Invasion ONT

No, not the 1985 Chuck Norris flick.

Pomp and Circumcised

Remember, this is the culture that gave us the word Victorian as a synonym for “prudish”

The times, they are a changin'

HARRY and Meghan might be too worn out to romp after all the pomp of the wedding.
But that doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate their big day by raising the royal standard in the bedroom.

Corgi Style

CONSIDER this one a loyal four-legged friend when you’re after a fast and satisfying romp.

The photos are by David Cummings. Of course.

Related: A Harry Cleft? (Warning: Once seen, can't be unseen)

Does Prince Harry have a cleft chin? I don't know. All this fawning over a wedding is beyond me.

Thoughts on Gab

I know a lot of you have investigated Gab, and some of you have mentioned being repelled by seeing racist gabs. Remember, a lot of this is false flags. What do you think Soros spends all his money on? Oh, sure, he spends some on specific races each election, but he spends far more on this kind of stuff. This shit is coordinated. What do you think Media Matters or ShareBlue DOES? Liberal troll factories, pecking away day and night to shape the narrative and discredit the right. Do you think it's a coincidence that as soon as Twitter announced it's new shadowbanning regimen, thousands of dormant accounts on Gab were suddenly activated and began posting racist garbage? I don't. It's a strategy to drive off people who might be checking Gab out by reinforcing the narrative that Gab is a racist alt-right platform. I'm not saying there aren't racists on Gab. There certainly are. But here's Gab founder Andrew Torba explaining what's going on. Think twice before turning around and leaving at the first evil gab you see.

If you want to try Gab out, start with the Ace of Spades HQ group. Over 200 members strong. If you don't want to yack at us over here, gab at us over there.

How many of you have heard of Sketch's World? Sketch is a US military man who draws comics featuring caricatures of all 5 branches of the armed forces, and they're funny as hell. He can be found on Facebook or Twitter. He's branching out into merchandising, and I think he'll make a mint. His stuff makes fantastic gifts for anyone you know who served. 37 That invasion map reminds me of a story about a big breakout by some German POW's in Phoenix during WW2. The US army had stashed some officers in places that they figured were so far away from everything they couldn't be any trouble. They were right, in an almost comical way.

The German officers managed to get a high quality map, and noticed that about 50 miles south the map showed the Gila River, which flows to the Colorado river near Mexico. Their plan was to break out of the camp, head south to the Gila, make rafts, and float to where they could get into Mexico. Seemed like a Good plan, since the camp only had a few strands of barbed wire around it. (where could they go, they thought) So they broke out one night, made their way across the desert, got to the Gila - and found out that in Arizona, the rivers may look nice and blue on the map, but they're nothing but sand for 11 months out of the year. A couple guys held out for almost a month before they finally all got rounded up.

The barracks in Phoenix were still there when I was a kid - my dad would drive by and point them out to me. Kinda close to Papago Park, as I recall.

Probably ones of the biggest traffic drivers for twitter has to be blogs posting individual tweets. People go check the tweets out and maybe click some links and consume even more twitter.

So, why don't you do the same with gabs? Is it just not big enough yet, so it doesn't have the humorous memes going? Something else?

(where could they go, they thought) So they broke out one night, made their way across the desert, got to the Gila - and found out that in Arizona, the rivers may look nice and blue on the map, but they're nothing but sand for 11 months out of the year. A couple guys held out for almost a month before they finally all got rounded up.

The barracks in Phoenix were still there when I was a kid - my dad would drive by and point them out to me. Kinda close to Papago Park, as I recall.

"Their reality is that ... not human contact. This is serious," he continued. "We have to make young people 'land' in the real world. Touch reality. Without destroying the good things the virtual world can have," because some things are needed, he [Pope Francis] acknowledged.

119 Never put carrots or lima beans in your chili.

My mom used to do this. Because we were a big family and carrots were cheap. I never minded, because when she put carrots in, she did not put potatoes in, which was her other go-to chili filler. I love potato, but they are exactly the wrong consistency for chili.

Despite all the food choices we made so as to afford to eat (potatoes in chili, sliced hot dogs on pizza, etc.) we never sank so low as to have Kaboom! cereal. Much to be thankful for.

169 It's true, GAB has some people you aren't going to like. But at Twitter, conservatives or right wing people are game animals. They will block you or ban you because you don't rate, in their eyes. GAB isn't banning people; with that comes some rough parts.
They're going to call you a white supremacist or a Nazi no matter what. They're commies. They don't care if Nazis are also leftists. That's not the point. They hate anyone who opposes them, and the Nazis opposed them into camps back in the day.
So any opposition to commies, from polite disagreement to flying lead, makes you a Nazi in their eyes. They are at war, and have been since the Sixties. They are fanatics, and mean to end up on top--of you, with their hands on your throat. GAB offers the opportunity to talk without the humiliation of being booted off.

