Chris Matthews Rips Democrats as "A Party of Attitude and Elitism"

Well, yeah.

He made these comments on Morning Joe, aka Cuck Parade.

By Douglas Ernst -- The Washington Times -- Tuesday, June 5, 2018

...

"There are real liberals, and there are phonies," Mr. Matthews said. "They're pie in the sky. They're always looking to the middle distance. They think they're better than everybody. They went to Yale Law, whatever. Whatever they got, they claim they're better than everybody. A true democrat, lower case 'd,' thinks they’re no better than anybody else. That's what a Democrat is."

Well, at least we know Tom Nichols isn't a true Democrat.

...

"There is so much elitism in the Democrat party. It's outrageous," he said. "And it all comes down to the notion of the meritocracy being academic based... It's all academic and it's a game they’ve been playing with themselves-- and it's self-saluting. I'm telling you: The people feel it. There’s a party going on and they ain’t invited to it. … There’s too much self-saluting. Too many events that seem to be about saluting them. Too many galas. People are tired of it. I'm sick of them."

"And by the way, I'm rooting against them," he added. 'Even though I may agree with their policies, I think there’s a party attitude of elitism and I think they got to get over it."

Because it was deliberate; after Obama, the Democratic Party was convinced they didn't need or want middle class whites any longer. It was intentional to just blow them off, even insult them, and hunt the fringes of America, minorities, and single women.

39 Influential people with vested financial interests in the process have sold a narrative that global manufacturing, global sourcing, and global production was the inherent way of the future. The same voices claimed the American economy was consigned to become a "service-driven economy."

What was always missed in these discussions is that advocates selling this global-economy message have a vested financial and ideological interest in convincing the information consumer it is all just a natural outcome of economic progress.

It's not.

If you somehow found a way to defeat the media, Democrats would never win another election.

65 Could it be that blunt honesty *works* for many of us out here?

Yeah, here's the thing. Most of the time when Trump lies, he's not lying to fool people or to sell something. He's lying as he boasts or claims things. In other words, he's not trying to fool people or rip them off, he's not trying to sneak anything past you. He's just boasting. Overspeaking and exaggerating is a lie, its just not a hurtful lie to anyone but yourself.

By comparison, say Hillary's lies are just... lies. They're not exaggerations, they are inventions and the worst sort of crafty inventions meant to hurt or sneak past you. That's what you usually get from politicians.

There's a certain honesty in bragging bullcrap. People know its bullcrap right up front, and laugh. If you claim you caught a trout long as your boat, people know its a fish story about a fairly large trout, they don't feel like you're trying to pull a fast one. If you claim you dodged rifle fire from invading Nazis wearing Trump hats, then they are less amused by your BS.

74 Not to get too politically incorrect here, but whites are largely done with the Democrat Party. The constant race baiting of Democrats has finally made white voters understand that they can't stick around and be a punching bag.

Normally, that would make the Democrats the next Whig Party, but so many immigrants have flooded into the US over the last 30 years that they might do just fine abandoning white voters.

If we had the same electorate demographic we had when Reagan was President, Republicans would own every branch of government. It would be like Democrats after the Great Depression.

See Doug Schoen's latest column speaking of the far, far left of his party. The far, far left might be socialists, but they cover themselves in self-righteousness in tone and pointing fingers.
Again, Matthews and Nichols are covering themselves so when the votes are counted in Nov and the D's fail to take the House, those two can point to today. But where the fuck they been the last 8 years?

87 73 So, the Democrat party's embrace of communism, totalitarianism, terrorism, sowing of hatred among every every possible line, and general insanity is okay. But, elitism is what annoys Matthews about the Democrat party. I think Ace's "go fuck yourself in the heart with a knife" is appropriate here.

Chris Matthews certainly deserves to be told that often. However, here he actually has a point.

The Demunist Commiecrat party "nomenklatura" elite does intend to rule over us as Our Betters. That's the "why" of their elitism.

Their "embrace of communism, totalitarianism, terrorism, sowing of hatred among every every possible line," is the "how" of their elitism.

For the mid-terms, of that list, I think the MS-13 support and the smearing of all things Trump are the most damaging to the Democrats. The others have been in the public eye for a bit, so the anger isn't at its peak now; but the rest? Yeah, blood-boiling. People understand "fair" in their guts. Can you see your TV's MAC address on the DHCP page of your router?

Can you make a hard-wire connection from your router to your TV?

The question is where the problem is arising, at the router, or at the TV, and if the latter, is it the wireless connection or ALL connections.

And that the boss initially caved to this bozo and said the wording should be changed, but I refused to back down and said I would quit if the boss changed my words?

