A friend of mine deals with money for a large company. Anyone who is a manager at his level or above and has such responsibilities gets randomly audited from time to time. They send the manager home for a week where they can't talk with anyone at the company unless contacted by the auditor.
I think it's time a lot of Federal employees get sent home for a few weeks and they better not talk with anyone beyond the weather and how fast the grass is growing. Posted by: WOPR - Nationalist at May 22, 2018 08:22 PM (J70i0) 15

It's not even the money for me. Special counsels sound great, usually don't accomplish much. See Mueller. As Trump said months ago the DOJ is chock full of prosecutors. It's what they do, they prosecute people for a living. A special counsel is just another delay while they build a team, gather evidence and get up to speed. Hell, they even have to find an office. Leave Huber and his team on the DOJ/FBI and appoint other teams to go after the other agencies. Better focus on the crimes and it gives the media more squirrels to chase instead of one big target. Remember how the Republicans got slaughtered in 1974 and 1976 after Watergate? Our State Party ran so scared, they named themselves Independent Republicans trying to keep the Nixonian stench off themselves.
Of course the looney tune Democrats overreached badly, and the backlash was epic. By 1978, we ran the table and replaced the Governor and BOTH US Senators. Google Minnesota Massacre. I have a feeling that the GOP Establishment will fuck up just as badly. If they go for Amnesty and/or Gun Control, it will happen in six months. They can easily screw up 2018, and may actually do it. "A federal judge in California ordered a law firm linked to Stormy Daniels' attorney to pay $10 million on Tuesday to a lawyer who claimed that the firm had misstated its profits and that he was owed millions. The judgment came after Jason Frank, who used to work at Eagan Avenatti, alleged that that the law firm failed to pay a $4.85 million settlement he had reached in December. He said in court papers that the settlement was personally guaranteed by Michael Avenatti, who has garnered national attention as the attorney for Daniels, the porn actress who is suing President Donald Trump following an alleged 2006 affair." I was wondering at the story this afternoon, the Cohen's ex-business partner was going to plea and cooperate, was such a Big Exciting Deal to the leftists, and to Brian in N.O. (to be fair, I think Brian was more worried about it) I did 5 minutes net research, and it's really nothing at all - the guy was charged months ago, this is how he plead it out.
And it struck - Everyone on the Left believes, with a religious fervor, that there is SOME great crime that Trump had to have committed - they KNOW he is guilty as soon as they can get that mythical person who "knows" to spill the beans and confess. And Of Course Trump will have to resign, and Pence will quit in Shame, and Hillary Will Be President!!! They actually, seriously, believe that, and because of that it causes them to jump like cats on hit tin roofs to the wildest conclusions at even the tiniest sign of false hope - as they were doing today with this one. in actual fact, the partner was charged, months ago, with not reporting $50,000 worth of income from the taxi medallion biz he was in with Cohen. Well that's pretty dumb - you got a pile of income, you don't report it, you're likely to get caught. He did. And of course he'll "cooperate" in exchange for probation only, since he's got everything to gain and nothing to lose by it. But... if Cohen had been evading taxes, wouldn't he have been charged months ago, like this guy, his partner, was? Looks pretty obvious that they couldn't get him on that, or else they would have done it already. And also - if there was something illegal going on with the Taxi Medallions, wouldn't this partner have been charged with that when he was charged with evading taxes? But he wasn't, so it looks like they couldn't actually pin anything on him. So while they are all hooting and hollering that this guy is now going to COOPERATE!!!, what crime is he actually supposed to be able to pin on Cohen? Doesn't look like they got anything except another wink wink, nudge nudge story for the NYT. Posted by: Tom Servo at May 22, 2018 09:14 PM (V2Yro) 246

