Shock: David French Writes in the New York Times to Attack "Conservatives"

Note he doesn't say "fellow conservatives." He just says "conservatives."

As I've said forever: Paycheck Conservatives will increasingly make themselves non-Deplorable for liberal outlets. Paycheck Conservatives are all about the paycheck, and as opportunities to scam the right's donor base's goodwill decline, opportunities to make money from the left trashing conservatives increase dramatically.

I don't even feel like addressing French's juvenile squeals. It's been addressed enough. But: NFL has longstanding rules against political messaging during NFL events; they enforced this rule against people who wanted to wear cleats with 9/11-remembrance paint on them and against the Dallas Cowboys for memorializing the Dallas cops killed by the Black Lives Matter ambush assassin.

But for this political expression -- the kneeling protests that have partly contributed to a 10% loss in NFL viewership -- they suspended the rule and ignored the rulebook concerning standing for the flag.

Apparently it's not "conservative" to demand that if a rule is enforced against conservatives, it should be enforced against liberals as well. Insisting on equal treatment is now an "unconservative" position, according to this ludicrous cuck.

I'm against a Caste system in America, with different Castes ranked and granted different rights and different obligations. What say you, Cuck? You okay with this?

Incidentally, David French had the opportunity to write a column about the thugs assaulting Tomi Lahren yesterday. He, get this, didn't. Instead he wrote a single tweet containing but two words: "Disgusting behavior."

And having done the obligatory minimum, he then went to frenzied work to get to his real passion, attacking conservatives.

Oh but if someone says something crosswise about members of his tribe -- if Bari Weiss catches some flack on Twitter, if Kevin Williamson gets canned at a liberal mag -- then French will have a great deal more to say than "Disgusting behavior."

These guys will ignore dozens of firings and pressure campaigns to get to the one incident that gets their heart beating quicker: A chance to scold conservatives and show liberals they're "one of the good ones."

His "principles" of free speech are the same that liberals hold: That members of his clique have free speech rights, and Deplorables don't.

One mlb guy, on the Oakland A's, did the kneeling thing. And he's not on their starting roster this season. MLB players are mainly white, Hispanic, Asian and middle-class blacks (because baseball is no longer played in the 'hood) I don't think they have the chips on their shoulders NFL players do.

Their problem is that there is a fundamental contradiction in their beliefs - one cannot be Pro-American and Pro-Globalist at the same time, unless you are willing to acknowledge that in any dispute, being Pro-American overrides any Globalist impulses. I think there is some virtue in being willing to criticize your own camp----when they're in the wrong.

However, I constantly see it occur without a clear reason that it's not just so somebody can point to it as an instance of it.

I'm trying to put my finger on it, but arguments like this seem to say that at least liberals are more consistent because they are perfectly comfortable with outside intervention where they don't like a corporate policy. While conservatives are FOR some corporate policies they couldn't influence more than their own personal influence and--AGAINST others where they don't bring any more pressure than what they can as a personal expression.

well my position was a lot more nuanced than that. My position was that the word "cuck" was itself not a racist term, BUT it had been adopted so hard by white nationalists that it had gotten the taint of that all over it, and so I wasn't comfortable using a word that tended to signal a sympathy with white nationalists.

What happened is that I was using the term myself with "Paolo" and then all of a sudden i got what felt like HUNDREDS of super-positive, you-go-girl tweets from people with twitter handles like "CelticTears69" and "88Panzerkorps88." Some with actual nazi flags in the header.

So I felt like the white nationalists had effectively taken the word.

but a year ago friends and I would say almost like a little kid curses -- with a little giggle -- and then over time it just became cuck cuck cuck cuck cuck cuck cuck.

Also, a lot of the youtubers I watch -- Diversity and Comics, Comics Artist Pro Secrets -- say "cuck" all the time, including variations like "cucked out."

And just a lot of people I know started saying it, so it didn't seem any more like it was 97% white nationalist saying it.

Maybe, but again, maybe not. Back when my husband was coaching Little League, they noticed fewer and fewer black kids participating. A couple of the black dads said that that's because black kids would tease the black kids who wanted to play baseball, saying that was a white boy's sport. Actually that theory does hold some water. The NBA worries about not having enough white players. It's why every NHL team now seems to have a designated black player on the team.

Even if they WANT to be Dems, there is no more room in the Dem party for straight, white man. Now, some will go to extremes to fit in, I'm sure Max Boot is taking dick sucking lessons from Andrew Sullivan on that score; but most won't. And since a third party isn't a real choice, they will have to choose between swallowing their pride and sucking up to Trump, or just giving up on it all and dropping out of public life completely. Kinda like Paul Ryan is about to do.

I get that. However, the USA Presidential / Congressional System means that the politician scammer class will have to choose which party gives them more of an advantage.

If we had the kind of Prime Minister election system that the rest of the Anglosphere has, they could go 3rd party and sustain it, just like the UK Liberal (Social Democratic) Party does.

So perhaps half will stay GOP, half will go Demunist, and the Intraparty Civil Wars will go on.

I am betting that when the Demunists implode, the Davy French and Billy Kristol types will try to take over the shambles of the Democrat Party and pick up the pieces.

Well, in the case of illegal immigration - the biggest issue of the 2016 election... that's kinda true. The GOP establishment is more than happy to let (mostly brown) foreigners into the country to have their way with the stuff that Americans created, to out-reproduce us, and eventually to take control of the country through the ballot box. The GOPe prefers this outcome to being called racist because they want to keep out foreigners who are mostly brown.

329 From a legal standpoint, this is absurdly simple. The First Amendment only proscribes government conduct. So a private employer has a perfect right to tell you that you cannot exercise your "free speech" rights while you are at work. Period. End of story, from a Free Speech standpoint.

The only thing that could conceivably prevent the NFL from taking the position it is taking would be if the Basic Agreement between the Players and the Owners limited the owners' ability to regulate the players' conduct. But that would be a matter of labor law or contract law and would have nothing to do with the constitution. And since the NFL Players Union has not been jumping up and down about this, I assume there is no such clause in the basic agreement.

It would surprise me very much if French is ignorant enough or stupid enough not to understand this. The only remaining possibility is that he is dishonest enough to conflate proscribed government conduct with permissible private conduct in order to take a jab at people he wants to take a jab at.
