(They say "blowing" the student, whereas the decorous Post says "oral sex.")A sixth-grade teacher in Arizona accused of having sex with a 13-year-old student performed oral sex on him in a classroom -- and told the teen she wanted him "every day with no time limit," according to court records. Brittany Zamora, a 27-year-old teacher at Las Brisas Academy Elementary School in Goodyear, allegedly had sex with the 13-year-old student three times and also performed oral sex on him in her car during encounters from Feb. 1 through March 8, according to court records obtained by the Arizona Republic. Zamora and the teen also traded naked photos, he told police, saying their relationship started when the married teacher began “flirting” with him in a classroom chat group. She then sent the teen a nude picture of herself and another clad in lingerie.Artist's depiction below.

Speaking as a Catholic, I find it supremely ironic that everyone assumes that all priests are pedophiles, when it is manifestly clear that a great many public school teachers went into teaching to have access to kids for sexual gratification.

Why I don't understand is why they always send the kids naked pics and texts spelling out the sex acts. Don't they ever read the stories about the other teachers who've been prosecuted? The evidence used to convict them (other than the kid's testimony) is always photos and texts. They must know that, once word is out, the cops will start looking through the kid's phone. Memory jog! I did have a hot, athletic (judo and karate) English teacher in 10th grade. Brown hair, nice tan, and a figure to make teenage boys fall down and bite sticks. Nice legs, too. So that makes 2 I knew in junior high and high school. Out of about 30 *, that's not much.
(30 = 5 classes, excluding P.E., x 6 years. Some of the academic teachers were men, too, so maybe more like 20-23 teachers, and only 10% were hot.)

1. Kids are different today than when we grew up (for some definitions of "we" anyway). We were more mature, expected to grow up earlier, and a coarser boys-will-be-boys ethos was tolerated. None of this is really true anymore.
2. There's a significant difference between early teens and late teens.
3. The authority figure thing, as opposed to an older neighbor, for example, might make a difference. Teachers have some ability to reward or punish those who do/don't comply and bribe.
4. If it were just sex that'd be less harmful, I think. But these weirdos profess their love for their pupils, sometimes have kids by them.
5. Most of these weirdos are involving their pupils is adulterous relationships which are widely considered to be independently immoral. Some people can fool around with married partners without a pang of conscience. 13 year olds? (Not something we'd want to encourage even if they could do so.)

But here's the thing, normal people DON'T want this at all. Especially women. Normal adult women don't look at a 13 year old boy and want to have an affair.
When girls were actually 13 they didn't want to date 13 year old boys. They wanted an older guy in high school.
I can totally understand an adult having an affair with another adult and not thinking about the consequences or the morality.

I don't know per capita but according to FBI data, its up to 200 teachers molesting a kid per 1 priest. The data isn't 100% locked in because they aren't sure how many people lied about priests molesting them. Its at least 100:1 maybe double that.

But again - who here lived in this Grand Age of Social Responsibility ? I'd like to hear it.
My Old Man graduated in '72. He's 63. They partied. A lot. And did not give a flying fuck about all these Socially Responsible behaviors that so many Moralists around here claim were all the rage.
Every person I ever talk to tells similar stories about being a young adult in the seventies.

37 year old me (if I had a 13 year old son) would be furious and disgusted, and I would react the same way as I would if it were a male teacher doing things to a 13 year old daughter.
It is disgusting and not normal. She needs to be locked up.

It's more obvious it's happening, but we don't know if it's happening more. Before cell phones the teacher would have denied it, and in the absence of proof the whole thing would have been chalked up to the overactive imagination of a teenage boy. Probably by his parents, long before it got to the cops.

There were rumors in my HS that one of the football players hooked up with a younger teacher, and that one of the more flamboyant teachers was a predator on young boys.
Who the hell knows.
I do recall in 8th grade a fresh faced teacher right out of school was definitely flirty with the football players and showed off some of her cleavage frequently...and she also didn't last very long.
Looking back, I could definitely see her going after those guys.
