Don't have a parent available to home school your children? Fine, how about small groups of parents pool their resources, have a small handful of kids gather at one home on Monday,another on Tuesday, still another on Wednesday. Or one home this week, the other home the following.

Or just have one parent who home schools a handful of other people's kids.

Without a massive DOE telling them how to frickin' do it. Then let's compare the outcomes of THOSE kids to the ones at the massive government schools.

Should tell him to check around. I know of several churches where the pastor has asked certain members of the congregation to volunteer to be security...Armed Security. These are active and retired LEOs, military, etc, and this includes some of the ladies.

I made a habit of this when my kids were in school. Every year I'd go down and sign them out and we'd go have an ice cream somewhere. We'd chat and just enjoy some time together. Then I'd take them back. It was special.
They remember it and now take their own kids out for a treat.

In WWI, the Germans, who were the first to use gas, wanted trench guns banned for being inhumane.

109 High school did suck big honkin donkey dicks for me as well, As a result I enlisted at 17, I could not wait to be done with the hellhole that was High school. My daughter hated her time in the same school and could not graduate fast enough. My son who went to the same school was so depressed he was on the brink of committing suicide, we pulled him out his sophomore year and he finished HS in an alternative school. HS is not a good environment in any way shape or form. Sending our children to the same HS that both my wife and me graduated from was a serious mistake and harmed both our kids. We both regret it bigly; All that and our schools are supposed to be exceptional. Our "good" schools suck balls. Big sprawling several thousand student mega High schools are a problem a Big problem they do not serve our kids well. If a kid has issues or just does not fit in... things may happen. Smaller schools with real security and real services to catch kids before they fail are the answer.

As far as I know, the greatest mass murder in this country (perpetrated by one or a small handful of individuals, not like 9/11) remains a case where the guy went into school, started killing, then after everyone went outside, blew up his car, filled with explosives. That's where the largest number of deaths occurred.

If I recall, this was sometime in the 20s or 30s.

We JUST started a security team at our church. And started locking un-needed exterior and interior doors, segregated the kid's bathroom from the adult's bathroom--all logical things to do in these times.

It helps that we dismissed our pastor 4 months ago. It's been a wonder what the congregation has initiated and followed through on without a hand-wringer in the pulpit stopping it all.

I did my first security stint this weekend and had many positive comments.

You might point out to your pastor that the point of security is actually deterrence--these shooters always scope out things first, and if they sense some amount of organized security they'll go up the road to a place that's easy. So a visible presence, doesn't have to be all tacticool, but moderately visible, is a tremendous first step.

Bath Consolidated School in Michigan. A local farmer and school board member did not like the bond issue for the new school and was in debt. So he blew up his farm, killed his wife, blew up the school, and when he got there he blew up himself and his truck along with people who had walked over to tell him what had happened.

Needs to be repeated and amplified. LEO have to think, and do think, that everyone they encounter is a bad guy. If you are going to do security, you need to make personal friends with your LEO departments so that they know who you are before anything like this happens. So that they recognize you by sight, and know your capabilities and your intent.

I did my first security stint this weekend and had many positive comments.

You might point out to your pastor that the point of security is
actually deterrence--these shooters always scope out things first, and
if they sense some amount of organized security they'll go up the road

tacticool, but moderately visible, is a tremendous first step.

There was a very very very nasty domestic matter going on with a church member and specific threats had been made. The sound booth is at the back of the auditorium and is on the second level. I know for a fact that every single member of the church security team is carrying.

I live in a Texas county, not really all that high in population, but there are 7 different independent school districts in this county centered on different regions. There is no reason at all that there couldn't be 1 ISD to handle the entire county.

But 7 ISD's means 7 different administrations, 7 independent HQ's, 7 times the administrative employees, and at least 7 times the expense than would be needed if there were just one.

I'm fully convinced this is a mental health issue, and that we need to begin fairly actively separating certain types of mental conditions from the general population.

Call it institutionalization, find a softer, gentler, term, I don't care.

It would simultaneously fix a lot of the homelessness issue as well--those guys out yelling at clouds may not ultimately be dangerous, but its awful for us to say that they're actually better off living under a bridge than receiving some sort of care.

Of course, with the kind of care that ultimately results when government runs it...there's just no way out.

