The Morning Report 6/8/18

wolfetrapped.jpg

Good morning kids. The weekend is here and the breaking story this morning is that there are rumblings from our Sleeper AG Jeff Sessionszzzz's office. Way back when, he warned leakers would be found and punished and evidently he has delivered; the Senate Intelligence Committee's longtime head of security James Wolfe is going to be charged with making false statements to the FBI and passing classified information about Carter Page to the media. More than that, it turns out he was passing more than secrets: he was schtupping NY Times reporter Ali Watkins. May he be suffer the same fate as Flynn, Manafort and the other guy who had to go the Go Fund Me route to stave off financial ruin (forgot his name) pour encourager les autres. Yes, it's a good and welcome first step but it's long overdue. That said, considering that Brennan, Clapper and Comey along with their underlings absolutely abused their positions to use the intel and LE communities to spy on a Presidential candidate with the intent of sabotaging his campaign and then attempting to overthrow him once elected - and still they persist - it's a drop in the ocean.

And then there is the frankly treasonous behavior of the previous President and Secretary of State. With the former it's the attempt to do an end run around Congress to help a terrorist nation flout sanctions, and with the latter to cover up her passing of state secrets to a foreign, hostile power in exchange for cash. And those are just two among perhaps dozens of extremely destructive crimes and acts committed by them over the years and decades. Since the only avenue to pursue justice is thoroughly and utterly corrupted, I don't see it happening. Not to them anyway. Yeah, maybe someone like a McCabe or Strzok or even a Comey might go down, but they'll be sent to Club Fed with a slap on the wrist and emerge with a suspended sentence, a book deal and a commentator slot in the Media. I'm a tad jaded, I guess. I'll circle back to this later but for now, let us continue.

Amnesty is yet again rearing its ugly head as Paul Ryno and the RINOs are hell bent on screwing over the will of the people so that the CoCs, Kochs and Cucks can have their cheap labor. On the plus side, it looks like that discharge petition is going to come up a few votes short but on the down side, some turd named Marc Short is scheming with Ryno et al to cook something up and ram it through. How the hell is a NeverTrumper like that still in the Administration, and in a position to sabotage one of PDT's major policy promises/initiatives? Somebody step on that crumb. And as the link says, PDT needs to use his veto power and make the GOP-e/CoC own it.

In related political news, it seems that despite the GOP-e's attempts to lose, they can't seem to catch up with the Dems in terms of pre-midterm self immolation. Keith "X" Ellison has had enough with the Clinton wing of the party and has ditched his flunky job as #2 at the DNC to run for Minnesota AG. To me this is just another indicator of the internecine split between the Trotskyites and Khmer Rouge factions of that party. Meanwhile, Howard Schultz openly bemoaning the aforementioned will kill any shot he might have had at the nomination, Moonbeam is hell bent on imposing water rationing on California despite an end to that state's drought emergency, which could boost that state's moribund GOP's chances and Nancy Palsi is downplaying the incredible employment news that is plain for all to see. Yup, keep f***ing that chicken, Dems. All the way to November and beyond. I hope they hire Samantha Pee to hit the campaign trail.

On the first amendment/media front, Joy Reid is a piece of work, the reporters at the NY Times are really living up to that paper's mission statement on integrity, some more positive analysis of the Masterpiece Cake Shop decision as well as that of Tommy Robinson in the UK.

On to foreign policy. PDT yesterday hinted at a possible invite to Mar-a-Lago for Whoa, Fat! and perhaps the White House if he behaves during the summit, French Prexy Macron is threatening to exclude the US from the G7 if we persist in "isolationism" or something (this is in small part to flexing our tariff muscles and in large part them freaking out over Iran sanctions that put the bite on their business), the US has issued a strong condemnation for the crackdown on protesters in the failed Commie shithole of Nicaragua and Iran expert Michael Ledeen touts regime change for Iran, presumably echoing the sentiments of Nat Sec Advisor John Bolton and others in the administration. And thankfully, it looks like Congress is going to move to block the sale of F-35 fighter jets to that other Islamocracy Turkey

Speaking of scum, traitors and commies, remember that USMA cadet Spenser Rapone who loved him some Antifa/Communism? He was given a less than honorable discharge from the Army. He should've been discharged from the barrel of a Long Tom.

