Thought Crimes Are Alive And Well And Living In The UK. Orwell Was Correct, And He Would Be Horrified.

met police hate.jpg

This is the not-so-secret fantasy of every college administrator and most blue-state legislators. How the West has arrived at this juncture in history is a sad commentary on our hubris, and what we lost (and gained) in two world wars.

Below the fold is something to clear your palate of the flavor of dictatorship...

31 Have told this one before, but it's exactly on-point.

Back in the 90s, I think, the ridiculous concept of "hate crime" was first bandied about seriously inside the Beltway. I happened to have a social/sports connection with someone who was actually a key figure in the activities of a very prominent civil rights group we all know.

The week this idiocy was bubbling on Capitol Hill, enough to make the "press", I asked him before a game about it. He just shook his head in disgust and said "don't ask me".

That has always actually further deepened my discouragement at the erosion of common sense and our best values. Here was a guy who was by background and general bent a part of the forces deforming society - but he was "old school" enough to actually understand and support basic values. So the very idea of "hate crime" he found idiotic and repulsive.

And he we are (well, the Brits in this case, they're much further down the slope).

33 A good deed might be a crime, if the person is a Christian. Because you Christians are really trying to impose your 'invisible man in the sky' religion on others.

But a Muslim that rapes is only doing what his culture taught him, so what might otherwise be a crime, is to be admired/accepted as part of the wonders of diversity and multiculturalism. Complaining about that is indeed a crime.

"Diversity" always preempts the Western culture ... except at the inbred Rothschild/Bilderberg royalty/cabal levels.

And of course, that is probably how they are keeping out conservative journalists.

Wonder if we'll fight it being enshrined in law if it comes here. Because it will be tried...in a more piece meal fashion. Resolution 530 was going to do this for Muslims. I think it would have passed easily. Can't imagine people actually calling in en masse to stop it.

But, of course, I said I was gonna detach and not worry about stuff anymore, so I'll stop now. Why be concerned. Everything is fine. No worries. Everything is peachy keen.

Bingo. That's exactly the scenario I was thinking of. And they can claim it's based on SCIENCE. Also using tech that can read another person's body heat, pulse rate, sweat -- physiological reactions that correlate with stress, anxiety, aggression, etc. I'm not saying it's in any way shape or form "hatred", but that our super-smart betters will use it to charge or harass non-Progs.

72 My understanding of Orwell's 2+2=5 thing, is not that people would be made to process that as true, but that the state would force people to accept and repeat the blatant duplicity of the state.

In the US "they" ran Hillary, a 2+2=5 candidate if there ever was one (well, Obama maybe even more so, but most were ignorant about Obama). But Crooked Hillary, we knew her as corrupt and hateful and dishonest ... but the MFM just kept thrusting the "smartest woman ever" lie.

Trump/Russia same thing ... even as we reveal it is all concocted by Dems and the FBI itself, they still demand the public accept Trump/Russia as a foundational truth. If you don't believe, you are a flat earther.

(same with gun control now, multiple genders, global warming, or I'd add "free trade" myths that enrich multi-nationals using slaves) And they already kick people out of school, or get them fired, just for WrongThink. Civil suits are next, if they can.

106 Another way to look at this whole "hate crime" thingy is to see it as the predictable result of the inherent conflict of interest that is lawyers crafting law.

Posted by: BackwardsBoy likes lobster at March 18, 2018 12:41 PM (GdWl+)

I would go so far as to say, and I mean no disrespect to lawyers when I say this, it's the fundamental flaw of allowing the manner in which lawyers think and act to dominate the rest of the culture.

In some ways, lawyer thought is equivalent to autism. You have to follow their convoluted process to get to an end that is slow and painfully precise, when common sense would cut through all of that crap, and get to a reasonable conclusion.

But we can't do anything without following the lawyer logic process these days.

Why?

Because we're stupid monkeys who want something, anything that is beyond our comprehension, to guide us.

In the bad old days, thinking bad thoughts and saying unkind words about the King and his friends, and especially your local Lord and Lady up in their castle, would always get one thrown in the dungeon. Why? Because they were an order of being much higher than the stinky smelly serfs and villagers, and they were owed Allegiance and Obedience by Right of Birth.

