The Morning Rant: J.V. Edition

punk-monkey.jpg

What a concept! Maintaining the traditions and culture of your country by limiting the entrance of foreigners whose culture is anathema to yours. I guess that Hungarians don't have the national suicide gene that seems to be dominant in a few other European countries, like Sweden and France and Germany and the UK and...

The knee-jerk retort from the Left will be, "Oh, that's just what the Nazis said!" And that is half true, but in this case there is the example of other countries being destroyed by the same kind of immigration that Hungary is preventing. This is not political fear-mongering and xenophobia. This is a well-founded awareness of the destructive potential of Muslim immigration.

'No submission to Islam:' Victor Orban outlines explicitly conservative goals for Hungary

In an October 2016 referendum, 98.4 percent of Hungarians voted against accepting migrants allotted to their country by the European Union. Admittedly, a government campaign for a no-vote along with an opposition boycott artificially inflated this number; but it does point to a majority rejecting unvetted migrants. As one prominent Orban ally told me, "We like Muslims, but over there, not here."
Is there a hint of the same irrational hatred that allowed the Nazis to kill 70% of Hungary's Jews in the Holocaust? I don't know, but it wouldn't surprise me. Yet the Dutch and the Belgians, supposedly paragons of enlightened thought, gleefully assisted the Nazis in the extermination of about the same percentage of their Jews, and they are dissolute and without national pride and are rapidly giving in to the Islamist hordes.

So if I were a betting man, I would put money on an Islamist-run pogrom occurring in Western Europe well before anything like that happens in Eastern Europe.

******

Just in case you haven't seen this. Cuomo makes a clear and unambiguous statement. He knew exactly what he was saying, and we should hold him to his words.

If there is a God, he will make Andrew Cuomo the Democrat nominee for president in 2020.

Watched Jaws the other day for the first time in a long time.

I forgot a lot about it. Like how good Spielberg was at makling movies (note - watched Ready Player One, directed by Spielberg, and while I like the movie overall it was kind of meh). I think my favorite sequence is when Hooper and Quint are telling their scar stories. Brody looks at his appendix scar meekly, and says not a thing. Hooper pulls out a big leg scar and its a topper!

Quint tells his story about the Indianapolis.

Ain't nobody topping that. Awkward.

Then the shark breaks it up.

63 I think there is more to the story on the father who beat and killed the guy who allegedly followed his daughter. First it was a convience store so probably only one bathroom. The guy did not enter but allegedly beat on the door. I also did not read about any contact or confrontation between the man and the daughter other than he beat on the door. The father's criminal record appears to be extensive. Does the decease have any priors? Anyway I'm not labeling the father a hero just yet.

Now, if it were a ladies bathroom and he went in and started banging on a stall door that's a bit different. Just sounds like dad wasn't happy the security guard wasn't curb stomping the guy.

111 I think there is more to the story on the father who beat and killed the guy who allegedly followed his daughter.

You you think your toilet has a slow leak from the flapper?

Assuming that your toilet and tank have clear water in them, place several drops of food coloring in the tank.

Do NOT flush it.

Come back in an hour or so, depending on the amount of food coloring that you added.

If your bowl water is beginning to change to the same color as the tank water....

you have a flapper leak.

Or, your fill valve is leaking by, and causing water to flow over the tank stand pipe, into the bowl.

137 I guess that Hungarians don't have the national suicide gene that seems to be dominant in a few other European countries, like Sweden and France and Germany and the UK and...

========

That's only half the equation. The Muslims have the same belief about keeping their culture pure, as do the Chinese and the Japanese. None of them believes in open borders or quota obligations either.

========

Not only that. It would be stupid to compare Muslim migration to Jewish communities in Europe. Jewish communities kept to themselves. They never tried to push their ways politically onto Europe or felt the need to bomb them the way Muslims do. Any such comparison is simply ridiculous.

That's one reason why I studiously avoid getting into fights. For one, I don't want to come up against someone more badass or skilled than me.

