Parkland Student: CNN Gave Me a Scripted Question to Read

CNN denies it. CNN's credibility stands at such a high level that really ought to be the end of the matter, eh?

From Mediaite:

"CNN had originally asked me to write a speech and questions, and it ended up being all scripted," Haab said.

"I don’t think that it's going get anything accomplished," he continued. "It's not gonna ask the true questions that all the parents and teachers and students have."

Oh, and Hero of the Cucks Jake Tapper had his typical moments.

Oh, and the Other Hero of the Cucks, Mario Rubo, suggested, as a thought experiment to illustrate the preposterousness of it, that the only way to stop shootings with semi-automatic rifles (also known just as "rifles") was to ban every single semi-automatic rifle, and the entire crowd erupted with rapturous applause, so you can see CNN really worked hard to make sure this pond was stocked with fish of diverse opinion.

Rubio thought that it didn't need saying "and that's obviously impossible and also unwise" -- but he was dealing with a crowd picked by CNN and filled with emotional children, so perhaps he did need to specify that obvious point.

Democrats/liberals are now advertising this/celebrating this, and possibly psyching themselves up to run on this platform, which would be... unwise.

Unwise? Why? Let them run on it. And hopefully election day will teach them a lesson that the other half of America gets a voice too - and votes. Hopefully it will be on the scale of an epic landslide, but will take a victory no matter how narrow the margin.

OTOH if students want a no guns policy I'm fine with "OK no guns for teenagers or single shot rifles only until age 21 or something like that" I think the world is a worse place with the stupid extended adolescent period; but we have that dumb world anyway.

If we can't trust a 19 year old to be responsible with a 6-pack maybe we shouldn't trust them with adult weapons either. Two pronged approach. Let adults in schools that are responsible enough to get training and qualify for CC permits carry in the schools and block teenage dropouts/epellees from access to weapons.

Cell phones being misused will kill more people this year than school shootings. Should we ban them as well? It's an inanimate object like a gun is. It takes a willful act by a human to misuse it. Now ask the snowflakes if we should ban cell phones or make them wait until they are 21 to purchase one and watch their heads explode.

Yes, one would assume there's some organization at the national level receiving that money and disbursing it, because you wouldn't write a check directly to Ms. Emma crazypants Gonzalez, right? Even still: why do they *need* money to protest? Do they have to have matching signs? Do they need to pay for buses to bus in possibly paid protesters to give the impression of a huge movement? Slick.

Second, its the Bill of Rights. Not the Bill of Needs or the Bill of Wants. Rights. Mess with those and the social compact that created this nation breaks down.

Finally, the left needs to be reminded that we surround them. Do they want a bunch of Sarajevos happening in this country simultaniously? Because that is what a "civil" war would look like if it were happen again.

99 Gun control debates are nearly always idiotic, and without reason. They become a pretext for arguing about other things. Pro-gun Anti-gun is a shibboleth.

Any sensible debate would need to acknowledge that mass shootings are actually quite rare. If there's an uptrending statistical trend, surely media attention is one of the causes.

There's nothing inherently more deadly about an AR-15 compared to most other rifles than that it has a detachable magazine. But so do most modern handguns, which are probably a better tool to shoot up a classroom, actually.

We really have to infiltrate and get video like O'Keefe does, of CNN and others managing their astroturf. But the FBI/CIA/NSA is too busy spying on TeamTrump I guess, in a coup effort to remove a duly elected president.

Funny thing, we sent a president by peaceful means (election) to drain the swamp, and the swamp starts riots and inspires murder to plug said drain. So of course they would fund astroturf to disarm the public, before the next phase.

And that is the end game for the left and with the violence used by Antifa and the rest if guns are taken away the leftist mobs will be showing up at Conservative's homes and killing them not just trying to intimidate them.
That CNN reporter who went to that ladies house the other day needs to either be beaten with in an inch of his life or just shot, because if we don't start punching back hard against these people we are going to be the ones getting killed and when it comes down to it I would rather it be them then me (because I'm a nice guy and people like me

173 The 2nd Amendment was passed as part of a package to get the US Constitution accepted among the several states. Mess with that and the ratification becomes null and void.

Exactly. And they have now in other cases since The Cruz shooting. That nothing was done sooner was egregious. But it was a failure to enforce existing laws.

Of course, the gun thing has been a hot button issue for a very long time, so there is a pile-on of all those who have not gotten their way. Mob rule seems to be the new way in this country.