On the domestic policy scene, although Obamacare in some form is still with us, the administration is putting a legal My Pillow over its maw by intentionally not defending what's left of some of its still extant key provisions in court. The warning bells continue to ring about Medicare and SSI insolvency and the Senate finally approved Kenneth Marcus to head the Ed Departments Civil Rights Office. Aside from the fact that this took months, every Dem voted against him while SCOAMF's nominees were confirmed within weeks by voice vote, why does the Department of Education need a Civil Rights Office. Meh, why does America need a Department of Education in the first place?

From hither and yon, the geniuses at ABC are going to bring back "Roseanne"... minus Roseanne, a link from the Federalist about moral equivalency, Egypt's own version of Baghdad Bob is mortadel, and finally a two part essay from PJ Media's David Solway on a subject that comes up here in one way or another almost every day: the dissolution of the Republic and the potential for a hot civil war. On that cheerful note...

Anyway, links from around the world, across the nation and up your street. Have a better one and remain blessed.

16 A shame about Bourdain, I was just about always entertained by his shows. And although he was a lib, at times he would say some things that indicated that he actually thought a little more deeply than most libs did.

I wonder if he woke a couple days ago, realized for the first time that Trump really *Was* right, and just could not face the world after that. I suspect that's what most libs today would do if they ever had one single moment of clarity.

32 French Pres Macron's comments about the G-7 were pretty comical yesterday. He and the rest of the Euro's are annoyed at Trump telling them to go stuff themselves, he's gonna do whatever he thinks is best for America, so Macron huffed and puffed and said "Well the G-7 might just become the G-6!!!!" (G7 is the group of the 7 most advanced free market economies today)

Obviously Macron is too proud (duh, he's French) to realize that the G-7 consists of 6 midgets, who are broke, hanging onto 1 giant who has all the money and all of the power. Now the broke midgets are mad because the Giant isn't listening to what they're trying to tell him to do, and so they're saying "Well we'll just go on without him! We don't need that stupid giant, and we don't need his money either!!!"

And they actually think the Giant will be all upset about not having to carry their sorry asses around anymore. Or pay for all of their idiotic, self destructive ideas.

81 There are at least 26 other leak investigations, underway and I hope Sessions used the same sharp techniques (reporters records) to get them. That being said, I hope they didn't give her the full (James) Rosen on them--that was out of bounds.

Leaking is a crime and leakers should be charged.

I'm willing to give the reporters a break on it, but their records are fair game if a felony has been committed, and the leakers should be prosecuted.

Whistle-blowing is a different matter and there's a process for that.

26 more to come, get your popcorn ready.

So what? Let them buy as many F-35s as they want. Lockheed Martin unions and pensions need the money from the sale, and the F-35s aren't going to harm anyone stranded in service bays or the outer frontiers of the tarmac.

The F-35 is all about funding former military officials now highly compensated sinecure employees, and backstopping the underfunded pensions.

Nothing about actual combat or air superiority.

140 re: the 2 "civil war' links. Interesting thoughts, but we should remember - we don't have a population capable of an actual "civil war" anymore, we have lost all of the toughness and resilience that our ancestors in 1861 had. Any 5 of those guys, on either side, could have walked down the worst street in Chicago today, at midnight, and had it all cleaned up by sunrise. Not saying that they liked to see big piles of bodies, but it didn't stop them from doing what they thought needed to be done, either.

Today, some on the right could stomach the fight (not as many as think they could) but the left would only be in it until they shrieked "OWIE! I HURT MY FINGER!!!" and then they would be done. There will be no "civil war".

--

An apt description of the reincarnation of Darlene. I'll admit that the old Roseanne show (well, the first several seasons) were funny as all get out. They can still make me laugh. However, this new Roseanne show has/had none of the creative humor it used to have. And Sara Gilbert...who used to play her role to perfection...has become whiny, morose and unbearable in this remake. Becky transformed into a flaky, tattoo-covered, hyperactive freak. Dan's role is basically to just hang out with the wallpaper, while Jackie transformed into some maniacal militant. If the show comes back without Roseanne, it will only hang on as did "Girls" and other assorted sh*tty shows with no real audience that the tv execs keep afloat because reasons. Just my opinion.