'Cause that'd mean that I'd have to shoot the sonofabitch, providing I could draw and fire in close combat proximity.

It also means that that sonofabitch has a near-equal chance of getting my gun and using it in the wrong direction, a.k.a. "me".

Finally, if it turns out I'm the badder asser of the pairing, I don't wanna go to jail for crushing the sonofabitch's larynx, cause that's where things are going to go in an instant.

I'm not throwing no haymakers, roundhouses or what the hells. Not gonna break my hand against some idiot's skull.

But, I've got near-simian grade grip strength, and one grasp of the throat with a crushing grip, and it's game over in sonofabitchsville.

So, I avoid getting into fights.

240 in the "don't fight the last war" category ... Hitler spread his power by military force, but Russia used infiltration into DC and walked away with control of half of Europe. They kept Hungary/Poland/Czechs and half Germany (Merkel's half) behind their iron curtain for decades, as they continued to infiltrate America, and to march through our institutions.

Then somewhere along the continuum, Wall Street and 2Big2Fail/Jail banksters took control of monetary policy, decided what wars we fight and who gets sanctioned (Iran,Russia ... not China .. thx Clintons/Feinsteins/McConnells).

"They" confiscated the gold... standard way back, Nixon floated US completely and now fiat currency allows unlimited leverage (out of London) and a quadrillion(?) dollar derivative market (unregulated, un-tethered).

The current "war" ... it's the economy, stupid. Or actually it's the billionaires and trillionaires that own everything, and have floated up these social justice internet giant turds out of paper promises. But that fake paper is buying up real American assets ... buying America on their own printed credit, claiming they can censor us all.

And they got dominance by buying our government on the cheap ... pay for play. That is the heart of the war ... along with the "socialism" that is needed to usher it all in as our replacement. imo

Dude's actions do not bother me in the slightest.

What is Arizona father's threat to society ? Seems like that answer is "no threat at all - provided you don't try to follow his daughter into a bathroom stall".

Now ... if YOU think "death by beating" is too harsh a penalty for following YOUR daughter into a bathroom stall ... then don't pass that sentence, assuming you're ever in that situation.

The penalty for following this guy's daughter into the bathroom was death. I can live with that. It's an extremely easy consequence to avoid.

Like, WTF does that mean? Sure, he tries to couch it with the woman's right here, and other BS. But seriously. WTF? I know it's the Left's practice to put out a marker that is impossible to measure. We won't stop _______ until racism no longer exists. You can't ever reach that goal. It's impossible to measure. And if you could, simple common sense says: There's always going to be a margin of error.

So his remark is doubly-doubly stupid.

Trump didn't pull his clearance because Brennan was criticizing him. It is not a coincidence that on Monday evening Rudy flat out stated that Brennan was the ring leader of the coup attempt and Wednesday Trump pulled his clearance.

Trump is going to be speaking soon and it sounds like he will be addressing it.

He could have just said he didn't have a pen, but he stopped what he was doing and started looking for one. After it was over the wife asks "who was that". 466 I've got to say, I'm really uncomfortable with all of the people who are OK with attacking someone after the threat is over.

Maybe it's all the time I've worked on trying to train my brain that if I ever have to shoot someone, once they give up I don't get to deliver the coup de grace shot.

What do you guys think of the Florida parking lot shooting? Busybody harangues woman in a car, her man shoves the busybody, busybody lies there thinking about it for a few seconds, then as the man is backing off, starts shooting.

Using the "bad guys get what they deserve" metric, who's right here? The busybody got a good shove for screaming at a woman in a parked car. The guy doing the shoving got what he deserved by being shot. So again, who was right?

To me, the shooter was 100% in the wrong. The guy who shoved him was backing off, and the shooting started several seconds after the shove. I think this is a much simpler and reliable metric than "bad guys get what they deserve". You shoot when you're in grave danger, and you stop shooting when there's no longer a threat.