Attention MA morons:
The legislature is working overnight behind closed doors to birth another gun control abomination for tomorrow under the guise of ERPOS. Compared the version previously released publicly this one: 1. gets rid of requirement of proof needed for a judge to issue ERPO order 2. gets rid of appeal process 3. gets rid of state appointed attorney for person accused of being dangerous 4. has an even looser definition of who can file for an ERPO 5. models the 209A language WRT how seized firearms must be handled. (they can only be transferred to an FFL, bonded warehouse, etc.) "Section 131T. (a) Upon the filing of a petition pursuant to section 131R, the court may issue an emergency extreme risk protection order without notice to the respondent and prior to the hearing required pursuant to subsection (a) of section 131S if the court finds reasonable cause to conclude that the respondent poses a significant risk of causing bodily injury to self or others by being in possession of a license to carry firearms or a firearm identification card or having in his control, ownership or possession a firearm, rifle, shotgun, machine gun, weapon or ammunition." The bill also ignores SCotUS in Caetano V. Massachusetts. The bill classifies them as handguns, which creates a huge mess for a plethora of reasons. -Stun guns can't pass AG consumer regs -Stun guns aren't serialized So right back to a defacto ban and failing to acknowledge the entire issue of a homeless woman not being able to obtain a license to begin with under state law. Bill text is in my link. I'm thinking the timing of this Trumpian Counteroffensive is set to exactly wreak maximum damage, as a rolling June, July, August, September and October SURPRISE!
By time Trump is done with these bastards, that "Blue Wave" will just be their Ty Dee Bowl dyed blue-blood, swirling in the bowl and down the drain in the November Mid-Terms. At the end though, I want to enjoy a mid-range seat in the gilded Trump Coliseum, watching the Deep State Convicts, one by one, face their Trial by Ordeal. To be sure, each of 'em will have already been legitimately indicted, tried and convicted, all with due process in a Court of Law. But the punishment... Trial by Ordeal. Their one last possible chance to serve society, will be to die with bravery and honor. Likely though, the Lion will enjoy a soft pink snack, dying under claw and fang, screaming in bloody terror and begging till the last breath. Season Tickets. Sign me up. If you're in the area, Oregon as an astounding air museum:
https://www.evergreenmuseum.org/ It is also enormous. They have an old 747 as a roof ornament on the building. They have, among other things, the Spruce Goose inside (in the "WWII and before" building). I went there with a friend and once we were inside for a while I turned to him and said, "I thought you said they had the Spruce Goose here." He laughed out loud and replied, "You're standing under its wing." It is so big that it literally didn't even register in my consciousness. I was looking at other planes - things at reasonable scale - that were parked under its gigantic wingspan and it was rendered invisible to me. I have never watched the show, but I had just sort of assumed that "Naked and Afraid" featured couples already involved with each other. Yes, you're right, definitely big potential for infidelity.
Posted by: Retired Buckeye Cop is now an engineer at May 22, 2018 09:21 PM (5Yee7) We have watched a few episodes. The people do not know each other prior to meeting naked in some crazy locale somewhere. Contestants are selected based on their survivalist experience, there are a lot of military, forest ranger, etc. types who sign up for the show. Out of the episodes we have watched, a majority percentage of the pairs end up hating each other as days go on and both are miserable. I would say at least 50% of the episodes have at least one individual who either becomes deathly ill, which the producers(remember, these people are not alone, there are camera people, producers and medics following them around) then will force them to have medical attention if they don't ask for it, or they just quit because they can't take it anymore. These people get dropped of in remote jungles in which they are barefoot, completely naked, and have only been allowed to choose one thing to bring with them, which is typically a knife and some kind of small pouch. Thorns and other punctures in their feet lead to major infections which takes them out. They are normally eaten alive by insects. One of the biggest things they have to conquer is starting a fire after they choose where they will camp. Then keeping the thing going, usually with wet, vine like wood. They try to build shelters out of tree branches, palm fronds, etc. The fire helps at night to keep things like jaguars, etc. away from the camp. Snakes are either always around or they are tying to catch one to eat. Often someone eats something poisonous, or drink water with parasites etc. until they are vomiting their guts out or have projectile diarrhea. I agree it's stupid, but I have serious doubts that anyone engages in sex in front of camera guys, producers, monkeys , scorpions, while covered with dirt, mud, sweat, hundreds of mosquito bites, a mouth that hasn't been toothbrushed in two weeks. By three or four days in, they are extremely hungry as there is nothing to eat unless they find it or catch/kill it and at night , temps fall and they typically are shivering and freezing, particularly when it rains for days. Most of these fit people end up losing 15-20 pounds during the contest. Posted by: Jen the original at May 22, 2018 09:49 PM (AmB4K) 376

I think they put a finger on the scales of those reality shows by trying to get "interesting" personalities (read: drama queens who think they're god's gift to the world and don't get along with anybody)
For example, I know enough survival skills to stay alive in that situation - I suspect most do. What normal people know instinctively is that your survival chances go way up if you immediately form a very healthy partnership with the one who's stuck there with you. That means no fighting, no bitching, no acting stupid, and respecting what that person has to say - because that is how you are both gonna LIVE. but no, that'll probably make the show boring, so let's cast idiots who are at each other's throats. The R-4360's on the B-36 turned 3100 RPM at takeoff, the Prop turned 1900 via gear reduction. The R-4360's on the B-36 turned 3100 RPM at takeoff, the Prop turned 1900 via gear reduction. The props at idle were about 475 RPM. not anywhere close to speed of sound. the Gear Reduction was simply to create a massive amount of torque or BMEP (Brake Mean Effective Pressure) to turn a giant prop with a LOT of thrust. Posted by: weft cut-loop at May 22, 2018 10:22 PM (LNPd9) One of the most irritating things is the costs they quote on most of these shows. My favorite show was Fixer Upper, but most of the time, I had major eyerolls at Chips estimates. I found it amazing that these homes could be completely gutted, rooflines rebuilt into a different structure, complete new kitchens, baths, all new flooring, new siding, new windows, full landscaping , for $100,000. Most of these homes have complete makeovers on fireplaces, new porches, etc. I know things are maybe cheaper to do in Texas, but I just had a friend have an estimate done for a tiny 3/4 bathroom to be put into an spare room with only one wall change, and no outside reconfiguration at all and it came in at over $20,000.