Maybe 15k population, lots of agriculture and chemical plant workers for the most part. It does have a pretty robust winery too.

Highway runs through it. You can take that road from just north of Galveston all the way north to Lubbock.

We had 4 in my county. 3 of which were 1a schools. The only thing I could justify it with was distance and problems picking kids up all over the county for 1 school. Otherwise it should have been consolidated.

I'm kind of ashamed to admit it, but I recall years ago enjoying the spectacle of a bunch of protestors immobilizing Prince Charles' car and yelling at him through the windows. There were photos that captured the look of...indignant fear...on his face during the event.

My kids were in the infant and 2s/3s at the time. I would spend half the time thinking about it during Sunday services. They've since revamped a huge office complex with only ground floor rooms. Yea I've mentioned it here several times. Bath, Michigan in the 1920s. Andrew Kehoe was the perpetrator. He killed his wife too. He was pissed off about some tax levy related to the school and he had access to the building because he was on the school board or some other county body. He spent months loading it up with explosives. More people would've been killed if the whole thing went off, but something was faulty so it didn't totally demolish the structure.

Not these types of shootings ... but I believe most shootings at schools (or on school property) occur at urban schools. You just never hear about it and it's never actually called a "school shooting", until it becomes convenient for statistics to conflate with these sorts of school shootings. Of course, those shootings tend to be lots of gun spray and of short duration.

I have zero understanding where this idea that Harry is gay is coming from.
The guy has had a string of female girlfriends and romances since he was 17. Before he decided to do something meaningful with his life, such as join the Army, he ended up at so many parties in Vegas attended by starlets, and who knows what other women that he ended up called before the Queen for a "talk". His family did an intervention type of thing with him on more than one occasion.

Since his discharge from military service (ten years in both the infantry and as an Apache helicopter pilot) he dated several very beautiful British women, all of whom left when they couldn't handle the scrutiny from the wicked British press and tabloids. Markle hasn't had a problem with it, having been used to paparazzi as an actress.

I think giving the Prince some understanding is in order, he has a mature fianc� who handles the press because it's been her life also for years. Especially since his own mother was killed trying to escape the very same press and tabloids that made her life( and that of him and his brother) a living hell for years.

Black kids have different avenues to express their pathologies which usually involve dropping out, joining gangs, committing violence and going to jail.

White kids who exhibit issues are usually put on drug protocols, coddled by school systems, threats swept under the rug, excused or laughed off by administrators until they snap.

You want to put a huge dent in this type of thing?

Standardize on single entrence and egress card systems for teachers and students. Have armed guards on campus, closed circuit monitoring of the outsides of building and have zero tolerance for threats.

Its clearly not going to stop every bad actor but it would go a long way to reducing it dramatically.

I remember the high school football coach in my school district. Bad ass. Beat the shit out of a player on the team when he heard player was using drugs. Broke a couple of his bones.

The player had the last word. Got stoned and drove down the wrong side of the highway at 100 mph plus. Killed a young husband with child. I've never seen cars so accordion-ed. Player and his drug buddies all survived. Young husband in older car took steering wheel through the chest.

The worst part was that all the popular girls had fawned all over the druggie. He loved the attention.

To an extent, but that was a pretty small segment of the Nazi machine, all things considered.

I've always attributed this to system of Order Castles as well. Segregating SS boys just hitting puberty from the rest of society and instituting a brutal regimen of violent sadism as the primary form of education has predictable effects, IMO.

You don't know that. Either the kid will develope learned helplessness and become a doormat or he will lash out. That is what any normal person would do. That's why there are laws on the books where violence is justified if violence or the threat of violence is used against you.

Teachers are literally trained to condition kids. They are little authoritarian experts on conditioning kids. They know what they are doing

They are abusing power and played a part in ducking this kid up and Lord knows how many other millions of kids in the last few decades.

The Current Year educators are 95% feminists (men included). They act like bullies, they bullly kids (mostly boys from Kindergarten on), and they will circle the wagons and bully parents as well going as far as falsely accusing parents and purposely placing kids in bad emvironments at school to get back at the patents (who dare stick up for their kids.

I live in a Texas county, not really all that high in population, but there are 7 different independent school districts in this county centered on different regions. There is no reason at all that there couldn't be 1 ISD to handle the entire county.