187 I was racially profiled once, in Chicago.
I like to catch the rays, and get tan.
Just got out of the shower, hair wet, slicked back.
Walked out my back gate w/ a big bag of trash when a big
Latino copper starts yelling at me, en espanol.
I answer:
"Lo siento, senor, mi espanol es muy pobre.
We both laughed, I told him gracias for watching my crib.
My Italian coloring/ tan started and fixed this.
Oh yeah, and dumb-ass high school Espanol.

Heh. That brings up a memory. I spent three months in 1982 working at a mine site in Costa Rica, and I had become slightly proficient in Spanish. Time to go home, I landed in Miami and handed my Canadian passport to the U.S. immigration officer, and he asked me some questions in Spanish, and I responded automatically in Spanish. And then he got a funny look on his face, and said, "Wait, you speak English, don't you?" And I said, "yeah, come to think of it, I do." And we both began laughing.

Well, more accurately, they can trace their ancestry back to mythical/ legendary figures who were said to have been descended from Odin.

I haven't looked at this family tree or anything, but apparently there's supposed to be a direct line from Siegfried to Prince Charles.

355 Asheville, true. In poker there's a ton of inside terms.
For instance, criticizing idiot players at the table: "knocking on the aquarium."

And it's become a complete non-secret that no one wants to give out their best advice, especially since online poker dried up and there's fewer places to play.

It bugs me because I still love the game, but a lot of poker rooms also seem to be going away or barely hanging on, when the casinos barely ever wanted to give up the space for them to begin with. I love Harrahs Laughlin and they've never had anything bigger than a SIX-table room, which obviously doesn't allow for much game selection or big fields in tourneys, although I admit they don't have the tourists to justify anything bigger either. Frustrating.

I only recently learned that most of the biggest poker rooms in all of the USA, are actually mostly in Southern California card clubs.

377 Quint, yup. California 'card clubs' have ONLY:

- Blackjack (oftentimes with weird rules, and an actual cost per hand the player has to pay EVERY hand, making it unprofitable by and large even with a good deck)

- Poker (the one area SoCal casinos do well in; good selection of games with the possible exceptions of classic draw and 5-card stud)

- Classic baccarat (but see blackjack; you get charged to play)

- What are called 'Asian Games' (Pai Gow, "Ultimate Texas Hold'Em," "Three Card Poker;" fun but overall usually unprofitable bastardizations of poker, blackjack or baccarat; then there's games played almost exclusively by Asian people such as 12-card poker; no thanks).

What REALLY drives me crazy? California, if it would just legalize and tax gambling throughout the state, could probably make a huge dent in its deficits, just by taking that step; but they don't wanna because either "hurting the poor" or "don't wanna compete with the state lotto" they take "contributions" from Vegas casino managers. Idjits.

498 Well, I had a real good shop day today. Got the 20-foot aluminum moving van body off my car trailer, and onto a pair of timbers, without doing any damage to either the trailer or the van body. The loader on the tractor was essential to this task.

Decked the trailer in its spot.

Finished my upgrades (for now) to the '88 Chevy pickup. New set of tires, check. Pull out old cracked rubber floor mats, check. Scrape and paint metal floor, check. Install nice carpet salvaged from parted-out '95 Chevy, check. It looks much nicer, and the new tires ride batter, too.

Mowed a bit with the riding mower.

Sorted a mess of nuts, bolts, and washer that had gone through my metal laundry, and put them into bin boxes.

Replaced a split fuel line on the '71 VW, and got it started and moved to mow where it had been sitting.

Started a walk-behind mower, and mowed in tight quarters around the garage.

Took gas can to town, but forgot to fill it.

No wonder i am tired.

I still have dreams and plans to film a movie. It's just that a lot of new stuff has come up that I kinda sorta have to get out of the way first. The biggest one, getting a car, is now out of the way, so IMHO it's just a matter of time before I can start plotting out a production.

I definitely think I'm going to end up shooting what I wrote last Christmas, although I still want to get at least one more script done as well first. Anyway, we shall see. (I also believe my original script would result in the cheapest-to-produce film, but who knows.)

542 happy day today...

i was off to pick up some free firewood about a mile or so from my house, when, as i got there, the neighbor had a tree crew in with a metric but load of wood chopped up on the street next door. (m guy's wood is on a slope below street level, and i'm old and out of shape.

asked him if i could come back Caturday, and he said "go for it"

went back to the flojos, who were about ready to load their truck and said "fill me up".

the homeowner came out part way through and it turns out i got a Tacoma load bed full of dead tree, already dried walnut.

my smoker, and herself's accountant/tax guy's pizza oven is going to be *very* happy this summer.

and i still get the other wood tomorrow.

it's the little things that make your day, right?
