6 Fast and Furious.

Arming the enemy.

Mexico is an invading force.

That right there--aid and comfort--comprises treason, and those involved really should be frogmarched up to a gallows.

Whether they hang or not is up to the judge, but they should at least experience it.

15 ha ha ha. These will be redacted so hard they will form a black hole of ink.

The DOJ has one prime objective - to protect its own.

If you want a real investigation, do what they do to a private business under investigation - Go in and take over the building, confiscate all the computers and files, and freeze all accounts and assets.

Then, and only then, would they start to give up their own.

Wasn't that Captain Cook, or rather, his successor, after the mostly peaceful Polynesian natives finished letting the air out of him?

Posted by: Deplorable Jay Guevara at March 07, 2018 07:44 PM (taX7G)

21 willowed, I guess, but it gets on topic towards the middle, I wished:

ahhh. the days of Gore vs W. Back when we were concerned about, I don't know...capital gains taxes, I think. Lock boxes...you know fiscal plans for the future versus kickbacks to union thugs.

Now, we're in the days of existential questions. Are we a nation of this one particular tribe of Hondurans and few million Somalis...or a nation composed of ... I can't even say it but w-w-w-w-p-p-people who all seem to be angry and old and dying and living here and always talking about their family histories here.

that, and an insane security apparatus meant to keep us all living together with only the culturally appropriate levels of shootings, stabbings, and bombings...but really it's there to dox republicans.

and the whole 55 gender thing. Where did THAT come from?

and gay marriage, obamacare, the PROMISE program (good one, thanks obama!) and IRS harasssing conservatives, and OSHA harassing conservatives, and the FBI harassing conservatives, and ... hmmm. I guess that's about it.

So, good for Fast and Furious docs being released but there's a long way to go.

107 I was listening to Howard Stern today. He had David Spade on who recounted how a gun most likely saved his life when someone broke into his house and his shotgun is what drove the guy out.

Howard is a big 2A proponent as well. He's a yuugely bigly big Democrat, but on guns, he doesn't spout the usual nonsense. It is refreshing to hear.

But Spade was almost apologetic for saying something positive about a gun, given the Florida shooting. And this is what the MSM/Social Media mob does. It scares people into silence or near silence about badthink topics.

139 I read "The Fatal Shore" many moons ago about the founding of Australia as a penal colony and the history behind and of it.

When the prisoners, male and female, were sentenced to transportation and placed on the ships, they would sometimes go looney and start crying, dancing and wildly making love to each other as the sentence was the equal of being sent to your death.

The odds of surviving the transport were so-so and then you had to live the rest of your life in the penal colony with no allowance to return to Mother England.

I always eat Japanese food with chopsticks (hashi), just out of ... habit. It's also generally more ... appropriate, somehow.

I denounce myself, of course.

(Curiously, I don't usually eat Chinese food with chopsticks, although I could, easily, but usually don't bother, except in restaurants, where it just seems ... polite.)

IMO, Sessions has done more damage to the constitution than the entire collective deep state for the past 30 years. And I'm not exaggerating either.

That the left and their bureaucratic goons committed crimes and abused the law is NOT surprising. However, Jeff has done something far more dangerous - He showed that these people can blatantly break the law and get away with it.

Imagine how far they will go the next time they gain power again, knowing that there will be no consequences for their abuses going forward.

256 There's also a more complex reason that Great Britain started sending convicts to Australia. First, they'd discovered this big new land, and they wanted to build up the white/british population, BUT, it was so far away that not many British people wanted to move there voluntarily. So that was the problem.

At the same time, British Law was dealing with the fact that the population was getting tired of execution being about the only punishment that got applied no matter what the crime was (the way things worked through most of the 1600's and 1700's) and they were also too cheap to spring for building and maintaining the kinds of prisons they would need if they put a stop to executing every paddy who nicked a side of beef.

So transporting the criminals to the other side of the world solved a number of problems, from the Governments point of view.

