There are groups that do that, especially with migrant farm laborer and day laborers. I have no idea how well it turned out, since it was really hard to collect statistics. Generally they only come forward for help when they get really screwed over.

I think the main thing that would help would be to tell them their employer is obligated by law to do certain things, not "you have the right to something"

Your employer is obliged by law to pay you this amount per hour, minimum. Not, you have the right to be paid such amount per hour.

Letting Turkey into NATO when the purpose of the organization was to oppose Soviet geographical ambitions was a good idea, and made sense. It kept the Soviets from getting any crazy ideas about Turkey.

I do wonder how many employers who have a lot of "transitory" or seasonal employees just list ghost employees with bad SSN (shoot, just take the names and numbers from ex employees you are pretty sure could not pass) and declare them as employee, pay the withholding and take the tax break for the employee. The difference is probably the value of a new truck every couple of years.

When the garnishment notice comes, you pay a couple of months, and then declare the employee walked with no forwarding address and ask what to do with his final check.

If the employee gets minimum wage, there may never be any collection though. The feds and many states have a minimum yearly tax debt they will pursue, below that is a hassle and looks bad. Someone making $9/hour for a 35 hour week for 40 weeks may not owe enough to make it interesting.

If I had my druthers, I would suspend the tax write off on any employee that has a mismatch between name, DOB and SSN. The employer can get it back if the employee straightens out his issue with the IRS.

I suspect that the Dems are going to spend a few more cycles in the wilderness. The academic wing won't admit that they were wrong, and in fact will go even further left out of spite.

In my geezer league I play baseball with (and against) a number of guys who played in MLB, albeit briefly. Almost everybody there played at least in high school, most of us in college, and many of us in the minor leagues.

Occasionally we have a newb show up recounting great exploits in his past (as we joke, "the older I get, the better I used to be"). The thing they don't realize is that we watch them: how they throw, how they swing, how they run, and we know the truth inside of a few minutes. Some guy claimed to have played in the low minors, then he uncorks a few girly throws? We all look at each other significantly. Low minors. Right.

Same thing with Obama and academia.

I think the Democrat plan right now is to cause mass chaos--expect riots at some point, either this summer and/or the summer of 2020. They want it to be so messy and ugly and disheartening and soul-killing that they can get enough people to believe that Trump is the CAUSE of it and that--even if he has done a *few* "good things"--we really need to get back to "normalcy" and "bring people together" by voting Democrat.

Not saying it will work, but I believe that's what they will be trying to do

I don't think I've ever seen anyone curl 70 lb. dumbbells, cleanly that is: no clean and curl, no swinging the weights, no back involvement, elbows fixed at the side.

I've seen lots of guys curl that and more, but with shitty form. I'm talking about sitting on a bench with your back against the inclined back support, elbows at side, and simply curling the weights slowly and without swinging.

In Byzantine Greek too - sort of. 'Hamartolos' was used for a Christian monk. Such monks identified as sinners.
