Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Disgraced "Cop" Scot Peterson Reported Hearing Shots Inside Parkland School Over Radio, Advised Other Cops to Stay AwayYou'll remember he subsequently lied about claiming he heard shots outside the school, and bravely stepped out into danger to confront the outdoors gunman. Spoiler alert: He's a coward and a liar.Roundly vilified for not entering a Parkland high school during a mass shooting, Broward Deputy Scot Peterson insisted publicly that he believed that gunfire was happening outside on campus -- not inside the building. But internal radio dispatches released by the Broward Sheriff’s Office Thursday show Peterson immediately fixated on Building 12 and even radioed that gunfire was happening "inside. And, just as school shooter Nikolas Cruz was fleeing the building after killing 17 people, Peterson warned his fellow officers to stay away -- even as wounded students and staff lay inside. "Do not approach the 12 or 1300 building, stay at least 500 feet away," a panicked Peterson shouted as people screamed in the background. The second-by-second timeline and audio recording of police radio chatter sheds new light on the chaotic and much scrutinized law enforcement response to the bloodshed at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High... They also appear to show that other deputies may have refrained from rushing into the school at the direction of Peterson and a Parkland captain. The response by the agency has been the subject of national scrutiny, and is currently under review by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.Guess we know why the BSO didn't want these tapes released, huh? This was also reported a couple days back. The Broward County Sheriff's Office has identified to Fox News the captain who, according to sources, directed responding deputies and units to "stage" or form a "perimeter" outside Stoneman Douglas High School, instead of rushing immediately into the building, as the mass shooting unfolded there. Multiple law enforcement and official sources said the commands in the initial moments after Nikolas Cruz allegedly opened fire would go against all training which instructs first responders to "go, go, go" until the shooter is neutralized. As law enforcement arrived, the shooter’s identity and exact location were still unknown. Multiple sources told Fox News that Captain Jan Jordan was the commanding officer on scene. In an email responding to Fox News’ request for information, a BSO spokesperson wrote, "Capt. Jordan’s radio call sign is 17S1." Comments(Jump to bottom of comments)1

Movies always have this sort of scenario play out with the Peterson character sitting by himself in an otherwise empty room, holding a revolver with one load in it, with the tapes playing over speakers so the viewers know he is confronting his weakness. Then, he does the "right thing". That's how the Hollywood elites think the plot line should go.

The Supreme Court has declared that Cops have no duty to protect you. BUT... when they legally take away your Right of Self Defense... which the Supremes did say you have... Does not that put that Duty onto the State, which took your right away? and as they PLACED you in danger, by not allowing you the Right of Self Defense... are they not the liable for damages? Which... thinking through this... would suck... because the ONLY people who would end up paying this... is the Taxpayer (just like in the Lois Lerner crap)... The failure of obviously insane policies of excluding school-age people from law enforcement, the failure of local law enforcement as noted in the post and beyond, the failure of the FBI in this case - they're spectacular, they're infamous, they're indisputable.
If the US had a serious, responsible political party at the national level, these central realities would be screamed from the rooftops - and at the press, and in the faces of the idiot kids and they're equally stupid sponsors and handlers - 24/7. From this Peterson worm on up, these names should be made toxic and infamous, their failures, stupidity, and dishonesty should be tattooed onto people's consciousness. Whenever idiotic "gun control" nonsense is raised, the people raising it should be vilified as stupid and these actual realities of the story screamed in their faces. Because it's right, and because there's a public out there that gets enough of it to understand these actual realities. The truth has leaked through the press. Mockery of the idiot lynch mob that is corporate America is also called for. GA's move on tax breaks is great, but these companies really should be attacked and vilified and mocked extensively, and without relief. By prominent public figures. I hope everyone realizes why the Supreme Court had no choice but to find against the idea that police had a "duty to protect". Its like, it is perfectly legal for a cop to lie to you, but not you to lie to a cop...
Ok, I'm going to defend this one. During the course of a cop's official duties they're supposed to gather evidence. If you lie to a cop, you're giving false evidence to an officer of the court which they then enter into the official record. The analogous situation would be for the cop to lie in his/her official report or while giving testimony in court. Cops aren't allowed to do that, and as long as you're making a statement for official use in an investigation, neither are you. As long as they say, "I lied and said X as part of Y investigative technique, the truth is Z." in their report or as part of their testimony they're presenting true information for official purposes. How hard is it to learn how to doxx? Is it just basic research, or something much more?
Doxxing usually refers to publishing personally identifying information on the internet. Things like name, address, phone number, social media accounts associated with that person, email addresses, etc. Most of that information can be had by carefully doing research online. Didn't Scott show his intellect and character way back, during the Trayvon Martin debacle? Just a quick question to the Horde re the sidebar story about the nerve gas assassination attempt on the British double-agent by the Russians.
Remember Kim Jong-Un's hit on his brother at that airport? It made a crazy kind of sense since he wanted outsiders--such as China--to know that his brother's death was an act of the state since (hopefully) only state actors have access to nerve agents and--in the case of earlier Russian assassinations--radioactive materials. Is that why they use such exotic murder weapons? To let others know this was an act of state-sponsored vengeance? Posted by: troyriser at March 09, 2018 12:58 PM (K8f5g) 258