So now we're throwing away a few hundred years of enlightenment, and going back to that.

Good lord. First of all, the glass in question never actually touched the bar, if you were paying attention. For all you know, and likely since that's exactly how it usually works, that glass probably came out of a dishwasher in the last hour or so, and then it was placed on a dry coaster.

Fretting about the "germs" you might be exposed to is pointless. You do realize you cannot see any such thing, and that, in truth, these unseen micro-organisms, are literally EVERYWHERE. Whatever you think you might be exposed to because that glass had touched the unclean bar (despite the fact you have no idea how clean or unclean the bar that glass never touched really is), you are actually exposed to from every direction at all times.

And yet, you survive. Amazing.

Short prayer list this week, so that's good. ibguy emails me every week to keep Joyce on the prayer list. You may do so, as well.

The full list is available, should you drop me an email. home made gravy 71 (all one word) at the Hooya dot com.

Just based on currently public information - such as the Strzok/Page communications referring specifically to outlandish election-related behavior that involved McCabe - it seems certain McCabe was involved in far, far more serious crimes such as abuse of power.

Nothing conclusive, just a bit surprised that more serious matters than leaks or even perjury weren't cited at this point.

I'm not surprised at all. When you run a professional investigation that involves numerous people, powerful well connected people who have access to the media narrative shapers, the best way to run the investigation is by giving out as little information as to where things are going as possible. You want to drop the hammer all at once to give the bad guys as little lead-time as possible to build their defense in the public.

The only reason McCabe was taken down when he was was because he was about to retire with his benefits intact. So they used the least impactful violations as possible that would still reach the bar of firing offense.

The rest of what he did and the stuff that will likely lead to an indictment will come out when the OIG drops his hammer and everyone gets hit at once.

I've been wondering about this for a while.

Actually, not NSA, but DOJ/FBI surveillance on some of the principals in this mega-scandal. If there *are* criminal investigations under way of Comey, McCabe, et al, wouldn't it be likely their comms would be monitored?

But back to the NSA, as others have mentioned in the past - for any "missing" comms evidence (i.e., destroyed as part of the massive obstruction of justice/cover-up that has been going on WRT Clinton crime wave and related things), might the NSA actually be able to recover some of it?

The reality of life is that we only have the power to directly affect those people most close to us - family and a few friends. We've all been told all our lives "You can make a DIFFERENCE!!!" but that's one of the Big Lies about democracy that we all agree to tell ourselves to keep the thing going. But we all know that only a handful of people even have the power and ability to make a "difference" on the national scale. Which is why the only way to actually make a difference is to choose a "team" and work to help the team, and hope that the team doesn't betray all you've done for them. Of course, they will.

Actually, if you read what McCabe is most pissed about, you'll see he has a point - the most significant impact of this action is that McCabe's testimony in any future proceedings or hearings has now been impeached and will always be suspect. Those on his side will challenge, but then the other side will have grounds to bring up everything McCabe ever was involved in throughout his career.

McCabe's value as a witness has been destroyed.

"Not sure". Not just because the lack of inside info, but because I don't believe we've ever been in a situation where crimes and cover-ups at the highest levels of govt. created the situation where NSA's broad comms vacuum operations would have even been relevant.

Talking about intercepts of "routine" things from govt. communications that, in fact, are evidence in criminal cases that may/should be brought. Legal issues there. Presumably the Strzok/Page texts that are so explosive were obtained normally - i.e. retained records of comms on govt. devices. Not sure how NSA "back-ups" would fit into the picture.

But a serious turn in the overall narrative of what is happening took place Friday evening and that is what all the screaming and rendering of garments is about. They don't give a shit about McCabe, they care about themselves. The OIG is deadly serious and that should be obvious to all by now.

As best I can tell McCabe is the most senior non-political swamp creature taken down like this at the DOJ. Ever. I think those who should be worried are now sufficiently scared to death.

Do you remember how someone upthread said you have to think somewhat autistically to understand how to think like a lawyer? (which is how you have to think when you deal with Law, and Courts, and Judges.)

See, what you say is common sense, but doesn't have much standing in a courtroom since he could always say "hey the FBI investigated this and said I was clean". And that would have been the end of it. He could just say "that was my wifes deal, not mine." and legally, to disprove that you would have to disprove the entire FBI investigation that agreed with that.