Well you all may have wondered what became of the situation.

Annnnnnd...just this afternoon, the SJW idiot ginned up a completely unrelated outrage about some other purportedly "racist" thing at work (the music writer covering too many "white" bands), and just now QUIT in a huff!

If unplugging it for 10 seconds or so and then plugging it back in doesn't fix it, I'd look at the TV manual to find the network setup steps and follow them. The TV network settings might have been borked somehow.

Posted by: Tami at June 05, 2018 07:11 PM (Enq6K)

Now that's odd. To see the MAC address the router must be communicating with the TV, but it's not assigning an IP address.

I think Yudhishthira's advice to check the network settings on the TV is a good idea.

(Just another thought: you haven't used up all the DHCP addresses on your router, by any chance, have you? Usually there are so many that it's not a problem, but if you have allocated say, only 10 IP addresses to the DHCP server, and your TV is the eleventh prospective client, maybe that would explain your puzzling observation.)

Oh yeah, I saw that back in 2012. Before the Florida primary, Newt Gingrich gave a speech about space policy. We can disagree about his specific ideas, but he is a space geek who is knowledgeable and animated about the topic.

A few days later, Romney gave a speech about space policy, which largely consisted of getting "top men" to work on a policy and finished with a tear-jerking story about a Boy Scout troop flying an American flag aboard the ill-fated Challenger. Which has precisely fuck-all to do with present-day space policy.

I was spitting nails when I saw that. It was the worst sort of pandering. It was obvious that he had zero interest or knowledge about the subject.

Go to your router's webpage, and there will be tab labelled "DHCP." Click on it, and you should see a list of all the wireless devices connected to the router.

You probably won't find your TV's MAC address on that list, but it doesn't hurt to check even things that you think you know you'll see.

I used to tell my students that whenever you're faced with a conundrum (e.g., one experiment indicates A > B, another experiment indicates the opposite) you've invariably made an implicit assumption that turns out to be unwarranted, so check everything, even things that seem silly at the time. Because if the apparently silly thing is the problem, and you don't check it, you can be there for a LONG time before you figure out what happened.

Start + R opens a run window

then look for a line that says "Default gateway"
That's the ip address of your router
Enter that ip address into a web browser (chrome, firefox, edge)
default username is admin
default password is password
old default password is 1234

from there you have to navigate to a page like "connected devices" or something. See your netgear router's documentation for details.

Sure, but that isn't necessarily dispositive. Suppose all of the DHCP addresses are already assigned? (Not likely, granted.) Then the TV might be left out in the cold.

Alternatively, the router settings might inadvertently have been altered to block that MAC address. No idea how, but you never know. (I've actually had problems like that; how did that get changed? Hmmm.)

311 Tami, I have a Netgear router too. When you navigate to your router's webpage, go to "attached devices" and look there. Then also see whether "access control" is turned on. If so, check that the "block all new devices from connecting" option is not checked.

314 So, I read the link, Matthews is making a slam against both Obamas, Clintons and same. The fundraisers and galas are obviously a nod to celebrities.

Chris is old enough to remember the old school Dem party, where blue collar workers and Ivy College elites rubbed shoulders and had mutual respect.

That's gone. Now it is us and them. Same in Republican party too I think. But not as stark, bcz GOP doesn't hobnob with celebs since they are not liked by them.

We all have people who are better than us. There are, however, people who believe they are better than anybody else at anything. I give you both Obamas, and both Clintons. Plus, whoever orbits their circle and operates at that same level.

I have to believe these people were the ones Chris was referencing. The cabal with Eric Holder too. I think Obama still has the Imperial thing going on.

Anyway, Chris bounces around, may change his mind tomorrow. But it is good to see anything sane like this; any hope is appreciated.

321 Is it possible the antennae of the router got bumped? Since you're only 25 ft. away, albeit around a corner, you should have buckets of signal, but ...

Also are there any metallic objects between the router's antennae and your TV? I actually use aluminum foil-covered cardboard to bounce the microwaves toward the rest of the house (the router is at one end of the house, and there's no point in irradiating our neighbors). One time I bumped the foil reflector slightly and lost connectivity on a device. Moving the reflector back again restored connectivity in a heartbeat.

What's really annoying is that this problem also stops us accessing our myth app, and programmes stored on our Myth PC on our own network, as well as not giving us access via the internet to Netflix etc.

We've had this problem a few times before, and it's always been the Samsung servers, which they eventually do something about and the Service comes back up, but it's pretty poor that this problem occurs regularly."

In extremis, you might try changing the DNS entries and then power cycling everything. I'm not clear on how sticky DNS entries are. For some things changes only take effect on next start up.
