US-Iraq Joint Operation Captures Top Five ISIS Leaders With Honey and Cross Border Raids But Mostly Cross Border Raids

Gotcha.

Although their names haven't been reported yet, pictures of them have been printed in Iraqi media.

Their pictures appeared next to images taken from ISIS propaganda. In one image too gruesome to show, one of the captured commanders can be seen grinning and posing next to a row of severed heads.

The ISIS leaders are said to have featured in a series of sick execution videos, filmed when the extremist group controlled large swathes of Iraq.

The New York Times reports this was indeed a joint US-Iraqi intelligence operation:

Some in the media are even admitting this is good news:

100 Thought that occurred to me just now regarding all the NeverTrumpers.

Many of them, like Jonah Goldberg (not that Goldberg is among the hardest-core in that crowd), are well-versed in history, and have a great respect for the "statesmen" of Old World Europe and their accomplishments, as they honestly should. But, being embroiled in my dissertation writing just now, I've learned a lot about the conduct of these guys. Clemens von Metternich, the Austrian chancellor who settled international peace in Europe after the Napoleonic Wars, kept a string of mistresses, including some of his wife's close friends. Tsar Alexander II, who freed the Russian serfs, behaved in a similar fashion, and had a long affair with some girl named "Katya" he had known as a child, and wrote a lot of highly graphic, even pornographic, letters to her about what he wanted to do to her.

Gross. But would the NeverTrump crowd dismiss the accomplishments of these men and others because of their personal behavior? No. They'd say that their accomplishments are what they are, and that history should judge them on those things, rather than their personal conduct.

Which I agree with. So why can't you also judge Trump in that way?

"Overlook domestic scandals"

Was he referring to -

Greatest law enforcement, intel, constitutional scandal in US history (by a huge margin), the criminal misuse of the FBI, DOJ, and intel agencies, against Trump?

The accumulated papered-over scandals of Clinton, which come in 2nd place as greatest national-level scandals in our history (U-1, Espionage and Federal Records Act, bribery/Clinton Foundation)???

The Awan/intelligence scandal of the Democratic House caucus?

The bipartisan sexual miscondust pay-off scandal in the House of Representatives?

Just a partial list. Are THESE the "domestic scandals" of which he speaks?

Well, it's a damn fine question. I mean, if only PDJT had his AG run illegal guns south of the border to come back and kill Americans, or had his SecState negotiate a cash-deal with, ahem, Russia for a quarter of our Uranium then maybe we could get past all this.

But I guess because the guy had sex with someone who (redacted) on camera for a living 12-years before he became President we have "a scandal".

153 100 Thought that occurred to me just now regarding all the NeverTrumpers.

I see your point, but the NT's would say, basically that, that's what was the norm then. Whereas, it is not now as supposedly upper crust elite (which they would have been known as back then) have "evolved."

Second point is: How far would you be willing to go to win? The D's? There is no bridge too far. But for the NTs, they believe they have "principles" that would stop them at some point. Obviously Trump is one. But the issue is: They have never had to answer for how far they would go, because when given chances, they've backed away - see Cruz's Obamacare Filibuster. So they are able to maintain their invite status to cocktail parties while claiming principles. But at the end of the day, they are upset just as much as the Ds that Trump has shaken them from the bushes 9no pun intended) and shown them to be what they really are. Folks more interested in the status quo that really pushing a true conservative agenda.

But this is what matters: there's no evidence whatsoever of him doing so for over a decade now. Almost as if... he's a changed man. As if his current wife helped him become a better man, as is her duty and position as a wife.

And isn't that something to celebrate and admire?

The
book "The Rape of the Mind," by Joost Meerloo, is a rather detailed
work on how brainwashing has been used by the totalitarians, on well
trained military men. The guy was about as close as you could get to
THE expert on the subject.

His
perspective includes the fact that military training, no matter how
effective, is not going to keep some people from cracking, and there's
not really any correlation between the quality of character, and the
likelihood that someone will sing.

He
does offer some mitigating factors, that might help reduce the
possibility, but I got the impression from reading the book, that the
author was well aware, there are just some things that cannot be
overcome, no matter what.

So... the question for Mccain is: How easily was he rolled?

458 What if I think that the blunder wasn't with Bush's plan itself , but the fact that he was undermined by democrats in congress and the media until the public lost the will to finish it properly?

461 LOL. Yeah, it's always going to end in the foreseeable disaster for Trump. But oddly, it never does.

Why do Democrats hate America so much? The trolls are out in force.

462 But they are also Legal entities... so the question also becomes if the US Government recognizes the Natural Right of Free Speech... how can a Licensed organization within America, deny you Freedom of Speech?
Posted by: Don Q. at May 10, 2018 03:32 PM (NgKpN)

The government does not recognize any such thing. Freedom of speech only relates to the government prosecuting a citizen for something he said or wrote.

That's it. Any other person or organization can deny you freedom of speech whenever he feels like it. Anyone who doubts this should try mouthing off to his boss.

Crestfallen, simply crestfallen.

First time I saw Van Halen in concert, I was down in front and I could see into the side stage. There was this hawt chick hanging out on Eddie's side of the stage, and I remember thinking "Damn, that chick looks a lot like the One Day At A Time chick."

About a month later is when I first heard they were dating.