I don't buy it. Evil is a make-believe concept we've invented to deal with the complexities of fellow humans holding values and beliefs and perspectives different than our own - it's easier to dismiss an opinion as abhorrent than strive to understand it.

521 473 I wonder when the riots start?

Maduro has announced the end of subsidized gas at Venezuelan filling stations.

Venezuela's president has said its subsidised fuel prices should rise, to stop smugglers cheating the country out of billions of dollars.

"Gasoline must be sold at an international price to stop smuggling to Colombia and the Caribbean," Nicolas Maduro said in a televised address.

At the old price of 1 bolivar per liter, you could buy 950 thousand liters for one US dollar.

Yep, good times ahead.

529 466 Using the "bad guys get what they deserve" metric, who's right here? The busybody got a good shove for screaming at a woman in a parked car. The guy doing the shoving got what he deserved by being shot. So again, who was right?

To me, the shooter was 100% in the wrong. The guy who shoved him was backing off, and the shooting started several seconds after the shove. I think this is a much simpler and reliable metric than "bad guys get what they deserve". You shoot when you're in grave danger, and you stop shooting when there's no longer a threat.

530 Maduro has announced the end of subsidized gas at Venezuelan filling stations. "

It's a more interesting development than you might think at first blush. This pricing has been an economic mistake ever since Chavez took over, and has been a huge gaping wound in the government's financial state, BUT it was seen as a crucial part of "Chavismo" and was kept around to show solidarity with the "working people" and to buy their support.

By dropping it, Maduro (more importantly, the people running him, since he is just a puppet) have decided that they no longer need any wide support, they can use the army to rule by force directly, and simply shoot or starve anyone who objects. It marks the final descent into full-blown communist dictatorship, enforced by guns alone.

Other news - since CITGO is about to be seized by creditors, foreign exchange and trade are going to drop to near zero, food imports will mostly dry up, and the starvation and chaos is going to move up to a whole new level. I would imagine massacres and wide scale executions are just around the corner.

Use the solvent that dare not speak its name (gasoline). Had to do that this week on a Suburban. Hit some tar where they were chip-sealing a road. Both left side wheel-wells, underside of the running board, and lower body panels. Two damned hours. Worse, the doggie had lain down under the truck, and got tar in her coat. Didn't use gasoline on the dog, though; cut there worst clumps out with scissors.

533 This reminds me of high school. From CNN:

From The Martha's Vineyard Times to the Dallas Morning News...from the Yankton County Observer in South Dakota to the Bangor Daily News in Maine...the papers are all running editorials as part of an effort first proposed by the Boston Globe earlier this month.

"This whole project is not anti-Trump. It's really pro-press," The Globe's editorial says.

Each paper wrote its own editorial. The campaign is significant because it moves the conversation about Trump's attacks out of Washington and New York and into communities across the country.

Get it? We bible-and-gun-toting hicks in flyover country were not talking about Trump's feud with the MSM, so some elitist Bostonian had the bright idea to get all/most major newspapers to write editorial about it today!!

*head-smack*

Apparently our local newspapers cutting staff in favor of canned AP/Rueters articles, and our access to the 24x7 news channels is not enough to keep us hicks informed.

535 The guy doing the shoving got what he deserved by being shot. So again, who was right? "

This is a good example of the real kind of cases cops have to deal with every day, where in fact NO ONE was right, everyone involved was wrong, and one guy is dead, his kids are without a father, and the other guy is being charged with manslaughter and may face years in jail.

The lives of everyone involved in this incident have been wrecked or ended, and all any of them had to do to stop that from happening was walk away rather than escalate.

No arguments there.

He did a guest spot on Spinal Tap's Break Like The Wind album.

Title song. Lots of other guests wanking like crazy. Lukather, Slash, Satriani etc. Monster guitar solos.

Beck gets the last solo. I swear, he only played about 10 notes. But his first 3 SLOW notes were so exquisitely perfect, so tastefully..... Beck, that it blows the other guests away. Embarrassingly so.
