I watched the repair guy last time. There's a place in the bottom of the freezer that is supposed to be heated to make it frost free. A little electrical board in the fridge goes kaput, and the defrosted water now stays in this area and blocks cold air going to the fridge. I can take out the frozen food, fire up a hair dryer to melt the ice, and all will be good for a few days. I'm hoping I can get it repaired on Monday

25 Bruce, that happened to me about a year ago.Freezer was working great, the fridge was warm.

Turns out the little fan that blows the cold air from the freezer to to fridge was stuck in some ice.

I put every thing into a big ice chest and turned off the thing. I took a hair dryer and defrosted the coils in the freezer. Voila it's working again. And a lot quieter. If you fridge is making noise, that's a bad thing.

40 My refrigerator talks to me, well it tries to talk to me. I freaked the ex-girlfriend out when I tried to localize the voices I was hearing late at night, one night. It sounded like a distant conversation where the words are indistinct and all you hear is the rising and falling tone and inflection of a conversation between two people.

When I realized the sound was being made by the coolant going through the evaporator coils I could then ignore it.

I only hear the noise now when I'm wondering if the electricity has gone away during the night. If the 'fridge is running, the power is on.

I've read reports of families being turned away, to come back later when border agents not so busy, and having to sleep under bridges. If the Administration makes it crystal clear that sneaking across the border is totally unnecessary for asylum seekers, then that ought to undercut ANY argument by the Dems that such lawbreaking should be tolerated.

________________

They don't care if what they say is true or not. Just like Time magazine and the photographer who took the photo of the crying kid on the cover. The photographer knew the kid had not been "separated" from her mother, and Time knew it too. But they all published it anyway.

The husband of the woman who brought that kid into the U.S. says he has a good job in Honduras. The woman was previously deported from the U.S. in 2013, on what was apparently her first illegal entry. The husband says she has family living here. They have probably been regaling her with stories of all the "free" money they're getting from the U.S. government.

There had to have been a powerful incentive for this woman to leave her other kids behind in Honduras, pay a coyote $6,000, and put herself and her little girl at risk of rape, kidnapping, sex-trafficking, etc., by the cartels in Mexico. But what's a more powerful incentive than the prospect of free money?

Illegal aliens who successfully claim asylum in the U.S. get paid thousands of dollars every month in cash and other benefits. This woman's relatives were probably telling her that she was a sucker for not hopping on board the gravy train with them. So now she's in a detention center in TX, awaiting a hearing on her asylum claim. And if it's denied and she's deported, she'll likely be paying another coyote again next year to sneak her in back across the border once more.

Meanwhile, U.S. taxpayers continue to pay through the nose for all these illegal alien scammers, one way or another. We're either paying billions for their bullshit asylum claims, or we're paying billions to house them here and provide them with lawyers and translators and food and clothing and medical care, etc., while they await their hearings. And for the ones who can't convince a judge to grant them asylum, they get deported, and then they come back over and over and over to do it all again.

100 From WaPo, which I definitely ain't linking --

In a pair of court filings Friday, the special counsel added four assistant U.S. attorneys to the case against Russian entities and people accused of running an online influence operation targeting American voters. People familiar with the staffing decision said the new prosecutors are not joining Mueller's team, but rather are being added to the case.

Supposedly due to Mueller winding up his witchhunt, but more likely so his ass ain't in court about having to provide discovery materials to that group of Russians demanding a speedy trial. Sigh.

106 I've been saying this for at lease the last forever, the US immigration system is oriented towards one goal only - Reduce the white majority.
So to that end immigration is nothing more than a race to use any avenue that is provided to shove as many third world garbage people and Democrat voters through the gates as fast as possible before the American people wake up and slam it shut.
We are nearly to the point of it all being academic.
Once the white population falls below 65pct or therabouts, it's all over except the shouting as we will be overwhelmed with invaders.

As I said yesterday, the British used Hessians, the Democrats and the GOPe use Hondurans, Guatamalans, Mexicans, Indian, Africans, Muslims, etc.

I'm not disputing that there are left leaning media people who would rather not look too closely at it but it seems that one of the main ingredients that keeps other mass shooting stories going--ongoing court proceedings, hearings, trial, sentencing, etc.-- is missing in this case.

Yeah, if it had been talked about, people might have wondered just how the shooter knew how to find that baseball game, which was at a rather obscure location (and he knew nothing about DC). And then they might have noticed that the shooter was in contact with Dick Durbin's office immediately before the shooting.

Now I don't think Durbin knew that there would be shooting, but I think Durbin would still be mighty embarrassed to have it come out that he gave the shooter a map directing him to his intended victims.

That's my suspicion, also. Durbin is an A-1 a$$hole besides being a scumbag Lefty: don't forget, he labeled American troops as "Nazis" during the Bush #2 administration.

Ships, even US Navy auxiliaries, used CO2 and even ammonia as refrigerants. Accidents yes, but it was all they had before freon (which rarely killed people).

And that's the answer to the question - How come everyone in the media acts like the Scalise shooting never happened and has worked as hard as they can to bury the story from day one? Durbin was complicit in it, and they know it.

168 Wanted to raise this question in the last thread.... is it possible that the main reason the Scalise shooting seems to have been forgotten is simply because the perp is dead and there are no court proceedings to cover as a result? I'm not disputing that there are left leaning media people who would rather not look too closely at it but it seems that one of the main ingredients that keeps other mass shooting stories going--ongoing court proceedings, hearings, trial, sentencing, etc.-- is missing in this case.

Aren't the perps almost universally dead by the end? I can't remember the last trial for a mass shooting. Help me out here.

169 33 I'm sad. I was excited to make a scale model of the solar system in augmented reality, but then learned I'd need like 7 square miles to plot out all the orbits (this is with earth being the size of a marble). It can't be done without fudging the scale. "

There's a 10m wx radome at the local airport, just off the highway. Two miles down the road is a stop sign. When stopped at that sign, and looking at that radome I figure my coffee cup is approximately (earth/sun) in scale to diameter and distance to that radome.