147 I had a like/hate relationship with Bourdain.

Enjoyed watching him find good eats, couldn'y stand his pontificating about what food "meant". Too much drinking, crappy politics.

But for a couple of hours of riveting TV watch the episode(s) where he is in Lebanon (I believe) and Hamaas goes apeshit on Israel and things in the country are going sideways, maybe 20 years ago. Real life drama for sure.

Him and his whole crew had to hide in hotels and carefully make their way down the beach to escape. On the roofs with sat phones, acting as spotters for Hamas vehicles and relaying potential escape routes to others in his crew. Cameras rolling at all times.

You may even shed a tear when they reach they beach and there are the marines and amphibious vehicles there to evacuate Americans to waiting ships in the Mediterranean.

He knew that when he saw Marines he was safe. Big shit on a tv food show kissing the ass of some 18yo Marine was a sight to see.

Riveting.

On Tuesday, customers of the coffee giant [Starbucks] saw the price of a 12-ounce cup of java jump from $1.95 to $2.15, while some locations raised coffee prices by ten cents.

"This price adjustment was not related to last week's store closures and trainings," a spokesperson for Starbucks claimed.

Of course not! It's related to the costs related to becoming a chain of homeless shelters. Someone's got to pay to keep those bathrooms clean, amitight?

170 Justin Trudeau, aka Shiny Pony, aka Little Potato (ask a Mandarin speaker on that one) has much bigger headaches than Trump and the tariffs. First, he's totally alienated Western Canada with his pipeline bungling. Then just last night, in another stellar performance by the pollsters (not) who thought the election to be "close", Doug Ford and the Conservatives won a massive majority government in Ontario, with the Liberals virtually wiped out, even in the Greater Toronto Area. The Liberals didn't even get official party status. Ontarians are sick to death of the high taxes and high Hydro rates (that's Canuck for electricity).

And for those wondering, yes, Doug Ford is the brother of the late great Rob Ford, minus the drug use.

175 "...we don't have a population capable of an actual "civil war" anymore..."

I always have wondered how the wealthy Plantation Owners managed to talk in poor dirt farmers into fighting a War allegedly to preserve slavery for the exclusive benefit of wealthy Plantation Owners.

One reason I was told was that these dirt farmers would fight so that their property wouldn't be taken, nor their women raped.

With confiscatory property taxes, eminent domain abuse, HOAs, etc. and women who openly rally for more Muslim immigrants, that reason doesn't exist.

I see many of my neighbors with campaign signs for the Democrat/Marxist party. Fighting a civil war just so the survivors can vote in the same sort of Reprobates we are trying to remove seems like a futile gesture.

A simple test I apply to others is to quote passages from the Declaration of Independence
and gauge the reaction. I weep for this generation. Not worth saving from their own depraved and narcissistic selves.

188 Hard to say. The Left has MS-13, the Bloods, the Crips, the Latin Kings, and various other gangs of thugs on their team (if only by default)..."

They're violent, but they're not organized, just low level local terrorist groups. Being a student of history, I have noticed what happens in *real* wars, with *real* militarizes, and it is too harsh for our modern sensibilities to face - and yet our ancestors did it as a matter of course, without shrinking from what needed to be done.

For a recent example, in our own civil war, take the method Phil Sheridan used to pacify the Shenandoah Valley in northern Virginia, a constant trouble spot for the north until Sheridan was tasked with cleaning it up. He moved in his army, did summary executions of every civilian he thought could be a threat, burned down every farm and every town, and moved all of the civilian survivors into concentration camps til the end of the war, where many died of starvation and disease. You look in every civil war in history, that's what happens when one side finally gets pissed off enough that they decide they're not going to play games anymore.

Phil Sheridan was not condemned for this; rather by 1883 he was named Commanding General of the US Army, a post he held until his death in 1888.

He was a real bastard, but those are the kinds of bastards who win civil wars. Go back a couple centuries, and you'll find Cromwell doing much the same thing, if not worse.

