The media was caught lying about Trump's use of the word "animals" -- he plainly meant murderous MS13 gang members, but the media lied and said he referred to "undocumented" immigrants. Then, John Harwood, a simpleton's simpleton, attempted to rescue the media's false narrative by contriving a Fake But Accurate defense, arguing earnestly -- get this! -- that MS13 gang members, who swear by the motto "Rape, Control, Kill" (and no, that is not rightwing #FakeNews-- that's their literal motto) are actually human beings too and Trump was mean and wrong to say otherwise. This is what people have termed the press' tendency towards Weaponized Autism in deliberately misreading Trump to find offense -- they read everything tendentiously literally, pretending that calling someone an "animal" for his savage and bestial actions isn't a fairly common figure of speech, and arguing that #TheScience says that even murderous rapists are, according to science, Human Beings. Not only do most people beleive that humans are, in fact, animals (in the sense of being an animate, living mammalian creature) but the truth is, some acts you take reduce your humanity into the realm of the beast. Yes, there are animals that kill their own kind. Lions, for example. When a new male defeats and either kills or drives off the previous pride leader, he immediately kills all the cubs in the pride. But he doesn't do it for kicks or spite; he does it because of a genetic imperative. Mother Nature has instilled in male lions a drive to pass his genes along, and the fastest way to do it is to kill all the other male cubs to make the females go into heat so he can mate with them and pass his genes along.

Trump Donates Salary to the Dept. of Veterans Affairs
President Donald Trump has donated his $100,000 quarterly salary to the Department of Veterans Affairs, the White House announced on Thursday.
The Hill provided details of president's donation.
The money will be to the VA's caregiver program. Trump is donating his salary each quarter to "important projects," press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said.
In the past, the money has gone to a variety of projects, including repairs to the Antietam National Battlefield in Maryland, infrastructure improvements and to fight the opioid crisis.
Acting Veterans Affairs Secretary Robert Wilkie attended Thursday's press briefing to accept the donation, The Hill reported.
Wilkie said the money will be used for mental health and peer support programs, financial aid and research to assist those who care for veterans.

Of course we can't know for sure whether that's true, but I'm inclined to take his word on it... why wouldn't he have rounded up Jews elsewhere, if that was the motivation?

I'm aware of that, but no one else was covered any of the same sort of general expulsion order.
I'm not saying that Grant was incorrect in his reasoning, but I would be pretty sure that there were many others trading the same and no one else fell under any sort of expulsion order. Of course, lots of people got treated very harshly, individually, if the Union thought they were helping the South ... very, very harshly.

I don't claim to be an exper,t and people can speak about whatever they want to here. I'm just saying there are groups that endorse pacifism but they have never been the majority within the Christian tradition, and yes "Thou shalt not kill" has to do with murder-not self defense. Dennis Prager had some video on this if it hasn't been removed.
