The Morning Rant: J.V. Edition

punk-monkey.jpg

This reminds me of a short story, "The Garden Party," by Katherine Mansfield, in which the huge divide between two social classes is used as a backdrop. One character has no concept of how the other class lives, and when I read this story I remember thinking, "What a twit."

America is the same way. And it is very possible that the seemingly unbridgeable divide between the ignorant elites who are afraid of the very idea of guns and the normals who up until now looked at them with mild amusement, thinking, "What twits," will take a more significant turn. I cannot imagine how we can coexist.

Woman calls cops on man playing with his kids at park because she was afraid of his pro-gun shirt

Blue Lives Matter reported that Benbrook Police Department Cpl. J. Reese said the woman did indeed call police on Johnston, and described him as a “suspicious person” who had a “gun holstered to his chest” and wearing the offensive T-shirt.

When Reese arrived at the park, he spoke with the woman, who said that Johnston was “was making other parents on the playground very uncomfortable with his T-shirt.”

“The subject did not act threatening to anyone, nor did he threaten anyone,” Reese noted, and later described Johnston as “polite.”

“She was not scared of the gun,” Reese added. “[She] was concerned about his T-shirt.”

According to Johnston, who “voluntarily identified himself” to Reese, he offered to show his gun permit to police.

“They didn’t ask,” Johnston told Blue Lives Matter.

But having a sitting senator who is a proven liar is just peachy!

And by the way, I am pleased as punch that Pompeo has "allied himself with anti-Islam" groups. It's one of the first steps in protecting our nation.

I'm not holding my breath, but it would be great if they showed a little intestinal fortitude and dumped her muzzy ass on Highway 99. Maybe she can give BJs at truck stops. But just at night...she is a nasty looking woman.

Or in their terms: de-normalizing guns. They want people to think twice about even mentioning guns out in public, let alone owning and using them.

76 I had something happen to me some years back that's apropos here. I was out for a Sunday morning walk in the town park where I then lived in western NY, on a nice, sunny morning, wearing jeans, t-shirt, hiking boots, my backpack and a random baseball cap I grabbed which happened to have the Winchester logo on it.

As I was walking in the park I heard someone shouting at me and turned to see a large, sweaty guy lumbering towards me, yelling his head off. This fatty fascist then started berating me, calling me "one of them survivalist tea party militia traitors" and waving his cell phone at me telling me he was going to call the sheriff because I was "scaring people" in the park.

I guess the hiking boots made me a survivalist militia member? Or the backpack? I guess it was just the Winchester logo because he was very upset about my hat and kept ordering me to take it off. At one point, the corpulent creep said I was "worse than ISIS and for all he knew I was a terrorist."

But I got really lucky. My mom happened to be a long-time employee of the town police dept. (since retired) which was almost within eyeshot of the park. I got out my own phone and told the Hefty Himmler: "Why call the sheriff when the town police are right over there? This isn't the sheriff's jurisdiction. Call the cops on me-my mother is the dispatcher, she'll take your call. No, really, use my phone, I have the direct number on speed-dial. I insist. Maybe you can talk to the judge while you're at it. He's my Godfather (also true.)"

I walked away whistling while the bloated bozo muttered impotent threats at me.

180 A now former FB friend of mine was a 20 year tort lawyer, assured me (and everyone in the Atlantic thread) that an NRA member could be liable for a murder (like the one in FL, this was over the Delta/NRA flap) committed by someone with a gun, because the NRA advocates such dangerous policy. (she meant in a tort I guess, not for the actual murder)

I refuted that and she went personal, accused me of "mansplaining", and worse. I looked up what she tried to use as grounds (in nasty condescending tone) and it had been refuted by the NRA back in 1991, and she even admitted no judge had ruled as she wished. But these SJWs flood every site, and I assume the FB dictators will toss out people that argue. I actually got some questionnaire thing from FB, (presumably) since I argued WrongThink, and someone(bot) probably complained.

Anyway, this is the NYTimes from 1991, on how the left tried to make gun makers liable, and it includes an NRA response.

It is also a violation 18 U.S. Code 241 "conspiring to threaten or intimidate".

No, I disagree: it's about demonizing gun owners. They want you to think it's about guns, because it is not against the law to oppress guns, which have no rights, but it is a federal felony to oppress the rights of gun owners. They don't want to be arrested for that felony so they shrewdly misdirect you as to what they are doing. You have simply fallen for their Jedi mind trick.