There's also a lot of free floating anger swirling around ever since Trump won, so anyone can harness that bcz people are always looking for a way to use it.

The number that turn out will be staggering. Remember high school? Kids will go just to go, bcz peer pressure, they don't even understand gun laws, and celebrities. It's kind of a party, plus empowering. But High School and celebrities aren't the brain trust to run this country. I shudder.

Of course they all keep their hair short because they don't want to comb it and are delighted with the shampoo and body wash products so they have one less thing to do. Really how hard is it to open a second bottle? Even their razor blades come to them.

Posted by: Lizzy at February 22, 2018 12:25 PM

I'm afraid this whole students-against-shootings movement is being taken advantage of by the usual wealthy suspects in order to organize a more permanent teen activist organization. Like how Occupy Wall St. came together after the mortgage crash. Like how BLM came together after Ferguson ( or Trayvon? ).

It will have a compelling name. It will be funded. There will be a chapter in most high schools. The vast majority of kids won't bother it, but a highly vocal small core will sign up. And then mission creep will develop, and this ostensibily anti-gun organization will eventually be talking intersectionality and social justice and environmentalism, etc, etc, as the angry SJW buzzcut types of kids rise to leadership positions.

That seems to be the lifecycle. Progs are pros at leveraging genuine tragedy and grief into this sort of thing.

All the other stuff will come from Congress with Trumps help.

Let's wait and see what he DOES and not presume we know what he MEANS by what he's saying. We've been alarmed before and nothing has happened.

314 it isn't just CNN, it's the entire anti-gun movement that is making an own-goal with this child crusade. They had a viable tactic going when they were trying to convince middle of the roaders "we just want some common sense gun restrictions, no we don't want a ban."

They modern Red Guard Brigade has no message control and no restraint, and so of course they are going to despise all that nuance and come out with BAN ALL GUNS NOW!!! Which of course is what those of us opposing them have been saying they always wanted.

And the older lefties won't be able to resist supporting them, because they know it's what they really want, and they can't deny their hearts. So they're locked into a losing position with no way out, and they can only keep digging.

379 You can count on them to secure the perimeter. Once it is secure and there is assurance that no SWAT member can get hurt, then they will go after the shooter, and maybe enter the building. The most important thing is they should never be in any danger.

==========

That was my thought too.

SWAT teams are dripping in weapons, bulletproof vests, body armor, etc. Why in the hell don't they storm the school when they have reasonable or confirmed knowledge of the number of shooters and their location(s)? It seems like a highly trained, well-equipped SWAT team would be able to take out a fetal alcohol syndrome child with a gun.

380 I particularly despise Marco Rubio. I'm not a conspiracy theorist but my one of me few conspiracy indulgences is to believe Rubio is a double agent for the Left. His incredibly weasely moves over immigration with Schumer years ago, then his even more weasily evasions when he was called out, sealed it for me. And he does nothing but slyly undercut Trump every chance he gets. A lot of RINOs do this but something about Rubio is beyond the pale.

382 If a shooting happens during class, you get your gun and lock the door.

If it happens between classes but on the other side of campus, you get your gun and focus on getting kids out of the hallway.

It's not perfect and would require more than just a couple of teachers to be armed but there are no perfect solutions.

390 They act like there is some magic law we can pass that will fix all this, if only Republicans and NRA would get on board.

All we need is an AR-15 ban, and then there will be no more school shootings! But that's ridiculous, because if we make AR-15's tougher to get, school shooters will just use some other type of gun. The Va Tech shooter used handguns. Are we going to ban those too?

There is no magic law we can pass to fix this. We already have numerous laws on the books, and many of them aren't even enforced, and criminals don't care about laws anyway.

That guy who shot up a church recently had purchased guns even though he didn't pass the required background check. If LE won't do its job enforcing the laws we already have, what good will it do to pass even more laws? And how do we stop people like the Sandy Hook shooter, who obtained his guns by murdering the legal gun owner (his mom), who kept them locked up?

But yeah, who cares about facts? Let's just pass a law banning AR-15's so the kids can feel like they did something important. It's all about the feelz anyway, right? Not about actually finding a solution that works. Just find a bad guy (NRA! Republicans!) to blame, and spew the same old talking points, no matter how nonsensical they are. So tired of this crap.

One overlooked item if you find yourself on the unarmed on the wrong end of a shooting? Dry chemical fire extinguisher.

2 When people can't breathe, they lose the desire to fight.
