7 Back from vacay. Uneventful flight home. I see that Trump! was in Key West about 2 weeks after me. It would have been fun to see the motorcade, but I'm glad he wasn't there when I was. It looks like they went to the Naval Air Station there near the Southernmost Point. Would have messed up our chance to get pic at the marker for sure.
Of course Trump! wouldn't care. Because he's a doody head.

He's not. It just seems the popular MSM thing to say no matter what Trump! says or does. My wife and I would have loved to seen the motorcade, even if you can't really see him (I'm assuming) because of the tinted windows.
We stayed about 2 blocks away from the point. We could have easily worked in another time for the pic.

75 Okay so....the guy is coming to visit over Memorial Day weekend. (We live 6 hours from each other). He's already booked his rooms, made his plans. It's going to happen.

He's an outdoorsy gent, so the first day he is "here" he is actually going to a state park for some hiking. He told me he didn't know what my plans were, but I think he wants me to join him.

On one hand, I feel like I should take interest in the things he likes to do. On the other hand, I am not much of a hiker. I mean....if he wanted to hike, there are places much closer than here, so I know he is coming because he wants to spend time with me. And, since he is making such an effort, I sort of feel obligated to do the same.

So....I guess my question is....as guys, early on in a relationship, how important is it for the girl to show fair amount of interest in the things you like? Or would you rather maintain distinct identities/interests?

If it's the latter, I'd go with him. He'll be happy to slow down and show you what he appreciates about hiking through nature and you might learn that you like it, too.

119 @108

I think Lowes has 10% off smokers. Or that Amazon one sounds pretty good too.

@101

It's hard to explain. I've hiked before. And, I'm not a girly girl. I like getting dirt on my feet and what not. But sometimes hiking is just walking. And sometimes hiking requires climbing and all sorts of stuff. Like...when I go to a water park, and have to climb the stairs to the slides...I have to stop like twice, and I am pretty sure I'm gonna die. But...generally, I can walk 10 miles a day while on vacation and not break a sweat.

I have short, stubby legs, so just walking down the street, I either have to walk at a normal pace, which is slow to some people. Or, I have to walk twice as fast.

I dunno.....I guess the impression I got from him was, "This is what I'm doing, you can join me or not" and so I don't know if he really wants me to come or doesn't care either way.

The state park does hayrides at night, so that could be fun...

I don't even know why people who aren't religious in the slightest and disdain Judeo Christianity even comment on whether the Bible is overrated or not. The Bible -It's a faith thing-either you have faith or you don't, and because of your faith it gives value. I mean, the Bible can be read as literature and people can appreciate it even if they are Agnostic , but I doubt many people at GQ are practicing Jews or Christians or have a deep appreciation for those traditions.

206 It is "repetitive, sententious, foolish, and even at times ill-intentioned," or, in a nutshell, "certainly not the finest thing that man has ever produced."

It's a stupid critique anyway. Repetitive-gee, because people often the same message relayed to them again and again because they didn't get it the first time?!!Sententious- They mean moralistic. Gee, the Bible has some morals that it thinks are important including the Ten Commandments?!!. Who'd thought that?!! Foolish-Well, the fool says in his heart, etc. Ill intentioned-People behave badly in the bible sometimes-You could knock me over with a feather!! The intention in the Bible is to point people to the living God so that they might have a relationship with Him and in that have a positive relationship with others. If that's not your intention in life well, then it won't mean much to you.

I'd list GQ as not one of the finest things man has produced.

231 I struggle a bit with [Avicii's] fame. The three guys that sang on his biggest hits are virtually unknown, even within his demographic. To my ears, their voices are what made the songs not Avicii - sure, I know producers add a ton to a recording/performance. But, I don't know - the vocalists should be celebrated too.

Aloe Blacc, Dan Tyminski and Adam Lambert

Posted by: Tonypete
________

His fame resulted in a shift in the overall music market. Way back when, consumers recognized songwriters. Around the 1940s, the attention shifted from the songwriters to the performers. So, for example, "God Bless America" went from being an Irving Berlin song to a Kate Smith Song in people's minds.

Around the '60s (give or take) the market rewarded the singers/songwriters -- people and bands who both created and performed their music. As a result, The Beatles became hugely famous.

With the massive popularity of EDM/house in the 2000s, the consumer focus shifted again -- this time to the producers. The genre saw a lot of cross-fertilization of talent with various singers contributing their talents to various producers' works. There was so much money in EDM that vocalists who had already made their mark in other genres started laying down vocals for EDM tracks. Aloe Blacc, who's famous in his own right as an R&B singer, is an example of this. Even Charlotte Church got into this for awhile.

For myself, I just love the vocal stylings of Audrey Gallagher, regardless of who gets the main credit.

I have no doubt it exists. Much of it is made up of fishing debris. The currents cause it to gather to form the 'patch' .

283 good morning glorious horde ...

from the rural heartland I'm surrounded by neighbors that have been here most of their lives, usually generations. But the cities are still being flooded with new waves of foreigners, and since at least 1965 those waves have been mostly third world.

Comey/Mueller are central figures in "standing down" and actively suppressing criminal probes into Hillary and the open borders mob that are somehow tied with the whole "New World Order" plans to import a new people who will outvote US and cause chaos and more debt.

This has been a coup, still is a coup. Worse really, because they are not like many coups where a military takes control on behalf of the people (mostly) over a cartel aligned dictator ... this is the cartel taking control from a duly elected president.

The goal leaves some Morons perplexed.

Berkshire Hathaway joint ventured with a Brazilian company to buy Heinz. Then they spun it off into an independent company so it could merge with Kraft Foods. It's Kraft-Heinz now.

They make it confusing on purpose to get you to buy a program.

That it is, but they didn't think it all the way through. Most immigrants that I've known, especially from the old USSR, vote Democrat but are fiercely conservative. (I'm guessing the same is true for Hispanics but I might be wrong.) Once they align their votes with their attitudes, the whole shebang will backfire on the Dems.

As are the Guardian comments. Some of them are so egregiously inappropriate to the occasion that they are in fact worth seeing. There's trash like this:

"Donald Trump, a fierce critic and political rival of the Bush family, did not attend."

Yes, I am confused. Does that mean it's OK for me to buy Heinz products now, or not? What is the Tides Foundation up to now?
