Almost a Year After the Political Assassination at the Baseball Field, and Our Upright and Truth-Telling FBI Still Won't Admit The Obviously-Politically-Motivated Attack Was Politically Motivated

Why should anyone ever trust the FBI, ever?

By the way, "assassin" can refer to both a successful and failed assassin -- either way, whether he killed his target or not, he's an assassin.

So I'm calling this an assassination rather than an attempted one.

John Sexton quotes the Buzzfeed retrospective and adds his own commentary.

On June 14, 2017, James Hodgkinson tried to kill Republican members of Congress as their baseball practice broke up. Today, just one month shy of the one year anniversary of that date, Buzzfeed has published a look back that morning which contains some striking detail....

Ultimately, the FBI refused to say the shooter had a political motive, though it's clear to everyone who was on the field that day that he did [quoting Buzzfeed, linked in the tweet at the top of the post]:

The FBI briefed the players on their findings in the fall of last year. Several members were shocked they wouldn't call the shooting politically motivated. Palmer ended up leaving after about a half hour.

"I think most people were really upset," Palmer says. "I think I may have been the first one that really called them out, and then after I did everybody kind of piled on. I guess everybody was upset. Everybody knew that what they were saying was a crock. The guy had a list. He came there to shoot Republicans."

He thinks they "misrepresented what happened because of concerns over the political fallout."

"I felt like they blew it off."

"They said, 'So essentially this was suicide by cop.' And weíre like, 'Only?' And I can tell you, I can buy that from what I saw at the end, where he walked out openly shooting," Wenstrup says. "But letís not kid ourselves here. You look at his website. He hates Republicans. He had the names of six Republicans in his pocket. He had -- his social media is full of it. He camped out there for two months planning this, to kill Republicans. Did he hope to die at the end? Maybe."

Sexton comments:
The FBI's failure to label it what it obviously was is one reason the story dropped out of the news so quickly.

Which is why they refused to tell the truth about it.

The FBI employs a trick to not call terrorism terrorism.

Whenever an Islamist kills people, the FBI is quick to say that there do not appear to be "any overseas connections," and therefore, refuse to label the attack "terrorism."

But note: There is no requirement of "overseas connections" in terrorism. Terrorism is simply violence or threat of violence carried out to terrorize a population to effect a political purpose.

If a White Supremacist group attacks a black church, does the FBI say, "Well, we could find no overseas connections, so it's not terrorism?"

Of course not. This made-up requirement of an "overseas connection" is used by the FBI only in the case of Islamist terrorist attacks so they can lie about the purpose and motivation of attack.

This appears nowhere in the law defining "terrorism" nor in the common understanding the term. It's a made-up requirement so that the FBI can pretend away certain crimes they wish to make go away -- much like the FBI made up the "intent" requirement of the Espionage Act to specifically absolve Hillary.

The organization has been turned away from the mission of Justice and now exists almost entirely to serve as the Armed Wing of the Democrat Party.

76 Another trick they like to use is the "no motive" spin. They don't mean the guy had zero motivation atall by this. They know that Muhammad Muhammud al'Muhammed is motivated by Islamic radicalism.

No, what they mean is they don't know the motive as to why he chose this particular spot and time and target using these exact weapons at this date I mean, globally sure its Jihadi, but why this particular jihadi action? Who can say?? We cannot puzzle out his motivations.

Now, of course if Billy Joe Bob McCracker goes and shoots up a Vietnamese family yelling about how much he hates Hmongs then suddenly motivation is clear, they don't need specifics: hate, racism, probably PTSD.

Its a game played with semantics to control the narrative. And the people who do it need their asses fired ASAP.

104 Decimation really doesn't have quite the same impact on people's morale and psyche if they aren't forced to kill their fellow soldiers in the process. It wasn't just 1 of 10 taken out. It was 1 in 10 executed in front of everyone, then the entire unit obliterated, their standard burned, their records gone, as if it never existed. The survivors were scattered through the other legions.

Firing one out of ten people lacks that kind of power.

108 It's rather amusing to see how the FBI's word and testimony, which was apparently golden in criminal trial, is now being successfully challenged by defense attorneys. Seems like that reputation for integrity and competence is a hard thing to win back once you've been caught being a partisan, incompetent, lying corrupt Federal agency.

Generally speaking, any time a police officer is revealed as corrupt, that suddenly prompts a retrial of everything they ever were involved in. Imagine the results of half the FBI being shown as corrupt....

111 Decimation really doesn't have quite the same impact on people's morale and psyche if they aren't forced to kill their fellow soldiers in the process. It wasn't just 1 of 10 taken out. It was 1 in 10 executed in front of everyone, then the entire unit obliterated, their standard burned, their records gone, as if it never existed. The survivors were scattered through the other legions.

