1 Good Morning Morons; today is Sunday, March 18, 2018. On this day in 1968 Congress repealed the requirement for a gold reserve to back US currency. The problem was that nations like France were trading in their dollars for gold and depleting the reserves at Fort Knox. LBJ's great society and the spending for the Vietnam War were bankrupting the nation. That is the results for electing a communist LBJ.

Preach it, Vic. We get low cost grain, which most people should not eat a lot of. I've read that something like only 30 counties in the entire country get all the money.

It's time to spread that wealth around.

No, there is no fear of God there. That is what naive or duplicitous religious leaders keep saying. That because the sewage washing across our borders is "socially conservative" because it professes religion. But they do not believe that they are sinners in need of redemption. Religion to them consists merely of behaviors and rituals. They are animals who are incapable of ethical thought, which is why they came here illegally in the first place, run drugs, drive drunk, exploit the entitlement system, etc. And why when they see their fellow illegals punished they cry out against it, because all they see is fellow members of their animal herd - that's the extent of their ethics. Christianity is based in ethics and they are incapable of processing ethics. So fear of God is not a possibility. Our only hope is the wall.

I remember a couple years ago seeing this special on the Velocity Channel about Carrol Shelby. It came out not long after his passing. The last car Shelby had a hand in before his passing was something called the Super Snake. It was a Mustang body with all the Shelby doodads on it, 700hp Coyote engine, fastass sumbitch, sweep all before it, etc.

So they decide to have a "race off" at some track in Vegas. They got one of these Super Snakes, and literally every supercar made at the time, and ran them all to see which was fastest. They had a Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maclaren, you name it, they had it.

And yes, the Super Snake was faster than all of them...

...except the C6 Corvette ZR1.

90 Mrs Cop wanted to see the remake of Death Wish starring Bruce Willis. so we went to see it yesterday. It was better than I expected (there are some plot holes, though) and I was pleasantly surprised that they didn't show the actual act of the murder and beating of his wife and daughter. They even had people on radio debating whether Willis' character was a good guy or bad guy for killing criminals.

One interesting takeaway that Mrs. Cop got from the movie was to be aware of where her hands are when shooting a semi-auto pistol. Willis' character gets "bit" by the slide on his Glock and Mrs. Cop says to me, "Oh, that's what you were talking about," when I took her shooting recently.

245 Heather Nauert is one of today's Drudge focuses. She is kicking butt over at the State Department and making all the right enemies, offending Russia and trying to modernize communications between the Foggy Bottom panty-waisters and the rest of America.

She's doing a great job.

Libs love to tout their version of strong independent wymyn which is usually someone like the Beast who only is around because of her husband. But someone like Nauert would never get that kind of recognition. In Illinois we have a woman running for governor in the primary to unseat uber RINO Rauner. Historic yes? Not according to the local MFM. Not a word about her because she's conservative

That's another thing. A lot of people buying lottery tickets have
ebt cards. They spend their available cash (sometimes obtained thru
selling those ebt card for 50 cent on the dollar) on lottery tickets so
essentially we are subsidizing the lotteries thru ebt.

Cites incredible filth on streets. Fails to mention Mayor Newsom cut the frequency of street cleaning in half 10 years ago.

254 Jonathan Turley says Comey and McCabe are saying opposite things about one of the core accusations against McCabe. Comey told Congress under oath he himself never authorized anyone at FBI to leak certain facts about the Clinton investigation. McCabe said he was the leaker, but Comey was well aware of it and approved the leak in advance.

Either way, McCabe lied to investigators about the leak, so he lied to federal agents and Gen Flynn can tell you what happens in that instance.

But one of Comey or McCabe is also lying about approving the leak. Of course, "embrace the power of And" might also apply here, since neither one of these snakes is believable on what day of the week it is.

Recall that McCabe was trying (succeeding?) in getting people to alter their 302 forms fairly recently. These are the after interview notes made by FBI agents, which are the only record of the interviews - they do not audio/videotape interview, they rely on the FBI agents' word.

Nice. A friend of mine who has since passed away used to restore vintage Ferraris. Mostly for others but it paid for his own ridiculously expensive habit.

He took me to Limerock as his "pit crew" a couple times when he would do the vintage races. Listening to those old monsters roar and face around that windy track was a hoot.

Kind of makes my TR6ish ride feel puny but it's great for the small roads around here.
