Marvel/Disney Director James Gunn in Twitter Flap

Here's Mike Cernovich on the tweets, which have now been mass deleted.

"An Open Secret" is really pushing the tweets.

The tweets make a lot of taboo jokes, about the Holocaust and, especially, pedophilia.

I honestly do not have a problem with any of the jokes. They're edgy -- yes. But... so what?

What gives this more juice than it would otherwise have is the exchange at the end of Cernovich's post. There, a post to him says "You might enjoy this video," and links to a video calling itself "100 pre-pubescent girls touch themselves." Gunn responds, "Enjoy it? I came all over my face!"

But that's clearly a joke. As to the video itself, though no one dares click on it (as that would technically make you a sex criminal, assuming it was a pedo video), people are telling Ethan Van Sciver that 4chan people say they've clicked on it, or know what it is, and it's a misleadingly titled video that's supposed to be a joke. The claims is that it's a video of 100 schoolgirls singing the DiVinyl's "I Touch Myself" or something (which itself is kind of questionable, but... not pedophilia).

I'm not clicking on anything titled that either, so I can't say what the truth is.

What complicates this, of course, is that Disney fired Roseanne Barr for making a joke that the left claimed was racist, but will not, I assume, fire James Gunn for making pedophilia jokes.

Incidentally, I believe both Roseanne Bar and James Gunn. I think Roseanne Barr did not know Valerie Jarrett was black for a simple reason: Because I didn't know that myself.

She says she assumed Jarrett was Iranian; I believe that, because I assumed that too. I always heard of Valerie Jarrett's family's close relations to Iran; I assumed that meant they were Iranian.

I also think James Gunn was just making a lot of edgy jokes.

But Disney did fire Barr -- so should Gunn be spared the Social Justice whip?

Although one might say two wrongs don't make a right, let me explain the wrong I care about avoiding: the wrong in which liberals are permitted to say whatever they like without consequence, but where I will be fired and hounded out of civil society for saying the same sort of thing.

I will not put up with that, and yeah, I think I'll demand a bullshit firing of James Gunn, because I will insist on the #SameRules applying to both liberals and myself.

So yeah, fire this pedo-normalizing monster.

Yeah that one cracked me up. Everyone was suddenly "of course she's black, she's always been black, everyone knew that!!!!" when for 9 years she was identified as Iranian and Persian and she looks about as black as Carlos Mencia.

I don't think people should be fired for this kind of thing, but I do want the rules to be applied equally, or they'll always be just used as a weapon against one group. Its like laws that were only prosecuted when blacks carried them out in bigoted areas: that's not a law, its a weapon to punish people we don't like.

It's funny because this started with Gunn doing something he's done often: being an intolerant jerk on twitter - this time about Ben Shapiro (despite defending friend Marc Duplasse). He is unforgiving when it comes to Laura Ingraham's tweet about Hogg - he was all "Apology not accepted, you need to be destroyed!"

I am at a point where the rules have to apply to everyone - or the mob will continue to destroy people like Rosanne Barr and the Papa Johns dude. Everyone makes mistakes, yet only some people lose their reputations and livelihood in 24hrs or less for them.

I know a guy who has what he called his "PornPad": an old iPad he keep hidden away where no one can find it. Late at night, when everyone's asleep, he takes it out to look at porn on. Why not use his regular computer? Because he shares it with his wife, and is afraid that one day she look at the history/cache/cookies and see that porn has been viewed on the computer. So he keeps that computer porn-free, and also his regular iPad porn-free. He keeps a special PornPad reserved exclusively for that purpose.

Ricky Gervais tells a rather awful joke, that has elements of incest AND pedophelia to it. It's not... graphic, but it is specific.

It's not a funny joke.

The fact that he's telling this not very funny joke, about a subject so full of taboo, is rather a fine joke. Not laugh out loud ha ha funny, but funny in that "I can't believe Ricky Gervais just told that joke" kind of way.

I kinda think that's Gunn's thing. He knows it's not funny. It's not supposed to be funny. It's supposed to be funny that he's telling an unfunny joke about a subject NONE of us are supposed to joke about, because how DARE we!!

There's another way to face the problem, an idea suggested by many many thinkers, on the topic of how will we transform with respect to the information revolution?

And the best answer is to Decentralize. Let Disney fall, but let it be replaced by 1000 small independant producers. So they won't be big budget, so what? When was the last time a big budget production from Disney was really very good anyways?

The answer to problems in schools - decentralize, let them be replaced with home scooling and a larger number of small and private schools. Let the Universities die off, at least in part, and let them be replaced by more focused OJT and smaller, regional outlets. Bust up Google. Bust up Amazon. Bust them all up. When none of the prized are very big, they aren't worth the effort to try and take them over anymore.

I don't think we can peacefully destroy the SJW's - but we can destroy everything that they want to capture, and replace them with things that are too hard to capture.

Any suggestions Horde? Places to visit or good places to eat? Don't want to travel too far from Clay County, but would consider anything in a neighboring county to be a reasonable distance. I like museums, historical sites and plain food, well made. It's a whole lotta nuthin' for a lot of miles there, but I know there have got to be hidden gems.

I love raccoons. I'm going to tell a raccoon story that I've told before but I don't think I've told it often enough to wear it out.

There was a book, "Rascal", by Sterling North that was popular in the early sixties. It was the first non-picture book I ever read and I read it over and over.