Dunno. IIRC, the operator wrapped the microwave oven in a blanket of fiberglass insulation, opened the door and placed the ore inside of the oven (the ore in a crucible, I think). Meh ... I'd say Citizens.

I'm met plenty - in meatspace as well as online - more than happy to disarm me, but can't give enough firepower to the various agencies of Local, State, and Federal Government.

There's a notion out there ... quite common ... that a Police State would be a good thing. That notion is held by some Republicans I've met as well as many Democrats.

I still think it all comes down to this ... the source of the vast majority of political arguments ...

What is the proper roll of the State with respect to the Citizenry ?

FWIW during my brief time in Uganda I got the impression that their definition of marriage is not the same as in the west.
It doesn't necessarily mean a ceremony with a the signing of a certificate. Polygamy is still a reality in parts of Africa. People who have just started living together appear to call themselves married.
The definition of marriage is not radically different, but it does appear to be different.

File that under answers to questions nobody is asking.

3. We protect our families and marriages. You are penalized for being married and working, our liberal judges in divorce courts will turn your children against, and we will become the defacto head of the family.

410 Several African countries like Uganda, Kenya and Nigeria have a strong Anglican presence and take their faith seriously and their socially conservative laws reflect that. Of course the Obama administration tried to undermine that in various ways. I'm guessing the lefties think that we will be as obsessed with social engineering of other nations as much as they were. They can't conceive of a government that just minds its own business on social mores in other places.

Africa is also the one place in the world where the Catholic Church is growing by leaps and bounds. Besides the fact that this is hysterical, they think that the argument that they have A RIGHT to use someone's store for meetings is the way to go. LOL. The nice thing about open carry is, when carrying concealed and your gun is inadvertently exposed, it's ok.

But I do know that the actions she took, namely, calling the police to say there was a man with a gun and a t-shirt and it was threatening, falls exactly within the openly discussed tactics of some anti-gun groups.

In other words, she wasn't threatened at all. She was specifically attempting to create an incident with the cops in order to get that man arrested or worse.

idk, but Chelsea's name is all over those illegal "charities", as I hear it. The Clintons did a classic move of operating different charities with almost the same name ... Bill even studied how to do this (well, studied how it is not supposed to be done) ... so there were different "charities" with very close to the same names. Then accounts get opened and money gets laundered through the not really a charity accounts.

Apparently that should be easily discovered by a variety of audits, so the Clinton magic is to make sure they somehow escape all those audits, for decades. And still ... they persist ... they are still collecting money, while our FBI tries diligently to remove Trump.

The whole Clinton Foundation had to be a known scam since its (illegal) conception ... but Comey/Rosie/Mueller were the dirty cops (imo) that let it operate under color of law.

The current coup is a continuation of the whole scam ... raiding and collecting every detail from Trump's attorney ... no problem. organized crime bosses? Nope, wouldn't want to do that to their lawyers .. (actually those type lawyers are probably the ones Mueller selected, as I see it)

545 You know what would be cool?

If the next pope was a cardinal from Africa, and so conservative he makes Benedict look like Frankie's more liberal brother.

Unpossible. The Italians accepted the kraut ( I can use the term, nana ) (before they house arrested him) but they went right back to another Italian. South American Italian, but Italian no less.

Isn't the current Pope the last one in the Prophecy of Malachy?

548 541 The Awans were doing something bad, and they kept doing it with DWS giving cover. Half of congress had their messages exposed, shopped around the world (I presume) ... yet they persist.

It seems only when the scandal gets enough internet attention does the FBI concede to "look into it" and even that seems mostly a coverup.

We are at a crossroads ... will the OIG report "take them out", or will the RINOs and bureaucrats and shadow people take out Trump (or severely compromise him)?

IIRC Rep Beccera (now AG California) who Awans also worked for provided false documents to investigators in this case, and so should be arrested and charged.

I'm glad that this case hasn't been forgotten. It should be dealt with fully. Although, where are all the investigators, prosecutors and jurors going to come from.

549 Well, since it's going to be something even more nuts than Pedophilia, I'm going to assume trans-speciesism, where the people who get the full-body tattoos, ie : "transgender dragon", we're going to be told we have to consider them the new species they "identify" as, and be forced to celebrate it under penalty of law.

Or perhaps bestiality

All of you are wrong. It will be along the lines of extermination of a certain groups of people. Jews, heterosexuals, white Christians, etc. The road the left travels always leads to widespread death and murder.

550 That the woman was complaining about the T-shirt but not the gun has got to be hilarious to the cops. It is to me. Another SNL skit.