I think it's a good thing if they give out the suicide hotline number. I do tend to think that when high profile people (Kate Spade) commit suicide) copycat suicides happen.

Actually, it doesn't only happen with high profile people; It happens with depressed teens -not that they're watching the program. I have a friend-a retired pastor- who had to deal with the suicide of one of his youth group members. The crisis person said "They need to know the reality of this." Some other girl came to the funeral home and said, "I just wanted to see what happened" The pastor grabbed her hand hand, and put it on the cold dead hand of the suicide victim and said "This is what it's like; She's cold, she's dead and life is destroyed for any number of people including her." Apparently it knocked some sense into the teen, because she told my friend later that that shook her up and she decided not to take her life.-which she had been planning on doing that evening. So yeah, if giving out a suicide helpline number can help anyone it's good thing, IMO

How would you characterize Stonewall Jackson?

I know that this is heresy among many Southerners (who I am one), but Lee was an absolutely terrible General. He looked at the war like a chess game and couldn't bring himself to raise the black flag.

I had the pleasure of reading "Churchill's Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare" and one of the many take-aways was the complete disconnect by the generals that WW2 was played for keeps. They didn't seem to want to win anything material, but would rather virtue signal their honor in letting the enemy engage in genocide without meaningful reprisal.

Sort of like the Cuck-servatives of today.

DOJ only had to look at the communications of the reporter who broke the story (and Wolfe's heart) and they had all they need.

I hope they did the same thing regarding all the other leaks.

In the old days leakers would meet with manila envelopes with photocopies. Now it's emails, "Hey Sugar, check out the classified docs in the attachments, and thanks for the blowjob."

Maybe they'll smarten up after this, but it will be too late for at least 27 a-holes. Hopefully Schiff, Powers, Brennen and Clapper are among them.

Maybe they are, maybe they aren't, but they are definitely shitting their pants over this new DOJ technique.

261 How would you characterize Stonewall Jackson?"

I suspect that if he was alive today, Stonewall Jackson would be placed somewhere on the Aspberger's spectrum, as would US Grant. (Grant was close to being flat out autistic)

Jackson was a very odd and rigid man, and also incredibly brilliant, and a truly original thinker. He knew how to get inside the heads of his opponents, which is a trick that only the great generals can pull off. Since he could see what his opponents expected him to do, he was always able to do something completely different, and he regularly won his battles with far less men than there were opposing him.

He was a very devout man, read his bible every day, prayed for protection from his enemies constantly. Was never harmed by his enemies, and instead was cut down by a mistaken shot from one of his own men in the twilight, while he was lost in thought.

322 240 Now that's how you do it.

Trump is going to ask all the anthem protesters to give him names of people that they claim were unfairly treated by the legal system for pardon consideration.

Put up or stand up.
_____________

LOL. That's actually a brilliant move on Trump's part. I saw a photo of a kneeling football player the other day, holding a sign saying that something like 60% of U.S. inmates are black.

Think he ever stopped to wonder why so many blacks are incarcerated in the U.S.? Here's a hint: it's not because judges and juries are raaaaaaaacist. It's because blacks commit far more crimes, and far more violent crimes, in the U.S. than whites or Asians.

And to understand why so many blacks are so prone to criminality, you have to look at the black culture -- the culture which celebrates criminals, demeans and degrades women, dismisses fathers, disparages education, and treats the acquisition of material possessions like cash and "bling" and the latest trendy Nike athletic shoe brand, as the highest attainable goals in life.

But it's so much easier, and takes far less time and effort, to just scream "raaaaaaaacism" than to acknowledge and try to address the real problems.

So yeah, NFL protesters, go and make your list of unjustly incarcerated blacks so you can give it to Trump. Just don't be surprised if your list is a lot shorter than you were expecting it to be. Because most of those black inmates are in prison for damn good reasons, reasons which have nothing to do with raaaaaacism.

323 "the other guy who had to go the Go Fund Me route to stave off financial ruin (forgot his name) "

Michael Caputo....speakin' of which, got this from him this morning.

Dear Friend:

I'm pleased to inform you that many, many Caputo Legal Fund donors found it in their hearts to donate also to Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn's legal defense fund. Many of you emailed me asking for more information on other Trump associates destroyed by the Russia investigations.

