There are three options, as far as I can tell:
1) Trump is uncharacteristically unwilling or unable to deal with a spectacularly non-performing subordinate, in this area and in this area alone;
2) Sessions has Trump's approval and there is some sort of secret plan or at the very least things are going the way Trump wants them to;
3) OR, the information about what the situation up in DC we are getting from the press, both MSM and alt/conservative media, is critically incomplete and the situation is much different than we have been led to believe, so our expectations for how people should be acting are based on fake news and thus doomed to disappointment.
So, is Trump an incompetent executive, a a chestmaster, or are we just in a bubble? Or a combination of these things?

1) Trump is uncharacteristically unwilling or unable to deal with a spectacularly non-performing subordinate, in this area and in this area alone;
2) Sessions has Trump's approval and there is some sort of secret plan or at the very least things are going the way Trump wants them to;
3) OR, the information about what the situation up in DC we are getting from the press, both MSM and alt/conservative media, is critically incomplete and the situation is much different than we have been led to believe, so our expectations for how people should be acting are based on fake news and thus doomed to disappointment.
