Excavating for a mine
Dwelt a miner, forty-niner
And his daughter Clementine...

Drove she ducklings to the water
Ev'ry morning just at nine
Hit her foot against a splinter
Fell into the foaming brine....

40 "Kill" means creek in Dutch. Some years ago PETA hilariously tried to get someone to change the name of Fishkill because killing fish is bad.

Or Catskill. One of those.

Knickerbocker is Dutch. Catskill is Dutch. New Amsterdam is Ductch.

People underestimate how narrowly we escaped the Dutch Menace.

She represents all the other illegal alien kids who haven't been separated from their illegal alien parents by U.S. law enforcement? Good to know.

The girl's father, who stayed in Honduras and wasn't happy about the girl's mother risking the kid's life by travelling through Central America and Mexico in order to get to the U.S., said that the mother wanted a job in the U.S. But the mother has now applied for asylum in the U.S., which pays a lot more benefits than a job.

But we should all be outraged at Trump, and not at the mother who knowingly put her daughter at risk of being kidnapped, raped, sex-trafficked, murdered, etc., all in the pursuit of money.

208 with Obama the stand down policy was rampant, in the FBI and in Benghazi, when dealing with our enemies (but those were the left's friends)
So it was with "give them room to riot" and many stand down orders at Berkeley or Seattle as antifa broke things. Also in Ferguson and Baltimore ... where BLM and others were allowed to break and burn things, as some sort of cathartic outlet for the white man's injustice (or some such BS)

But this should end with Trump, and "disturbing the peace" or blocking traffic or trespassing charges should be pressed against these rioters that want our border laws broken. But the leftist haters feel quite comfortable in the confines of leftist run localities.

327 Remittances to Mexico every year are in the billions. Just a 1% tax would pay for the wall in one year. That's lower than transaction fees the banks charge. Also, lowering aid to nations that flood us with refugees is a good step (Trump announced this recently) to save money, which could then be shifted to pay for construction. The wall is seriously not very expensive (especially in the big scheme of things).

Mexico could stop much of this shit if they just enforced their own laws and stopped the "migrants" at their southern border, which they could certainly do if they wanted to. But they enjoy sticking it to us, so they don't.

Trump needs to make it very clear to the Mexicans that we won't tolerate this any longer. Obama isn't president anymore, and we're not going to play this game with them.

Since the Mexican economy is basically dependent on the U.S., we have the power to bring them to heel. We just need to use it.

Yeah. Maybe Time should have vetted the story behind the picture better.

The girl was never separated from her mother. The original picture is her standing among a crowd of Border Patrol agents AND HER MOTHER as the mother is being searched.

Of note:
1) she was never separated from her mother during or after the stop by Border Patrol
2) her father was unaware that the mom was planning to make this trip until they disappeared earlier this month. The first evidence he's seen that his family's still alive since they left have been, well, these...
3) he does not condone the trip, and says the trip is purely financial in motivation - looking for a better job. Not persecution or violence related at all. He cautioned his wife to not make it when she first floated the idea. Direct quote from dad, "It was her decision." So even HE is holding the parents of the children accountable for the sudden-crisis.

379 Yes, the Mexican government has been allowing these "migrants" from Central America safe passage across Mexico, so long as they leave and go into the U.S.

Mexico has been encouraging an invasion of our country for decades, now. First, mostly by their own little soldiers but then they expanded to using all of Central America (and anyone else who could fly or steam into Mexico) to enhance the invasion. THis has been, and remains, nothing less than an Act of War and it is long past time that it is treated as it is.

Since the Mexican economy is basically dependent on the U.S., we have the power to bring them to heel. We just need to use it.

Posted by: TrivialPursuer at June 22, 2018 11:11 AM (fqUgw)

Yep. Mexico is one of the luckiest countries on Earth - blessed with its own plethora of natural resources, easy access to two oceans, and, as you point out, abutting the most dynamic, richest most vibrant economy the world has ever seen. But, instead of taking advantage of any of these gifts Mexico has chosen to waste its own resources and attack the US at every opportunity. The other nation that borders the US (with a shitty climate and a population about the size of a mega-city) has become one of the richest nations on Earth, but Mexico is happy to roll around in its own shit and just poke its fingers in our eyes whenever possible. Of course, this is no surprise. This is how pretty much all of Central and South AMerica operate.

that was supposedly the Bush Doctrine ... spreading "democracy" ... but first we go to war there, then "win hearts and minds".

We do spread some modernity and a little democracy, but mostly "they" have (evil has) infiltrated our government with help from grifters like Hillary and globalists like Soros.

Globalists want well controlled consumers that are mostly in debt, with the global cabal running the currency and the markets and the black market trafficking. Sovereign people that want to retain local control are a problem for them, so they break us apart at every turn.