So for now, I'll send a weekly email sharing online fundraising links for the President's supporters being destroyed by legal fees as they defend against this witch hunt.

This week, you've seen more bad news about Paul Manafort, the former chairman of the Trump campaign. Now Mueller investigators are predictably trying to imprison him while he awaits trial on charges designed to force him to turn over information on President Donald Trump. They've done this to innocent men before. I've known Paul for 30 years; he's a good man. He would never collude with Russia. He wouldn't suborn perjury. He would never hurt the President.

Paul certainly had a successful career, but the Special Counsel investigation has laid his family low. His savings are locked down by investigators and he's confined to his home, so he cannot work. As a result, he simply cannot pay his legal bills, which will soon be more than a million dollars. I encourage you to visit https://manafortdefense.org for more information.

I believe key investigators respond to Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton insiders. I believe Gen. Flynn was targeted for destruction by a vengeful Obama national security team. Similarly, I believe Paul has been the Clinton cronies' favorite target because he helped President Trump win the GOP nomination and go on to defeat their queen.

This out-of-control investigation must end. Soon, we expect to see the results of the Department of Justice Inspector General investigation into the FBI. I hope that report will expose more about this assault on our President. Thank you again for your support - I'll update you again soon!

Sincerely,
Michael Caputo

393 58 I think the French & Germans are proving why we need a tariff war with them. They don't want fair and free trade but want piggyback on American success while at the same time undermine us internationally. Basically they want to boss us around, and still want to dominate Europe.

The fact that the Chinese of all countries are being more reasonable in trade negotiations, then the Neo-Carolingian Empire says a lot. China is actually a potential enemy, yet our two "allies" don't even want to negotiate, but instead it is just demands and orders.

As for Canada...that is funny. I suspect we spend more American tax money defending Canada then the Canadians do.
Posted by: William Eaton

You find it funny, yet you only 'suspect' what is spent by each on Canada.

Re costs of Defense, there were more Canadian casualties per-capita on D-Day than US, and Canada (and Newfoundland in particular as it was it's own country in WW2) provided a lot of bases for US forces when you needed them so I would rather leave that type of stuff out of trade discussions.

Your best argument would be the fact that the U.S. (and less belatedly Canada) jumped in with lives and treasure to save Europe twice.

For better or worse, we've got Prime Minister Barack Trudeau negotiating for us, but he's right that it is a slap in the face from Trump (who I have and continue to completely support) to use the national security loophole as an excuse to do this. He's better than that, and it hurts his otherwise justified position.

As a Canadian I support Trump's attitude regarding farm products. We have a Marketing Board set-up with production quotas and price fixing for all sorts of stuff (Egg Marketing Board, Milk Marketing Board, etc.) to protect inefficient industries.

As a result, people can't afford milk and eggs etc., (so poor kids don't get what they should) so I for would like to see $1.50 or$ 2/gallon milk. If it comes from the US, so be it.

The Canadian producers have been protected and never had to become efficient, and the board-imposed production limits prevented them from becoming efficient.

I would support throwing it open after three years of adjustment.

If poor Canadians can afford to eat better, I'm all for it.

Go Trump--Making Canada Great Again.

Go Bruins.

A couple of points about the crisis headlines of suicide rates going up 30% over the period 1999 to 2016. Before it fades into the background.

If you drill down into the CDC data a little more you can see:

1. 1999 was a nadir in national suicide rates, down from around 15/100,000 rate in 1980 to somewhere around 11 or 12 per 100,000 in 1999. So being back up to 15 to 16 per 100,000 now could just as easily represent random variation as it could a "crisis" trend.

2. Using a historical low point or high point in order to magnify the perceived trend is a common statistical manipulation technique.

2. National reporting and data collection has shifted from a non-internet based reporting system prior to 2000 to a web-based system now. Different methodologies, changing definitions or inclusion criteria, etc.

You HAVE to consider who is doing the reporting and why, when it comes to numbers like these.

Can any of the hirsute morons of the manly variety recommend a new shaving club or brand that offers a good product at a great price and doesn't send my dollars to groups I am diametrically opposed to?