NOW, however, McCabe can be impeached (the legal term for challenging the credibility of a witness) by showing evidence that the FBI investigated him and found he was lacking in candor (probably more will come out) which means that now the LEGAL presumption of dishonesty will hang on him like stink on shit for the rest of his life.

316 McCabe lied in his testimony, was fired for it, and now...he's pissed being fired for lying will overshadow any future testimony?

Wow, that's some weapons-grade chutzpa right there. "

On the basis of some parallel memos that he has offered (probably written after the fact as Trump has noted in one of his tweets), McCabe has been working hard to set himself up as the one who was going to swear in open Court that everything James Comey ever said in public and private was God's Own Truth.

A whole lot of this firing is more about Comey than it is about McCabe. Which is why, if you noticed, James Comey has also started sending out a barrage of angry missives. As are Brennan and all the other Clinton and Obama apparthiks. This is the first brick being knocked out of the wall that is protecting them, and they know it.

Hmmm. Didn't the OIG already assert that McCabe was asking people to alter their 302's?

That is, asking agents to retroactively *lie* on their interview forms, knowing that this is the only artifact from an FBI interview and cannot be credibly disputed (because no other records from an FBI interview exist - no video, audio recordings).

I think it's unfair to make a sweeping generalization about what conservatives are or are not doing. I used to do political stuff at the political level. Damn straight. It isn't really Eeyoring...it is fact. If I'm only at Force 9 I'm not doing it right. Because our country is slipping away and the writing is on the wall. That breaks my heart. So yea, I'm upset. I was an Eeyore when I forecasted the Market Crash in 2008 too.

So, I am trying to get out all my despair now, so that I will no longer be tempted to write anything in the future except "what did you expect", "why are you surprised", and "I said this would happen".

But it is hard when your dream of America and what she would do to protect herself dies. I should have known when illegal immigration went unopposed. But with Trump, got some hope in my heart again that people would become active. Well they did, but it was the Left. My hope for activism on the right died. As did my own activisim. So having a little wake I guess.

Just skip my posts.

344 Gumdrop, I think you're coming to grips with the sad fact that we live in a corrupt, self worshiping, and self satisfied age. Our culture, such as it was, has been lost and isn't coming back. Corrupt and self satisfied people are NEVER going to care anything at all about what happens to other people, not as long as it doesn't come through their front door. And BECAUSE they are corrupt and devoted to self gratification, they are never going to worry about what happens in the future - whatever gets them through the day today will always be enough for them.

BUT - this situation cannot go on forever, and eventually some kind of breakdown will come. (maybe sooner rather than later, since everything happens at warp speed today) we didn't get this way through politics, and we won't end this through politics, which is why thinking the right laws could "fix" our situation is foolish.

But it does not necessarily follow that it's right to do nothing and give up, because when we are building networks of people, identifying resources, preparing, and yes, even stockpiling ammunition - we do not do this in anticipation of changing anything in today's situation. We do this in anticipation of what will happen after The Break, when it comes - a time when a dedicated 10% of the population sets the course for the next century or so. The left is already planning for that - but I think they will be surprised at the counter force they will face.

I anticipate the End of the World as We Know It - but I Feel Fine.

In most of my posts I have tried to say "with exceptions".

But, when years go by and we have millions of illegal immigrants in this country, I can not apologize for saying there is a lack of activism.

Of course there are people who pray, and whose own lives are so overwhelming they barely get thru the day. No one expects them to do anything. But there are Millions of us.

we (patriots with integrity) don't do that.

Christians learning the Word of God, applying it, and praying is how we got Trump, and how this country is being saved is by God, not by conservative activism.

Hope springs eternal, I guess. For me it did. I made the mistake of believing people would care enough before it got to a breaking point. Because we easily could stop it with some work. But people prefer war or violence or a breakdown rather than preventing it. I am slow in losing hope I guess; illegal immigration really told me all I needed to know. Yet, I thought with Trump, that people would become active on the right.

But I see I am alone in this. So yes, I grieve it.

The nice thing is no one will have to hear from me anymore on the topic but for the few sentences I mentioned above. But I just gave up years of hope yesterday, so it is taking awhile.
