the GOP now, and purging it of political consultants- preferably with a guillotine, though I will settle for layoffs- is well within the power of his appointees.

If the GOP fails to sufficiently eliminate Never Trump as a faction, the blame lies firmly on the President and his appointees. Few priorities are more important.

335 #288 this guy gets it. Left Twitter last year when they started this shit. And Facebook. My life is not at all diminished by not participating in Social Media.

In fact, it's highly probable that your life WILL be diminished if you do participate. I'd much rather have zero social media footprint than having any of my conservative views publicly available for use by the Social Justice mob. You're a fool if you think employment decisions these days don't include social media review. It's perfectly legal to question Progressive policy, but if you get one Social Justice warrior in the hiring decision loop, you're done.

They've won, on this front. But when I grew up, before Social Media, speaking of politics in public was considered poor taste. Why anyone would want to create a paper trail of their views is beyond me. Only works if you're already rich, own your own business and don't need new clients, are employed by Conservative media, work in Conservative politics, or don't give a shit (and are confident that you still won't give a shit 20 years from now when all of your posts are still "out there" in the ether).

We win the old fashioned way, at the ballot box, and the new way, by suing the shit out of everything Progressive.

Guesswork isn't the issue. Imagine an incompetent teachee desperately trying to hobble young minds with complicated equations designed to be useless for complex problems, and you have Goldberg to a tee. Most of the President's greatest victories, especially on tariffs, involve ignoring conventional wisdom and simply ploughing ahead after a brief explanation.

Turkey, China, Venezuela, and Canada are all taking it in the teeth trade wise. America isn't doing well in spite of this, but because of it. If Trump's trade rivals were smart they would see the pattern. As it is, the rats will turn on each other to gain the slightest advantage.