Firing one out of ten people lacks that kind of power.

163 So basically elements of the FBI (those that arrange "special handling" for Hillary crimes) are on board with the overthrow of the USA via an international crime syndicate (including elements of five eyes?). They are the Democrat Party, and the GOPe "leadership" which still pushes open border (itself just a surrender of sovereignty)

While they may not (or may) be directly tied to the Soviet era infiltration of our institutions, they are certainly on board with the purging of national unity, which "critical theory" and the assault on American Exceptionalism is designed to destroy.

Their biggest target are patriotic Americans that have a strong belief in sovereignty and liberty for all (citizens). They have the internet giants all on board with the "censorship" plans for the conservative voice.

They find "Trump/Russia" everywhere, but Hillary/Fusion/Russia nowhere. Because of course Rosenstein/Comey/Mueller were in place to make sure there was never quite enough evidence to prosecute Hillary. Can't talk about it cuz "under investigation" for years, then said investigations always come up lacking .. cuz they are dirty cops, part of the plan.

Calling them an armed wing of the Democrat Party, while completely true, sort of obfuscates that part.

How 'bout our buddies swinging those huge locks and smacking the heads of "right wingers?" How many of those are listed as terrorists? And yet, that is precisely what they are.

How 'bout Black Lives Matter, which blocked an ambulance from getting to the hospital? Listed as terrorists? No way.

How 'bout "the black kids" feral creatures who mob places to loot, beat folks and rape their way into history? Terrorists? You betcha, but never called that. Nor held to account, even though they are clearly seen on video tape doing those things.

190 Isn't the fbi leadership part of the executive branch? Seems to me Trump is supposed to have some control over that branch of govt. aren't republicans in charge of both houses of the legislative branch. Are they not disgusted with FBI failure to call the shooting at the republican baseball practice an attempt to kill republicans specifically? How is the fbi still in business? It must be because nearly everyone is corrupt. The republicans don't think their lives are worth standing up for. They must really be in deep.

CNN editor-at-large Chris Cillizza posted a gif containing crosshairs over the image of President Trump on Tuesday.

The original tweet read, "Donald Trump, pointing to heavens to commemorate police officers killed in the line of duty," and showed green crosshairs over the president's face.

Cillizza later deleted the tweet and insisted that he did not add the crosshairs himself - rather, he blamed the GIF service used by CNN.

True, But ...

the thing is, a deception once exposed becomes less "magical", like when a magic trick is revealed. Much of the left's grip on American education is based in lies and deceit ... and debt.

The "red pill" effect can be eye opening, a Saul on the road to Damascus type moment. The epiphany of the real corruption of DC is really not such a secret, and Trump Policy increases in favor even as DC continues to plot against the citizenry.

The challenge is great, but a turn could occur quickly, imo.

Constitutionally, all executive power is vested in the Preezy. But we've had this tradition that the President be independent of federal law enforcement, to keep it apolitical. So all of Trump's lawyers are telling him he can't interfere.

Note this means that federal law enforcement is essentially unaccountable, that only appointed officials run it.

But nope, all executive power comes from the President. The power to break doors and shoot people under federal law, that belongs to the President.

If Trump tried to take control, they'd be screaming political interference to high heaven.

The idea of this independence was to prevent a president from using law enforcement for nefarious political purposes.

But what of it when law enforcement itself has become a nefarious political actor? Trump should say fuck it use his constitutional power to clean house. There is no one that can constitutionally exercise any executive power without the authority of the president.

The Dept. of Justice didn't even exist until 1870, signed into law before that.

Originally, US attorneys which were created early on, were under the Dept. of the Interior. The AG existed, but the position was simply a legal adviser to the president and Congress. Sort of the WH Counsel now, whose office is probably bigger than the entire federal apparatus used to be back in the day.

351 If a White Supremacist group attacks a black church, does the FBI say, "Well, we could find no overseas connections, so it's not terrorism?" -ace-

Cases in point: Dylan Roof and Charlottesville.
In the first case it was lone wolf terrorism attributed erroneously to Nazism and in the second to the alt-right as a whole, by tainting it with Nazism and WN. In the second they may have had a point because the clown brigade was indeed out in force, but the point is this; If the right (as the press defines it) can be blamed, it is domestic terrorism. If the left is clearly culpable, there's nothing to see here, move along.

It's sad and dangerous what has happened to our institutions, and there's little we can do about except hope a man on a horse can save us from where we're headed, and he won't be a tyrant himself.