I can demonstrate conclusively that this was not incompetence on the part of the BSO.
Four categories of people: 1. Honest, competent. 2. Honest, incompetent. 3. Dishonest, incompetent. 4. Dishonest, competent. Honest competent people don't make Broward level mistakes. When somebody does something through honest incompetence they are remorseful, concerned, self doubting, and eager to learn how to correct their errors. If a person is dishonest and incompetent their defenses of themselves afterwards are not very competent either - you don't have any good defenses in place because you didn't know you were making mistakes, and haven't premeditated your failures. Hard to look not guilty of taking the brownie when you have chocolate smeared all over your face. However when you are dishonest and competent you have fall guys ready to blame beforehand. You have thought the scenario through and have your defenses and armor mentally already in place and ready to go. Because your action is premeditated, deliberate, and competently thought out - you have deflections of the various ways you see the honest/competent people attacking your actions. In other words you have your NRA straw man ready to set fire to. You have your "Lions are not concerned with the opinions of sheep" statements ready to paint yourself as noble and sadly confronted by unjust attacks. You are ready to hide behind the mask of other's incompetence. "Never ascribe to malice that which can be explained by stupidity". The problem is when you have dishonest/competent behavior being displayed - stupidity can't explain what happened, and that leaves only malice on the table. >>>A cop's function in such a situation is to put down the perp and/or protect the victims.
Really? 'Cause the Supremes seem to have ruled otherwise... Posted by: Anon a mouse at March 09, 2018 12:36 PM (7LY+6) Not really. The ruling is that the cops don't have any obligation to protect anyone, but that doesn't mean that the cops don't have an obligation to try to stop crimes in action that they are witnessing. This is more about stopping the criminal in the midst of a criminal act than protecting the victims. If the cops ended up killing a couple of the innocents while they were stopping the criminal - which can certainly happen, and sometimes is the better choice - then they would still be carrying out their duties in good faith. That's the difference between a duty to protect and a duty to stop an ongoing crime. Posted by: ThePrimordialOrderedPair at March 09, 2018 01:03 PM (8gDQu) 290

Posted by: CharlieBrown'sDildo at March 09, 2018 01:23 PM (wYseH) I'm confused here, because Ace's own post and pull quotes show this very thing: The Broward County Sheriff's Office has identified to Fox News the captain who, according to sources, directed responding deputies and units to "stage" or form a "perimeter" outside Stoneman Douglas High School, instead of rushing immediately into the building, as the mass shooting unfolded there. Multiple law enforcement and official sources said the commands in the initial moments after Nikolas Cruz allegedly opened fire would go against all training which instructs first responders to "go, go, go" until the shooter is neutralized. As law enforcement arrived, the shooter's identity and exact location were still unknown. Multiple sources told Fox News that Captain Jan Jordan was the commanding officer on scene. In an email responding to Fox News' request for information, a BSO spokesperson wrote, "Capt. Jordan's radio call sign is 17S1." How does that differ in substance from a stand down order? I dont expect that police/sheriff have to willingly lay down their lives to protect children, but we all know that parents are told to stay back....dont rush in there....we are handling this. And then they dont.
The choice is binary. Either be willing to rush in there to possibly give your life saving other people's kids or get the hell out of the way so that parents can do it. We all know that if parents rushed in there they would be charged with interfering. As a parent, I can tell you that 95% of all parents would be willing to rush into a school unarmed if they are trying to save their kid if they know they cant count on law enforcement. Isnt that why we have them, so that the rest of us dont take the law into our own hands? I almost think hundreds of parents bum rushing a school to save their offspring would be faster and more effective and the odds of a shooter surviving that onslaught would be slim to none. Might be a lot of dying the first couple times, but shooters would learn quickly that unrestrained parents would be way more lethal that law enforcement. Posted by: Fustigator at March 09, 2018 02:25 PM (nUBV4) 468
But WHY? That's the unanswered question. A cop's
function in such a situation is to put down the perp and/or protect the victims. It's like they just decided they didn't feel like it that day. Posted by: joncelli, going phalangist at March 09, 2018 12:31 PM (RD7QR) I forgive people who cock their head at that and wonder, with such a universal string of complete failures to act against clear threat and/or ongoing attack, if failure was not the *task.* If that's an absolutely outlandish viewpoint, human fault and failure being a very reasonable alternative explanation, I still forgive it. I don't forgive the FBI, nor the state authority who might have hospitalized the kid, and most certainly not Broward who failed over and over and over again to act to make sure a mentally ill person who has acted out in criminal ways who is making promises to destroy life and property, himself in the bargain, who has published his access to deadly weapons and had police calls - one call he made HIMSELF - related to his attempt to bring a gun into a home where it was not wanted, who further, publicly announces his wish to target schools, who was banned from school property, was banned from having any backpack on school property because he concealed weapons in one - who is witnessed by Peterson (and likely recognized) "walking with purpose" towards the school with a pack and duffel, (and not even told to stop let alone confronted or tackled - ) That last bit bothers me most of all. He wasn't even shouted at or ordered to stop, by someone who had a clear enough line of sight to give a minute description. Craven and incompetent, ass covering and blame shifting seems to be the rule in Broward. I think if the FBI themselves had forwarded a warning to Broward with the kid's address or notice of the threat, Broward would have done nothing, or at least nothing differently.