The Massachusetts Gun Owners Action League and Massachusetts Women Gun Owners were sponsoring the First Annual Concealed Carry Fashion Show at Bass Pro Shops in Foxboro, MA outside Gillette Stadium and Bass Pro corporate canceled "because of guns". Several members of the GOAL BoD and a whole bunch of volunteers poured their time, effort, and money into this event, and Bass Pro Shops cancelled it at the 11th hour. When they started I began seeing a bunch of ANKA ones but with large numbers like '555' and saying to myself, "What sort of loser has a Paul Anka vanity plate like that!? It's one thing being a fan and getting a vanity plate about it but to know you're the 751st person to come up with that brilliant idea? Right.

Because you can know which soybean you got out of the grain elevator after the fact.

And if you have some little farm near you that you get veggies, bully for you. But you're not going to get grains from the folks that grow you green beans and spinach, I bet. So you're going to have to know seven farmers and make sure you collect everything you need at harvest time, have a way to process and store it. Not likely.

It's not made up. It's short for Roberto. It's very common in South and West Texas for even Anglos to have Spanish nicknames. See: Tito Beveridge of Tito's vodka for just one example.

Notabley, his nickname didn't help didn't help him win any border counties yesterday, except the ones in far west Texas where he's the congressman and has name recognition.

It's really a good story, I tracked it down. It was apparently a unit of Russian mercs that were probably being guided by Moscow, but which they were denying having anything to do them.

So they decided to attack a refinery/military outpost that had US special forces/military advisers in it with some Syrian rebels. And so as soon as the Americans saw it coming, they got on the phone to their superiors who called up Moscow and said "hey your guys are headed into some serious trouble, better turn them around." And Moscow said "we don't know those guys, we got nothing to do with those guys." And so the Americans said "ok, thanks!" and hit them with AC-130 gunships and JDAMS and A-10 warthogs. Not many guys left even to make a retreat.

543 I'll make the same prediction I did this morning (posted the formula in the morning thread) A while back I worked up a simple formula based on the primary that predicts the November totals for a statewide race. I got within 1 point of the Wendy Davis/Greg Abbot final 5 months ahead of time with it.

Anyway, it predicts a November final of Cruz, 67%, Beto, 33%. There's your Big Blue Wave, dems.

Future fun stuff:

Many farms have converted to wells and sprinkler irrigation systems rather than rely on unpredictable amounts and rates of irrigation water provided by the irrigation districts. So much demand for wells sprung up that it could take months before a drilling crew is available to dig a well.

In response newspapers and environmental groups have been pushing hard for regulations on wells out of fears that farmers are going to deplete all of the aquifers.

They will of course get their way before long, being CA and all. I'm sure all those lawyers in SF will do just fine, but everyone else is bound to discover that "rooftop gardens" will not sustain your dietary needs.

500 man force of Russian military contractors aka mercenaries. Approached a site very close to US forces, who responded with indirect fires and fixed/rotary wing aviation. One company of almost 200 was completely annihilated, the other companies suffered a few casualties but were able to withdraw. In Austin, we have paid city employees with city vehicles who drive around all day inspecting "water quality ponds" here in town.

Except, not in the parts of town where this would cause an undue financial hardship to their core constituencies.

So if you develop on the East side, you can say screw it to the city's draconian impenetrable cover rules, pave from property line to property line, and skip building a seven figure water quality pond with filtration beds and recirculation pumps.

Also learned first-hand to keep the bucks away (and I mean many, many yards away) from the milking does, as apparently horny does make for musky milk. What you feed them also affects the flavor. Ours were fed mostly alfalfa, and we would feed them a sweet molasses-based rolled grain mixture when milking them (to encourage them to come into the milking stanchion (we built this ourselves to keep their heads relatively secured while milking). The other thing we did is not give them a salt block to lick during the season they were to be milked, as it made the milk salty.
