2 Good Morning Morons today is Sunday, July 15, 2018. On this day in 1959 the United Steel Workers union killed their golden goose. They invoked the steel strike of 1959 which ultimately led to the importation of foreign steel for the first time in United States history. Currently 26% of the steel used in the US comes from foreign companies. Prior to 1959 almost no steel came in from foreign companies.

Minnesota law bars felons from running for state-level offices but does not prevent them from seeking federal positions.

Guess what, this is true for every State IIANM. The Constitution sets the qualifications for being a Senator and not being a felon is not included.

In a stunning development, presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton was assaulted this morning by a 8", concrete filled bollard, as she exited the Manhattan 'Live for the children' worship service. Sources claim the stationary object suddenly lurched forward and 'pounced' upon the heir to the throne leaving her prone and disoriented. Security quickly responded and were able to toss the candidate into a local passing garbage truck minus a shoe. Land field recovery teams are working through the night in hopes of making a successful recovery. Donald Trump sends his prayers...!

Mueller is not closing his investigation he is merely fixing the glitch that was created when he indicted companies instead of individuals in the first bogus indictment.

In this indictment he names only individuals who would have to appear in court to enter a plea if they wanted to fight it.

Corporations can appear in court through attorneys and intermediaries unlike individuals.

Mueller will withdraw the previous indictments and these new ones will be the ones left on the docket because unlike the first case, discovery will never happen because no one is going to appear in court with standing to demand it.

He also spun this off to the DOJ proper for a handful of reasons.

Reason one, he will not have to use his own assets to maintain and develop the case. He can use those to keep banging away at Trump and his satellites.

Reason two, the case will never be adjudicated and thus never resolved thus can be used forever to stall congress requests for documents and information because they will use the, "can't comment on an on-going investigation" canard.

Reason three, It keeps the Russian Collusion Narrative alive for the foreseeable future and was also timed to fuck up Trumps meeting with Putin.

As I said yesterday...

I hope when Trump gets back from meeting with Putin he fires Rosentstein for trying to embarrass him and playing politics.

Hopefully someone asks Putin about these preposterous charges.

If I were Putin I would say the following...

"These charges are baseless and malicious.

If the so called Department of Justice would like to proceed with
this farce, my administration will call for a hearing in the General
Assembly of the UN, there the so called Department of Justice will make a
presentation of the evidence they have collected, I will send legal
emissaries to listen and ask questions of the so called prosecutors and
investigators of the so called Department of Justice.

If the presentation and cross examination shows compelling evidence
that Russian citizens committed these alleged crimes, I will personally
deliver them to the US authorities for trial."

I bet Roesenpenis balks at that scenario.

This is all a multi-act production of The Aristocrats.

102 Morning peeps.

I mowed about 4 acres yesterday in the 90 degree heat. Thankfully the tractor has a canopy. We're going to get rain here in the Bluegrass in an hour or so.

Neighbor's grandson got out of jail and is "camped out" in the guy's backyard. He and his squeeze are on a trailer, made into a makeshift bed. In about an hour they'll be wide awake and wet.

I love rural life.

The "witness" is but one of hundreds of "witnesses" named in the Manefort suit.

This particular witness will never be called, so its a disingenuous.

There are also other methods to limit peoples communications without imprisoning them.

Also, all of Maneforts communications are under constant surveillance and recording so It would seem that the government would love to have Manefort keep talking and to as many people as possible.

The is all outrageous and utterly criminal on the part of Mueller and his bully boys.

I learned just recently that the University of Massachusetts bans not only smoking on the campus but e-cigs as well.

This is madness. It has nothing to do with health and everything to do with controlling behavior.

I strongly suspect that their policies towards marijuana are a bit more... relaxed, shall we say.

And that's just one college that I know of. There are probably many like that.

Nancy Pelosi is having trouble getting her brain and mouth to coordinate. Her brains are scrambling.
There are lots of rumblings about replacing her. Steny Hoyer and Jim Clyburn have made noises about being her successor.
The mid-terms will be a game changer for the Democrats if the Blue Wave materializes, and maybe even if it does not.

The Democrats are losing their grip on Millenials and minorities. They need to do something to bring them back to the plantation.

This actually makes a lot of sense, given Democrat politics, in this way:

1) One, they keep all the Clintonites and lunatic fymynysts onboard.

2) Two, the Dims place their next Obama as Veep candidate and let them do the bulk of the campaigning - the MSM will make them seem like a god

3) Three, they hope for a "Palin effect" among their crowd, where people are planning to vote for the veep rather than head of the ticket.

4) If Hillary! loses, no sweat. The Veep is set up for the next run and will be the de facto new head of Teh Resistance

or more likely

5) The Old Switcheroo - suddenly all of the medical info they've kept hidden about Hillary! sees the light of day via a hard push by the MSM.

Hillary! can't be the Presidential candidate cuz she's just too darn sick. Shucks! Well, we tried...

But hey! Let just put her veep New Obama in her place as Presidential Candidate.(they've done similar switcheroos in the past and Yes, they were illegal but the Whipped Dog GOP did nothing.)

Yay! We've got to win this for warhorse Hillary!.

Etc.

228 I read that Zero Hedge Article of Outrage against Elon Musk. I find it quite amusing that not only do the Twitterati not seem to understand what's going on, neither does the author or anyone in the comments section. (but it's ZH, that's not saying much)

All of Musk's businesses depend on government largesse to survive. He harvests cash from the government in a variety of clever, attention grabbing ways, but he's got to make sure that he constantly lubricates the system to keep the cash flowing his way. So, when Dems are in power he gives a lot of money to Dems, when Republicans are in power he gives a lot of money to Republicans. And when asked what he "believes" he does a very good job of trying to cover everyone without offending any of his paymasters too much. (a tricky job, so far he's done it, but who knows if he can keep his balance) That's how the game is played, when you're a dedicated client of the Govm't.

I very much doubt that Elon Musk has ever believed in anything other than keeping the magic Fountain of Government Cash flowing and directed his way.

That describes every corporation. Many of them give money to both parties in each election cycle to cover their bets.

We have an insanely complicated and Byzantine tax system, full of deductions and credits. Every taxpayer is entitled to take any legal deduction they can to minimize their tax bill. Yes, I would prefer a simple flat tax with no deductions.

Likewise, the government offers rebates to buyers of electric cars and for people to install solar panels on their homes. I disagree with that, and wish it was not the case.

But Elon Musk did not create that system, and he does not deserve to be singled out for criticism for taking advantage of it. The rebate applies to buyers of any electric car, including those made by GM, Ford, and Toyota.

Maybe Tesla is more noticeable because they make only electric cars, but they are by no means the only beneficiary of the rebate.

And anybody who thinks that SpaceX has gotten special treatment from the government needs to read up on United Launch Alliance, a consortium of Boeing and Lockheed Martin, which was a literal, established government monopoly long before SpaceX came along.

For some reason that is inexplicable to me, sports team owners who twist politicians' arms to get taxpayers to build them new stadiums every few years never seem to be singled out for opprobrium the way Elon Musk has.