It's Minnesota, 1918, and our protagonist is a rural lad who find an abandoned raccoon kit. He raises it for a year, names it Rascal, and has all kinds of adventures. (It's also an amazing du temps perdu thing about rural America just after the war).

Anyway, the point of the book is that after a year Rascal has grown up and raccoons are not in fact pets. They're wild. The day comes when Sterling has to turn Rascal loose. Rascal comes back a month later to wave goodbye and that's it.

I am going to remind you here that the point of the book is that raccoons are not pets.

So, in the 70s Japan fell in love with the book. They made a Japanese cartoon of Rascal and all of Japan fell in love with it.

Then all of Japan started importing raccoons to be pets. Apparently, all of Japan missed a detail.

Japan is now overrun with an invasive species, our cuddly raccoon.

We were talking about raccoons because there's one (or probably more than one) that sneaks into the yard every evening and eats any leftover cat food that's on the patio. Good gravy that is outrageous! We spent $100 on dinner out for four on a Monday, that included no alcohol, appetizers or dessert. And it was just okay. But it was a least just the food, not having to park,etc.

The now-ironically named Dark Horse Comics started in the early 90s in Portland Oregon with some guys who just wanted to make better comics. They're the 3rd largest comic book company in the world now, and they did it with comedy, content in genres being underserved, and most importantly movie and TV licensing with quality products: Predator, Aliens, etc.

But what was frustrating was that it was underwhelming, and I got horribly sick that night, after telling them I had a severe dairy allergy. I'm not sure they didn't include some dairy just to be butts.

So the conclusion is I will cook our food, so that I know what is in it, and that it will taste good, and I will get Chick Fil A next year for my birthday. I will be happier, as will my family.

The now-ironically named Dark Horse Comics started in the early 90s in Portland Oregon with some guys who just wanted to make better comics. They're the 3rd largest comic book company in the world now, and they did it with comedy, content in genres being underserved, and most importantly movie and TV licensing with quality products: Predator, Aliens, etc.

Dark Horse was also the first American publisher for translated manga and USA-mad comics done in the manga style. It's been about a third of their business, and profitable for them.

The elephant in the room for the DC/Marvel sales kerfuffle is that translated manga not only matches but exceeds them in sales, both in number of volumes and $$ per volume.

That was bad enough, but what was worse was the picture of the "thank you notes" to the abortion clinic, that included one saying, "they cannot defetus."

Yeah they did, and when the movies were out Dark Horse made bank as people bought The Mask comics and then tried out their other stuff. I am still annoyed that Hollywood didn't use their Alien Versus Predator series for the movies and insisted on making lame B-movie crap instead.

Of course, we get paid more, because stuff costs money and that's just life.

Renting a three bedroom house runs from about $2400/mo up to $4500. Buying is a little better of deal, but still pretty high. Heating it is another matter.

The trade off is we don't have to deal with the Lower 48 and all of its nonsense, and at the end of the month, there's more left over for things like travel if we DO decide to deal with it.

When we are in the states, we pay for everybody's fun, because it is silly cheap.

A huge limiting factor is the localities attitude towards expansion. Why does Texas real estate remain comparatively cheap? Texas Population right now appears to be growing at a rate of almost 10,000 people PER WEEK. Imagine how much construction has to be done just to house them!

So why do prices skyrocket in San Fran, and not in Texas? Because new construction is almost impossible in California. There is permitting, and green belts, and an endless number of hindrances that mean the housing they've got is all they've got, so if people want to get into an area the price for existing housing is going to spike - which is what is happening. Portland has done the same thing with the enviro-greenbelt around the city idea.

They don't realize that they may be spiking prices and making owners feel good in the short run, but they're guaranteeing economic stagnation and eventual decline of their cities long run - as opposed to Texas cities, which are in a state of perpetual renewal.

I love that idea.

It will have to wait until I've got the new restaurant built. One of the problems we have with the current kitchen is that it's impossible to make great pancakes on the same griddle you're making hash browns and sausage on. Too many flavors getting mixed up and the temperatures are not ideal for either one.

The roof trusses have already been delivered for the new building, but I've had to delay because the drain commissioner was not please with my parking lot rainwater design.

Well, let me start by saying that I do think that I've been psychologically damaged by being exposed to. Near the end, I took a dipstick test of my psychological well being at a DA conference and I came out burned out as hell. One manifestation of that is being as easy to offend as a 19 year old women's studies major and another, paradoxically, is just not giving a damn. I think these "jokes" have no place in decent society but I would allow them to go unpunished but for the vitriol cast at any who stray across the PC line.

It might be a little farther than you want to travel, but Hutchinson KS has a really good space museum, if you're into that kind of thing. They have a lot of Soviet space hardware, more than I've seen anywhere else. Honestly, I was expecting an old rusty Morten building in a cornfield, but the place is really nice, with a bunch of unique exhibits.

She was actually born in Iran, but to Black parents. At least her mother is Black. But, Jarrett is so light skinned, it wouldn't surprise me if her mother got some Persian action on the side and that Jarrett is actually half Iranian.

You know she was on a show, finding your roots. DNA testing indicated that Jarrett is of 49% European, 46% African, and 5% Native American descent.

Um, so, she is mostly white European. She certainly looks white European, although I might have believed Hispanic or Persian.
