From there it became a grim reminder of shop class back in high school. Stripping and staining were fairly straightforward. Instructions from online sites have you painting or staining in the squares. After considering that, I realized that with my skills it probably wasn't a good plan. So, I decided to get wood squares and solve my problem. The squares are 2" x 2" x 1/4". Of course, laying out the squares did not go quit as planned and they are off a bit at points. It is not bad if you do not look to closely. Overall, it is probably a C in shop class. I don't have the same disdain for monarchy that many here do but my interest in this wedding is close to zero.
Yeah, Harry is the grandson of the queen, etc., etc., but it's just not that big of a deal. That said --- and as with the otherwise snoozeworthy Oscars --- I always check out the fashion. The wedding dress? The bride said she was going for the kind of look Caroline Whoever wore when she married JFK Jr. Yeah, nice. But you can't get that sleek, sophisticated look when you're adding a fussy tiara, long veil, and big train. So it ended up being just okay. The reception halter-top dress was much sharper. Best dressed of the celebs that I saw --- Victoria Beckham. Understated and sleek, as usual. Amal Clooney overdid it in a neon-bright yellow dress and matching hat. She wears the color well, as few women do, but it registered an eleven on the attention-whore scale. Oprah, who usually dresses very well, looked dreadful in a tight boob-enhancing pink dress. This may be what Miss Piggy looks like naked --- except for the ginormous boobs. Posted by: Margarita DeVille at May 19, 2018 06:37 PM (0jtPF) 240

Sparkle's reception dress was much nicer than her wedding dress. She really shouldn't have worn a white wedding dress, it was tacky. Even if she were a virgin getting married for the first time...she is too old to wear white. a beautiful off white or ivory would have suited her much better. She does seem to wear lots of white. There were a lot of hideous dresses at this wedding. Why??? These people have tons of money, why do they choose such ugly dresses. Pippa's dress was horrible, ugh!!!

"The Spy Who Loved Me" The opening was hard to beat. Also, Barbara Bach!
"For Your Eyes Only" I'm a little biased here. One of the locations the movie was shot at was the Greek Isle of Corfu. I spent a week there and I have fond, somewhat blurry and in some cases blacked out, memories of my time there. Ouzo is good, dangerous, but good. Pints of Lager was about 50 cents a bottle. About the movie? How Roger Moore's Bond dispatched the bad guy on the edge of the cliff was cold blooded awesome! Posted by: Puddleglum at May 19, 2018 06:50 PM (pY+s4) 277

I'm serious here-don't tell me " a casket" "prison strikes" or "orange" ;^). I ask because there was a woman-the grandmother of the bride at the wedding I officiated at. My sister in law(brothers wife) invited my other sis in law (hubby's sister) over to spend the night last night so they could get up early and watch the wedding. First sis in law forgot to wake up second sis in law and second sis in law got in her face and yelled at her for not waking her up. I don't think she will ever do that again.

Breitbart has a write up about Markle's wedding fashion.
hint: they did not like it. Breitbart doesn't like Markle's politics. She's anti-Trump, anti-Brexit, and then all the other celebrity talking point crap. 267--- Sparkle's reception dress was much nicer than her wedding dress. She really shouldn't have worn a white wedding dress, it was tacky. Even if she were a virgin getting married for the first time...she is too old to wear white. a beautiful off white or ivory would have suited her much better. She does seem to wear lots of white.......
Posted by: lin-duh at May 19, 2018 06:47 PM (kufk0) --------------------------------- She looks good in true white and probably doesn't look so good in the ivory shades. I personally don't think a big, fancy wedding with a traditional veil and long dress is appropriate for a second wedding, whatever shade of white is chosen. But then, this is Harry's first. I dunno. Can you imagine the outcry if the queen had insisted on a more low-key, informal ceremony?!? Posted by: Margarita DeVille at May 19, 2018 07:09 PM (0jtPF) 334

Tyne Daly (sp?) looked pretty good in Judging Amy IMO. I think the first rule for any woman looking good is wear a smile so Shrillary was and is doomed and same with Michelle 90% of the time. Shillary chose to hook herself to Bill and be the evil lawyer smearing his conquests and assault victims.
I never got why Michelle seems so sour so much of the time, Barry adored her and the girls and she got tons of press adoration and free rein to gad about anywhere she wanted to, WTH reason did she have to look/be so grumpy, even if Barry is a hapless nerd who couldn't figure out gate/umbrella combos. And I don't need to hear about "just Barry's beard" Might be true but if so Barry adored her for being the cover and for being mom to the kids. That was his only decent feature IMO. Posted by: Margarita DeVille at May 19, 2018 07:09 PM (0jtPF) I liked the idea of the dress having little adornment, lace and ribbons and bows would have looked ridiculous on a 36 year old divorced woman. IMO, the veil was ridiculous. That dress would have looked fabulous with a hat and short veil. I know they wanted to incorporate Queen Mary's diamond tiara, which was pretty much obscured by all the tulle. by the way, the commentators on PBS(that is the channel I watched this on, as it had no commercials and no obnoxious Anderson Cooper and posse all commenting and joking, etc.) noted that Harry wore the uniform of the Blues or some such thing, which was several stations down from where he finished his Army career. They said he could have worn the higher up uniform with it's insignia, medals, awards, etc. but he wanted to show where he was most at home. I think Hillary got a lot of her clothes given to her possibly for future financial favors.(certainly wasn't to make the label look good). Since she wears the same Mao pantsuit all the time, it didn't take much to keep tossing the same thing at her door.

Posted by: lin-duh at May 19, 2018 07:38 PM (kufk0) PBS commentators said the invitations requested a hat and a "day dress". They added that because of the religious ceremony in a church, that meant no bare shoulders, sleeveless was ok, but not encouraged, and hats were required. I was surprised Breitbart thought Beckham's dress was great. Why would you wear a black dress to a noon wedding in May? Posted by: Jen the original at May 19, 2018 07:43 PM (7Ozit) 355
Also, since I'm indulging in cattiness, both Eugenie and her sister are, um, chubby.
On the other hand, the brief view I had of Sarah Ferguson showed her looking good, no real pudge, and was dressed stylish and conservative. Something she has not previously been known for. I was amazed that Prince Philip was able to walk into the church and to his seat. If you google Queen Rania, wedding dress, it will come up. If the FBI or DOJ was infiltrating a campaign for the benefit of another campaign, that is a really big deal. Only the release or review of documents that the House Intelligence Committee (also, Senate Judiciary) is asking for can give the conclusive answers. Drain the Swamp!
