Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Gary Kleck was Wrong. He estimated 2.2 million defensive gun uses annually, and was properly derided for it by the gun-grabbers, who claimed only 100k uses per year. Turns out the CDC did a survey for 3 years, 1996 thru '98. Somehow they forgot to publish the data. They asked a very clear question:“During the last 12 months, have you confronted another person with a firearm, even if you did not fire it, to protect yourself, your property, or someone else?”So, contrary to Kleck's wild supposition of 2.2 million uses, it turns out he was off by an astounding 300 thousand uses!!! According to the CDC, there are 2.5 million uses of guns for defensive purposes. So congrats, all you common-sense, sciencytific luvin lugnuts. You called it. Kleck was wrong. Granted, you were off by a slightly worse 2.4 million uses, and if that number were reported by the MSM it would completely destroy your arguments for "gun control". But you can rest easy, secure in the comfort that the MSM will never report these numbers. Comments(Jump to bottom of comments)1

According to the CDC, there are 2.5 million uses of guns for defensive purposes.
More interestingly, po-tarts bitten into gun shapes were used defensively 21,412 times in 2017. Sadly, there were also 144 cases of pop-tarts bitten into gun shapes and used for bank robberies, along with 22 cases of pop-tart gun shapes having been used for kidnappings. I will always remember the story my CHL instructed told us many years ago. His wife is also a expert shooter. They were going to their car in the parking lot after shopping when a guy approached my instructor with a knife and demanded his wallet. My instructor looked at the guy and motioned with his head behind him and said ' that might not be a good idea'.
The wife had taken a shooting position on the roof of the car ready to take out the thug. This of course caused the guy to run away immediately. ( It then led to questions why she didn't shoot him immediately which then led to his lecture on all the trouble you have to go through even on a legal justified shoot) Posted by: Sebastian Melmoth at April 26, 2018 12:23 PM (n1b3L) 17

We really would have an absolutely out of control crime problem in the US if they ever did outlaw private gun ownership.
Culture matters, and liberals like to cherry pick statistics and compare something like Norway gun deaths to the US to make their case, it wouldn't go down like that at all. What is amusing is even liberals "favorite" countries to cherry pick right now have nothing to crow about when it comes to these sorts of statistics ever since they let in the Muslim invaders. It's hard to know for sure, but there are likely somewhere in the neighborhood of 1,000,000,000 firearms in the US.
So that makes 1,000,000,000 billion uses of guns in self-defense, because the point of them is to protect us against the overreach of government. And, the US Federal Government hates us and wants to enslave us. Given a single opportunity, they will. The only thing that stops them is fear. So, every single day that we continue to walk around breathing air as free men and women, there have 1,000,000,000 successful uses of weapons in self-defense. However... the pinheads who monitor this stuff, will take water samples from around the islands, and find microscopic traces of plastic in the water. It's true! And I suppose somebody did the math, or traveled some distance from the islands, and found it miles away. So that's how they get to their estimations of the size of the "islands." You think that's bad, the Russians have admitted that in the Soviet era they dumped several old nuclear submarines, 14 nuclear reactors, and 19 other vessels loaded up with radioactive waste into the Kara Sea, north of Russia. and now of course they're all too rusted up and broken apart to ever go back and safely recover them. I once used a non existant gun to protect myself. In the people's republic of California it's pretty much illegal to carry consealed but I went though the training and process to try to get a permit. Permit was denied. A few months later I found myself cornered by some young thugs in a parking garage. I was going to get mugged, probally beaten and maybe killed. So, I pretened like I had a gun consealed and got into I'm going to draw stance with my hand over where I'd normally conseal a gun. I then smiled at my would be robbers like I was happy for a chance to some justfied defensive shooting.. That spooked them and they took off. So I've never had to pull a gun to defend myself, but the mere fact that I could simulate that I had a gun was enough.

You don't have to pull a trigger or point a gun at someone to use a gun.
I use my guns everyday, both at home, in my daily travels and at work. They give me a very real sense of security, because I have a the judgment and capabilities to use them in a defensive capacity. Posted by: molonlabe28 at April 26, 2018 02:36 PM (DVuHP) 298
Too bad Springfield Armory's "Saint" AR is an assemblage of parts they bought out the back door of BCM (Bravo Company Machining) at a discount, then sold at full freight.
High end ARs, you want High Caliber Sales for Mk12s or Recces, BCM for a decent carbine, Hodge if you want that snobby goodness, Sons of Liberty Gun Works if you don't mind the engraving, or LMT. Or Knight's Armament, now that the war has slowed down and they aren't retard back ordered. Now Brownells is fixing to bring in a bunch of surplus HK416 stuff from overseas if you want on that piston fad, but I don't see much use for the average shooter.
